POS coins can be staked on pretty much any computer. Even a Raspberry Pi for example.

There is no need for any special hardware, and they use very little energy compared to POW.

You just need to buy a sufficient amount of coins to stake, then store them in your password protected wallet, which will be unlocked for staking only. And you're good to go!
Thanks.
what would be the next step after storing the coins in a wallet? That's the part I'm trying to figure out.

How can I set up my own Proof of Stake Mining Rig?

I'm hoping to learn more about how Proof of Stake mining works in practice. Willing to buy some altcoins and stake them for mining as a way to learn.
I don't want to join a pool as my objective is learn how POS rigs are set up and work rather than making money at this stage.
Does anyone have suggestions on which cryptocurrency I should try and how I can set up a staking rig? what are the hardware / software requirements? Any info is greatly appreciated. A step by step guide would be super useful.

So, all that's needed for me to participate in proof of stake is to provide my public wallet address to the pool? That's it? or should I transfer my coins to the wallet provided by the pool?
I guess I'm a bit confused because technically I can provide someone else's public address as well?

Thank you for the note. What is the software you're installing? there should be some sort of software that's doing the mining. what is that?
Also, I'm assuming you're mining on your PC?
I'm completely new to POS and basically need a basic guide on how to get started:)

I'm thinking of setting up a Proof of Stake mining facility. There are a few coins that can be mined in POS at the moment.
Are there any guides on what's needed?
Here is my understanding so far: one needs the stake (tokens) and CPU.
Is there anything else needed?
Also, are there any software or hardware recommendations?

I heard that Quantum Computer can destroy bitcoin.
Is it possible?
The difficulty level of bitcoin mining gets adjusted once every two weeks. the faster the processors, the higher the difficulty level. So no, they won't destroy cryptocurrencies (bitcoin might be destroyed by other things such as competition, however)
