Re: 2013-12-11 Entrepreneur:Wall Street Will Put 'Hundreds of Millions' Into Bitcoin
by

IMHO the hundreds of millions would be better used to increase the infrastructure around bitcoin.
For example, payment systems (paypal/bitpay/Zipzap) and exchanges (derivatives/bitcoin bank not just wallet) rather than just a simple buy of bitcoins.
The bigger the infrastructure, the more useful bitcoin becomes, increasing the intrinsic value and allowing more people to use bitcoin more effectively.
Price will follow from there.
Good news for sure.

Re: [2013-12-06] -Video- In Business- Will Bitcoin Craze Grip India?
by

I would love to have the bitcoin craze hit India but the export rules seem to be the sticky point.
However they do love gold, and if they treat bitcoin like gold then all is well.
There's another billion plus person market opening up to bitcoin realities.
The fee savings alone should be of huge interest to Indian businesses.

So does that mean some financial companies were going to get involved in bitcoin?
I guess they'll have to find a way around the new rules to get involved.
Either way MEGA BULL

Correct me if I'm wrong isn't the market cap of silver about 34 billion? So bitcoin should be more than double to be comparative?

http://www.coindesk.com/bank-of-america-bitcoin-growth/
http://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-can-be-the-new-western-union-2013-12

Assuming Bitcoin becomes (1) a major player in both e- commerce and money transfer and (2) a significant store of value with a reputation close to silver, our fair value analysis implies a maximum market capitalization of Bitcoin of $15bn (1BTC = 1300 USD)

Comments?
how close are we to those goals any way?

I could see us busting through $1300 but it seems like a nice safe number to hit.

All in all some mixed feelings about this hearing.

I was more impressed by the senators than some of the panelists.
Some of their remarks about the profound implications this could have on the economy, banking industry and central banks were absolutely incredible.
On the other hand, I really didn't like much of the regulation stuff.  And redhead lady was just f-ing awful.

Totally agree. The tough questions were answered by yesterday's panel. Feels like a step back.

Gallipi just tanked the price... He crapped his pants and did not answer to the last question, what a fail, Shasky and the indian lady yesterday have kicked everybody's butt Cheesy

what was the last question? i thought he did answer it.

Schumer wants to know how the Feds can get the rest of the bitcoin community to follow bitpays standards.

I thought Gallippi's answer was sufficient.
Of course if these senators were in attendance on day one they would have had fewer concerns about crime in general as they would have heard the excellent answers from the panellists that were in charge of speaking for their respective law enforcement agencies.

Raman for example who stood out for many positive reasons.
