Re: Next BCH Attack on BTC?
by
bitPico
on 18/01/2018, 01:45:59 UTC
It looks like the next BTC difficulty adjustment is in about 10 days, however, this time it appears it will be going DOWN by about 15%.

The last 2 BCH 'attacks' on BTC were coordinated when the difficulty was adjusted upward, so do you think we will or won't see an attack this time?  If the difficulty is going down, that should also help with transaction fees and times, correct?  Which also may result in a more bullish market.

I sold all my crypto a few weeks back and put the lot into gold.

Seems I made the right call.

Hodl forever is bullshit, sometimes you need to take a step back and know when to take profit and stabilise your gains.
Yes HODL forever is a con… most people want to be enjoy their investment gains. Keep 1 Bitcoin…

When I saw the prices of crypto currencies there is almost every coin's price fell upto 20%.Do you think this is just happening due to South Korea's ban over crypto currencies or there is other reasons for that.

I hope the condition will be back normal soon but I am worried a lot. Sad
Who cares what happens day to day? What is normal? Lol Grow some balls....

Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?
He is Nick Szabo: https://twitter.com/NickSzabo4

Re: expected price of btc by the end of the year?
by
bitPico
on 22/12/2017, 10:34:14 UTC
bitcoin has had a huge dip in the past 2-3 days and is expected to fall even more.
what would you predict its price would be?
would it fall below 10,000$?
or do you expect it to rise back to its original price before the year ends?
If below 11,000 then 7,000. No rise before end of year; rally is over time to spend profits. 💰😄

The journey of bitcoin from 2009 to 2017 is very interesting. Although the stories of individuals(investors) are very interesting and motivational that how they initiated and what problems they faced at earlier stages.

In 2017 the number of businesses accepting bitcoin continues to increase. Where you see the bitcoin in 2018?
Who cares. The rally is over... Just bag hodlrs left. 💰😂🤗

Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children
by

on 22/12/2017, 10:27:57 UTC
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.
Teenagers can not afford a Bitcoin anymore; them days are long gone.

Re: Reason behind Bitcoin Dip (Crash)
by
bitPico
on 22/12/2017, 10:22:09 UTC
I would like to understand the main reason behind the bitcoin dip/crash (whatever it may be). Currently BTC is trading at 12.5K on preev.com, and I am beginning to become scared as to what the near future may hold for bitcoin.

Is this a Bitcoin crash? Or is it a crypto crash too? Is it just the holiday season or something else? We can also see on coinmarketcap.com that in essence, almost ALL alt-coins are also down by a similar amount in %.

Hold or sell, what do you think?

PS: Please don't just spam this thread with:"Sell now, it will crash" or "Don't worry, it will go up". Base your points on facts that drive the discussion forward, not just general terms that have been already written down many times before.
It’s going lower; 19,000 was your profit zone. You will have to bag hodl for however long that is....

The value of Bitcoin dumps really hard from almost 20000 USD Dollar to 13835 US Dollar. Does the bubble already burst?

We sold ALLOT for fiat in order to buy physical properties. Seeing almost 2000 percent returns in 365 days leaves little motivation to hodl. A good buy back in (if you care) is 11,000 USD. We won’t be buying back into Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies; they all needs time to grow up...

Re: Bitcoin = $1 Million by 2020
by
bitPico
on 04/12/2017, 10:20:45 UTC
John McAfee Bullish on Bitcoin Price Reaching $1 Million by 2020.
He wrote in Twitter: "When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017. BTC has accelerated much faster than my model assumptions. I now predict Bircoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong."

Can yo believe this? What are your own predictions?

McAfee is a 70 year old drugged out bankrupt has-been. By 2020 Bitcoin will not be valued at 1 million USD. It’s only 2 years away... 30-40K is possibly reasonable.

Re: Segwit2x is DEAD! Now Core can go full steam ahead: GO GO GO!
by
bitPico
on 09/11/2017, 01:16:19 UTC
Now that's some good news that I'd love to hear and confirm.
As I said a few days ago, I've always been in favor of applying segwit as a whole to the bitcoin network as it was only supposed to get us better. I'm talking about a faster network with lower transaction fees.

But at that time it never came across my mind that it might come as a hard fork. And when I realized it, it really upset me.

segwit has been active for months. the funny part is that the mining pools themselves are afraid to use it.
check out their block reward addresses.. yep not segwit addresses.
btcc and slush were the two main mouth piece advertisers of how much they loved segwit.. and yet, still use legacy addresses for their rewards.

although the pools were arm twisted/paid off into accepting segwit earlier this year due to the subterfuge that it was part of deal to then also upgrade the base block.. now the baseblock has not got the 2x upgrade, we are not really in much of a better legacy position than 2015

even gmaxwell himself cant even get himself to change his own donation address to a segwit address
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=11425
Bitcoin address:    17F6gfDfTXpUdT9g2o3eqSmmwnUsPRokPB

Miners will mine SegWit2x but yes hardly anybody uses or mines segwit transactions and the block size is still small and Greg Maxwell uses a non-SegWit donation address. Nothing has changed since 2012 except performance and security and UDP satellites relaying block headers. Scalability has been ignored even in regards to LN putting all of the transactions into such tiny base block sizes and if hardly anybody mines SegWit then it will be even worse in regards to congestion (on-chain). Many hurdles ahead.

Re: what is gonna happen 2X
by
bitPico
on 09/11/2017, 01:01:50 UTC
Am I mistaken on something?  I was under the impression the fork wouldn't happen so this won't be a thing.  I am super new to the term, been using Bitcoin for awhile but I don't quite get the process of what a fork is and what it does to the coin.  My impression was the fork is not happening so that Bitcoin2x is not going to be a thing anymore?
The miners never claimed to have backed out of SegWit2x. Wink
