Two months ago 1MH/s was ~$100. Now, ~$15.

Do you honestly think that it will be profitable when you lose so much of your initial investment? Meanwhile, ALTcoins are dying and plummeting in value. Not to mention the difficulties are increasing at such a rate that it's starting to make Bitcoin look like an ALT..

If GAW follows their trend of screwing customers, you'll see a 60% decrease in hashlet price within 2 months and an increase in difficulty so high that you might make it out with 50% return before your hashlet(s) are worthless.

Congrats!

wow, interesting, this is exactly what I hit in 100d on S1 (on average). they must have some formula to predict this.
14% in 100 days is 60% a year. Don't tell me you hit this on the stock market on anything else.

I would say BitMain is well aware of our margins, I am tracking everything in a spreadsheet (IRS) for S1, S2, S3..  they all seem to be on that mark, S1's early appearance really gave it the edge. My first S1 I paid 1.9BTC ($1554.96) ran it for 180 days and then sold it on ebay, net was $634.61 / $1554.96 = 41% Net profit. My first S2 is @ day 129 and is currently $1012.95 in the black, other 2- S2's are 64 days in and @ 49% ROI. SP10's are 63 days in and @ 37% ROI ;(

Just like the market you have to hedge your bets, keep your eye on the future offerings, and get IT while you can! Basically I have watched this grow from a $1500 hobby into a 30K small business. Bitmain is helping me keep that going by NOT raping every nickel of value out of their offerings.

then whats the points of it?

Perhaps some of us have been mining since 1BTC was nearly worthless and we see an increase in stored value.
Some of us are not focused on the day to day, but rather we see a much larger picture.

How can you defend the price of BTC 0.75 ?

I used https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator and it was impossible to reach ROI.

The calculators I have used, including this one are not that great.  I have 4TH mining at Eligius.st currently and make $75 a day roughly minus the $15 a day in power I pay for a total of $60 profit.  My hardware will be paid for in 3 months.  These are actual results(not calculated).  I could never find a calculator that would give me those numbers.

Coinwarz bro..

But anyone can do the math for themselves. It's fun when you start factoring in PSU efficiency, line resistance, cooling, controllers... "Hmmm.. Do you think this 16 gauge wire will melt?"..

Fun times. Some days I wish I was in an actual gold mine rather than worrying about burning my house down.

Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread
by

And is this secure?? I mean... there´s no risk S3 explodes or something? xD
This has me curious as well. I never did overclock the S1's I had, but I'm thinking of overclocking these dudes. I'm really hesitant, though, on the count of them already needing to clock them to 218.75 stock :|

Was thinking of nudging one up to 225, but don't want to risk burning my house down.

A few kilowatts really throws the heat in mid summer. Almost wish this was January.
I'm terrified to leave the house in case a cable melts and 'POOF!', FD calling me to tell me that I screwed up. My 16gauge cable melted or something random I overlooked while frantically getting them online and neglected the cooling.

Soooo hot..

One of my only gripes with mine (outside an unneeded UPS shipment release frustration bomb - would only release 1 of 2 boxes to my front door)...

It lists on the UPS label on each box "Description: BITCOIN MINER" -  Still not comfortable with this being out in the open given what the hardware is...

My feelings exactly. Now everyone at UPS knows you have BTC miners.

If any of you are still concerned about processing/shipping times.

My two orders:

2014-06-30 14:04:06.0 AST Arrived Thursday
2014-06-30 14:29:50.0 AST Arrived today (two days later for a 25min delay in 2nd purchase)

In a lot of cases 'the early bird', does in fact get the worm.

I would hate to have waited. I can't image the queue. Sorry folks. I feel for you..

I'm getting thousands of HW errors and 10% rejects. A reboot does nothing. How can I solve this problem?

what's your poolside difficulty?

2014-06-30 20:36:39  unship   Cry

Me too. Batch 1 in between 20:00 and 21:00.

Since we are going to have to wait a while, wouldn't it be nice if they are fixing the dc/dc issue for us before they ship? Or maybe we will get machines that have good hash rates. We can only hope.

I placed two orders on release. The first order was within the first seconds of going live and has already been delivered.
The second order was placed about 10-15 mins later and was shipped the next day. It will arrive tomorrow morning.

This should tell you something Wink

Didn't I mentioned reasonable & not 10usd.  And also referring to posts above... Bitmain themselves are not declaring the item price correctly.  We buy using btc & there is no usd value in their website.  Also declaring the item properly such as computer accessories  so that custom clearance will be much easier  for many other countries.

Many get slapped with taxes ranging 10-30%. Those lucky ones not getting slapped with that please stop trolling &  talk crap also miners getting stucked @ customs cos they don't know which category it falls under.

Just a small request not begging.  If Bitmain cares about loyal supporters &  customers, imo they should at least consider such small request from a buyer who wants to purchase more than 50 units.

Um.. o_0

Just curious, but could you describe the process and results of when a Bitmain shipment is lost?

And no, you don't come off as pompous or pretentious.

Thx for digging that out.... Bitmain please take note. Do the same for us. At least a reasonable value instead of full value. Usd 50-100 seems a fair value as computer accessories.

Sorry but I doubt begging for lowered declared value is going to go anywhere.

Just got a paid confirmed on a payment with only two transactions.  Looks like they're confirming manually or it's set to a low threshold.
Same here.  'Paid' after three confirmations, maybe two.

I am sitting at 2 confirmations and still showing unpaid on the website.

they obviously just stole your bitcoins.
