We are ending Alpha phase and just about ready to transition to Beta phase of development. What I mean is simply over the next few months there will be large feature rollouts in regards to fractal data storage and the site on chain proof of concept.

Currently we have fractal data storage/relay working as a alpha test and after some tweaks it will be publicly released. In the meantime the team and I have worked on a fun little solution to users having something to do while they wait for these features coming this year 🙂

In the meantime users will get to see the chain handle some testing for the fractal storage and site on chain with the upcoming Java based game example. It's reminiscent of what some crypto projects have done by having crypto integrated Minecraft servers, but with actual Espers flair and much more. Using this we will be testing storing things on-chain via Fractal and even prototyping the Site on chain feature as well.

This will all be publicly accessible and viewable until the public testing is released later this year. What's great is this provides us with real world testing and "tuning" to optimize what we have built using community input and then truly give it a propper stress test with a public beta phase 🙂

**New Espers Client Released: v0.8.8.9 (Minor update)**

**Changes:**
- Cleaned up linking in velocity and miner files
- Added "demireorgtype" as a configurable variable allowing users to allow/deny Demi-node only network reorganization (If enabled allows "shallow" reorganize requests from standard peers to be allowed)
- Version bump
- Updated copyrights to 2024
- Updated sync selection logic
- Updated Demi-node feature
- Added Demi-sync functions
- Removed debug log spam
- Updated net files with public pnodeSync select/setting as apposed to segregated settings
- Updated documentation to reflect recent updates
- Fixed graphics issue on coin sending page that made "send amount" invisible
- Updated the SettingsPage lock/unlock status trigger and toggle mechanism. (Fixes lock/unlock not being displayed correctly on the SettingsPage in previous versions)

**Notes:**
- This update is optional! (You do not have to update if you do not want to)
- This update features several stability improvements and fixes that many users may benefit from, this update is therefor still recommended to all users!

**Espers wallet update! (New release)**

We are very excited to announce the new Espers [ESP] wallet/client v0.8.8.7 is now officially released! This is HUGE upgrade to 0.8.8.6 so don't let the version numbers deceive you! If you would like to read the entire list of changes please just visit the release link provided below and check out the "Changelog" in the release comments. Pretty much fixes all the problems users have been having and then some!

**QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT**

As you know yesterday (April 12th) was the technical birthday of the Espers project. To celebrate this I've decided to do things a little differently this year and combine our project's birthday celebration with an Easter event as we haven't celebrated Easter before and I think it would be a great way to engage with you all here in the community and to bring others in who might be interested in receiving some unique NFTs and piloting prototype features before they are released in the next set of updates.

So this year I've create a special Easter egg hunt with unique rewards for users. The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs that will be able to be redeemed for virtual prizes, including NFTs, from both Espers and other participating partnered projects (To showcase cross-chain functionality).

The top three winners who find the most eggs will each receive a unique NFT rewards from Espers, while all participants will receive a special prize for taking part in the event. The prizes will include special, exclusive, and/or rare NFTs besides common ones that users will typically find during the event. So get ready to hunt for those eggs and have a lot of fun this year!

**Quick update**

- collection and manual smart contract minting public release for NFT bot
- NFT handling from within the Espers client/wallet

Biggest part is properly showcasing that unlike all other networks your smart contracts with Espers is all on chain and not just some link that can be altered or destroyed. Ipfs or not no other network is capable of what we've built. Mind you ipfs is a outright terrible solution
