Bitcoin Lottery

I'd like to open a relatively honest bitcoin lottery....just something simple and fun.  Maybe .05 BTC to select a three digit number.  Is anyone doing anything like that?

Thank you for posting I should have been much clearer in my post.  I really thought I saw a post from someone who had a different kind of ASIC and people were talking that he/they could have more than 50% with these units.  I don't see the thread any more.  Maybe I was dreaming....maybe I'm nuts.

Or both.

I know this is a clumsy way to go about this but did I read somewhere on here today about a company that was based in the US and was planning on offering a miner that could change the balance of things?  I know I read the thread but I cant find it.

Re: Thieves, Govts and Mistakes

You made a lot of mistakes, the first one was to TRUST on a system.

You trusted Bitcoins-24, do you know who they are? Giving something of value to anybody is always a risk, even giving it to the bank. You are from Argentina, where you had a bank run on 2001, banks stole dollars from people, and the minister give the people "peso" instead of his dollars.

Then you trusted on BlockChain, even when they say they have security, you can't be sure if they really are keeping your coins safe. Misteriously they can say "uppsss, our system was hacked" and say "bye bye" to you (ex-) coins.

Then you trust on Yubikey, a third party security system. What happens if it fails? And 2-pass auth? The one controlled by G00?

The answer was always, do not trust on somebody, you should keep your coins for yourself. Cold storage, print the code, or remember it. And trust no one.

You are certainly correct, but reading your post - and this thread - I was thinking: is bitcoin ever going to become mainstream needing this level of attention?

What are ASICMINER shares trading hands for these days?  (sorry if this is the wrong place to post this)

How much of a dividend are they paying (roughly) each week?

Only certain people are allowed to start group buys.  If you are not part of the club, "btharper" will flame any post you put up.

Have you tried?

Bitcoin Daily Number
by
bitcoin_max
on 02/07/2013, 19:15:16 UTC
What about a game where you put in 0.1 BTC and guess a number and once a day a random 2 digit number is drawn.  Any day there is no winner the pot rolls over.  Some harmless fun and perhaps a way to get people using Bitcoins.  (The 2 digit number - at least at first - ensures frequent winners)

Small Lotto

How about an .10 BTC lotto.  Everyone pays in .10 BTC and a TWO digit random number is picked.   If it's your number you win.  If no one wins the balance carries forward.  Two digits gives a greater chance of a winner each day.  Just a bit of fun.  What do you think?

You can't do anything to "keep" the price high.  The price will always reflect the current supply/demand situation.

The US is a very diverse place.  Based on whatever logic you choose there should be somewhere here thats suitable.
