Bitcoin as a mode of payment is a great thing have done so far in bitcoin. It is very convenient to people, they don't need to be stress out falling in line in cashiers and other payment center.

No because it is in the peak of popularity, many people invest and use bitcoin nowadays, so it's hard to say that it will be replace by other cryptocurrencies.

Not really, because the value of bitcoin is unstable and unpredictable while the value of gold appreciate as the time goes by.

Bitcoin is expensive because it is limited to 21Million. When miners GPU is destroyed then the bitcoin that it mined will disapper. When its stock decreases the value of it will increase.
