To use vanity coin gen its very easy.
I use windows.
Open a comand prompt and go to the directory you put vanity gen in.
An example would be
vanitygen -X 73 -t 4 White
the pc will run and genate and address with its privkey.
This privkey you need to copy then import that priv key into your wallet.
The wallet will then run and generate the address (that you just made) from the private key.
Not all words work with vanity gen so if you try WHITE... it wont work as its not a valid address.
Try different combos to see what works.
Start with W
then try W (something else )
and keep building till you get a cool address.
The longer the address you want eg :Whiteknightsofoldandverycool...
will take forever to work out (prob a hundered years) so dont try..
remember its brute force to work out the address priv key.
Practice importing a privkey into your wallet. See how you go.

Your wallet is the only thing that is safe if you follow the basics.
However make sure you encrypt with a very very secure password.

On another note, I think we need to re-address the coins cap.
When the coin was released there was to be a 330 Million coin cap, 300M to be distributed by mining and 30M to be distributed through staking.
I have currently sent a few feelers out to confirm that the coin still has there parameters.
The issue as far as I see it is that 30M coins distributed through staking only gives the coin a 5 year growth period (slightly less if all coins were staked and the interest was compounded)
I think we need to look at the coin having more like a 20 year growth period, keep the staking at 2% per annum but raise the ceiling to something closer to 420M

Yeah I have around 3MIL and don't get that kind of payout daily.
Anybody else using reddcoin-qt v1.3.1.2 and actually receiving any staking income? I have been staking 24/7 on this version of my wallet since 9/7 and still have yet to receive a single payout :/Im using v1.3.1.0-ga81515d-beta

Well - I wonder if it's not risky to promote a tools that basically dump BC for Fiat. I guess it's a start - but we realy need to find ways to have merchands accepting BC directly (same for BTC or any other currency).
That being said - I would like to say that you BC guys are doing great. I still own some - and if I had to bet on a ''top 10 crypto with the best chances to survive and thrive'', I would put some money on BC. Keep going.

Also, if you ever want to succeed (and break out of the PnD stupidity of Mintpal etc.), i agree that the only way is EASY real world adoption. You need to have simple ways for "normal people" to accept as well as cash out BC (of course the price would rise if close to no one ever sold BC, but that would not be a currency but a collectors item

If u look at say the bitcoin chart... or the blackcoin chart... etc the price goes up when the number of transactions go up.
So simply put the more its used the more its worth.

Big bag holders are the true belivers and dont sell.

Give it time.

We need to get Blackcoin on Mt.Gox and bitstamp, that will make the coin more valuable and we can make money all of us. That is very simple just add the coin and see rate increase. Be sure to buy BC before they add the coin to the big exhange, it will explode and then is it too late for getting them for pennie.
Mt Gox? Is that a joke!
The whales will pump BC in the next month due to the price.
Then drop it like a stone.
We need all the BC holders to not cash out!

Remove the "Display addresses" setting checkbox. It doesn't do what
the tooltip says, and seems kind of pointless in any case.
I liked that feature.

People who do not believe in alt coins and probably want to change BTC to usd in case BTC price goes down or put more BTC in another rocket! So many cool things in the pipeline... wtf!?But at the end BC have less and less such people on board - this is great.
I like Drunksound who get about 500k BC at 22k Sat - and he promised create another BC development team.
If someone get into coin with such money he is knowing what is is able to do.

let people see that i am buying. And start delivering some services which will boosts price over time by mass adaption.
In year or two i would be 100x richer - creative work and buisnes boosts price volume and real demand.
I know being skeptical is not well received in blackcoin community. But honestly, these paroles are up for 2 months now and it essentially happened nothing (in terms of price). People are bag holding and they will dump (like the last spike to 40k). And it's not good that less people hold Blackcoin. The main problem is, people are holding - not buying. Even great, real news (not rumors) do not result in a pump. Means: The community is nearly close. There are a bunch of believers, but just a few new investors coming. XC (which I don't hold) ANNOUNCES some functions, which maybe will come (nobody knows) and the price runs up nearly 50 % -> this is normal Altcoin behavior.
As usual, everyone will feel offended by this comment - however, I think that everyone should not try to suppress the important and appropriate discussion about this ridiculous Blackcoin price, because this should be the main concern at the moment. Bag holding is no fun, especially if there are short term opportunities to double your BTC easily.
I just dont believe the price is too high.
If u look at other coin prices then we are undervalued IMO.
As far as the price going up and down... if it goes up im happy...
If it goes down I buy.
If u believe in BC then no problem.
As far as bag holders go...
They are the true belivers surely?
