Re: turn that bitcoin frown upside down
by

All the arguments in this article is based on the fact that bitcoin will rise in price. Such conclusions of the author are based on the behavior of bitcoin in the past.  What will happen if the situation changes? Bitcoin can remain stable for a very long time. Why the price cannot be reduced? This is a primitive analyst.

All things that rise must later continue to rise. That's the saying right? No, I'm sure it's different. Oh yeah, all things that rise must later fall. I'm not saying bitcoin will crash right now but to assume something will remain on the same trend as previously for no other reason that because that's what has happened historically is not a good idea.

Do anybody knows the reason why this big marketcap crashed even after south korean issue almost resolved then also market moving towards 5 billion from 8 billion . Is there any particular reason??

There issue isn't resolved, it's lessened but it's still there and a possibility. China also announced tougher regulation to be put in to place as well as something around all US transactions now being taxable.

Re: Bitcoint to $1,800 USD by end of 2018

Could it be? Of course it could be, anything could be. Will it be, almost certainly not. There is still too much support and interest in crypto and bitcoin especially, new money is staying away right now out of fear but once the market begins to recover they'll flock and buy at a high price pushing bitcoin even higher. January is always a bad month for crypto, why that is, I do not know,

Re: Bitcoin going mainstream had the opposite effect than I predicted.
by

I have held Bitcoin for quite a while now and done very nicely, OK there was the dip in December, but you won't hear me complaining after the great year we have. I have also studied Bitcoin best I can, and apart from it being a great investment in my opinion it also has the power to do so much good in this evil bank ruled world.
Bitcoin never ceases to amaze me and more often than not does the opposite to what I thought it would do. When Bitcoin was attacked by JPMorgan in August along with China closing exchanges I thought we had a year of downside to contend with, wrong. I have always thought that when [Suspicious link removed]ived at the eve of it going mainstream I thought all the real fun would start, and I believed it did go mainstream when it $10,000 in December, well it did in the UK and I am sure the USA was the same, it was all over our mainstream news. But what happened, it took fright and there was a big fall and a slight rally and now it is flat lining.

What a great ride owning Bitcoin is, but I am All in and going all the way Smiley

I think you are wrong in saying that bitcoin took a fright after going mainstream, I feel like it got a lot of publicity and attracted new money an pumped too high, now a correction occurred and we are back at a normal level. The way you phrased it sounds as if the new money lowered the price.

Re: IRS taxing cryptocurrency trades starting Jan. 1st.
by

on 02/01/2018, 15:33:56 UTC
With the new tax bill recently being passed, it is reported that we will be required to pay tax on all cryptocurrency to cryptocurrency trades.  Does anybody know how much tax we would have to pay on trades.  How do you even calculate that?

https://townhall.com/columnists/lindsaymarie/2017/12/29/brace-yourselves-cryptocurrency-investors-taxes-are-coming-n2428153

Governments world over will be looking for ways to tax cryptocurrencies because they are missing out on huge tax revenues, I'm skeptical as to how crypto to crypto would work. I would think the best way to tax would be similar to stocks where profits are only taxed when stocks are liquidated. I guess however that may not work for cryptos as they can be used as a means of payment.

Re: Animal Cruelty - punishments?
by

on 08/12/2017, 20:57:43 UTC
Hey, guys. I haven't seen any thread here towards the problem of animal cruelty. What are your thoughts on it? I am 100% agains anything that has to do with animal cruelty and I try to make a small difference every day in my life. I donate a little something every day to the clinics and organisations helping and healing the tortured or sick animals. Would you help if you could or do you already?
I know for myself that if I were rich I would dedicate a big part of my life to saving and helping them.

Do you think animals torturers and people that are doig any kind of harm to them should be punished? In some countries they already are, but in some parts of the world people still find it okay to do harm to them.

Please share your thoughts Smiley
Hugs,
Belen

I think animal cruelty should be treated the same as cruelty to humans, in fact in some cases it is worse because at least humans can consent. I am not totally against some experiments etc because I understand they can benefit in the long run but for example the guys who starve their animals or abuse them. If that was done to a child they would get many many years in prison but an animal it is often nothing or maybe a fine and a short prison sentence. The world is a cruel place and anyone who abuses animals is a sick individual and they need help and also to be punished so that they understand some of the cruelty they have inflicted. My dog is a rescue dog and it is clear she was mistreated before and I just do not understand how a human could do that, she is the best behaved dog I have ever known and is so loving, people make me sick to the stomach some times.

I think that 2018 will be a good year for ETH and we will see it reach 1k and even higher after that, I think it will close between 2000-5000 at the end of 2018.

There is nothing stopping you from buying bitcoin, just maybe you can't afford 1 whole bitcoin. The best altcoin to invest in in my opinion is ethereum.

Re: Why ICOs will fail in 2018
by
bip76
on 05/12/2017, 14:17:21 UTC
Because there were too much of them in 2017. Good projects are already made, junk only left (except some, but they are rare). So, there are less chances to get even a soft cup. Thus ICOs will be less popular in 2018.

The ICO market has been so diluted that as you said it is hard for them to achieve their goals and hard for us as investors to make a good return. The ICO market will not fail in 2018 but it will almost certainly decrease in size which I only see as a good thing.

Re: Do we need more BTC forks?
by
bip76
on 05/12/2017, 14:10:35 UTC
Seriously, if we just look at how many hardforks bitcoin will get this month. Will that have a positive or negative impact on bitcoin?
https://preview.ibb.co/cjWMpb/kc85_Mynoi.jpg

I can imagine, now that bitcoin becomes more and more mainstream, that more forks will follow next year. However does a negative hardfork impact bitcoin in the future?

I think that in time all forks will be bad as it draws strength from bitcoin and adds competition, thus diluting bitcoins market share. Of course many of the forks are going to be fairly redundant but some of them are capable of harming bitcoin going forward. Although the other way to look at it is to see it as competition to push bitcoin to continue to improve.

Re: People in my country are getting crazy about ponzi ICO
by

Have anybody heard of RegalCoin or HextraCoin recently? People in my country, especially young people, is flocking into putting money in these ponzi project. Feel sorry for them  Undecided. What's your thoughts?

Hextra is a pretty clear and obvious Ponzi and really anyone investing should either be doing so knowing the risks and just hoping to be fortunate and the scheme not go bust before they get their money out, or they are just really silly.

I am very much a fan of electroneum and I think if you got in at ICO there's a chance you could make those returns. It will always be hard to find some coin to achieve 100 to 1000x your money though! If we knew the answers we'd do it ourselves!

I certainly expect an increase on launch probably 3-4x but it may then fall after before some major steps are reached on the roadmap, long term it can certainly go 10-20x ICO price.

I would't get rid of it right now, yes the price has tumbled a lot, but a lot of alts are bleeding right now, it may not reach $6 again anytime soon but it'll almost certainly recover above $2.50 soon.

I suspect that alt-coins are plunging is people are trying to get hold of bitcoin before the upcoming fork, I believe that is also the reason for the current price spike in BTC

SC is a sleeping giant but I'm not sure how quickly it will double, it's likely to happen but I'm not too sure as to when.
