Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to the community today with the following message: For Bitcoin to succeed in the long term, I believe it’s critical that more businesses begin accepting Bitcoin for goods and services, invest in Bitcoin, and actively drive its adoption.

Last fall, I had the opportunity to discuss this topic with Bitcoin pioneers like Nick Szabo and Adam Back, as well as gather feedback from Jack Mallers. My focus has been on identifying ways to help businesses leverage Bitcoin more effectively. Entrepreneurs are savvy—they quickly recognize the long-term risks of holding fiat currencies. The policies of the central banks will ultimately propel Bitcoin toward mainstream adoption.

Through conversations with numerous business owners, I’ve observed emerging interest in Bitcoin and many are starting to grasp its value proposition. However, the primary obstacle remains the perceived lack of consumer demand for Bitcoin payments—a fair concern from their perspective. Nick Szabo stressed Bitcoin’s potential to streamline cross-border payments, otherwise I've observed use-cases in industries like online gambling and anonymity-focused services (e.g., casinos, adult entertainment).

A few months ago, I launched BitcoinForBusiness.org with the goal of helping companies integrate Bitcoin. The project is still in its early stages and relies on community input. My goals with this post are to:

• Gather recommendations for a successful market entry strategy.
• Connect with businesses open to accepting Bitcoin.
• Learn from success stories of entrepreneurs who’ve grown with Bitcoin.
• Find partners and investors to help scale the initiative.

Ich wende mich heute an die deutschsprachige Bitcoin-Community mit folgendem Anliegen: Für den langfristigen Erfolg von Bitcoin ist es meiner Meinung nach entscheidend, dass mehr Unternehmen beginnen, Zahlungen in Bitcoin für Produkte und Dienstleistungen anzubieten, in Bitcoin investieren und dessen Verbreitung aktiv vorantreiben.

Vergangenen Herbst hatte ich die Gelegenheit, mich mit Bitcoin-Pionieren wie Nick Szabo und Adam Back über dieses Thema auszutauschen und Feedback von Jack Mallers einzuholen. Mein Fokus lag dabei darauf, Wege zu finden, wie Unternehmer noch von Bitcoin profitieren können. Unternehmer sind intelligente Menschen und erkennen schnell, dass das halten von Fiat-Währungen langfristig riskant sein kann – insbesondere angesichts der ungebremsten Geldpolitik der EZB, FED. Dies wird letztendlich Bitcoin zum Durchbruch verhelfen.

In Gesprächen mit zahlreichen Unternehmen, sowohl international als auch in Deutschland, habe ich ein breites Interessensspektrum festgestellt. Viele fangen an, den Mehrwert von Bitcoin zu verstehen. Der größte Hindernispunkt ist jedoch, dass Unternehmen kaum Nachfrage nach Bitcoin-Zahlungen sehen. Das ist aus ihrer Sicht ein nachvollziehbares Argument. Aus meinen Diskussionen geht hervor, dass insbesondere grenzüberschreitende Zahlungen durch Bitcoin effizienter werden könnten – ansonsten sieht man Zahlungen bisher in Branchen wie Online-Glücksspiel und anonymitätsorientierten Dienstleistungen (Casinos, Erwachsenenunterhaltung etc.).

Vor einigen Monaten habe ich das Projekt BitcoinForBusiness.org ins Leben gerufen, um Unternehmen bei der Bitcoin-Integration zu unterstützen. Es befindet sich noch in der Anfangsphase und ist auf Input der Community angewiesen. Mein Ziel mit diesem Post ist es:

• Empfehlungen für einen erfolgreichen Markteintritt zu sammeln.
• Kontakte zu Unternehmen zu knüpfen, die bereit sind, Produkte gegen Bitcoin anzubieten.
• Erfolgsgeschichten von Unternehmern zu hören, die bereits mit Bitcoin gewachsen sind.
• Partner und Investoren zu finden, die das Projekt vorantreiben möchten.

Thank you, everyone, for the thoughtful feedback. I’ve resolved the SSL issues and updated the blog posts. While this is still an early-stage project, I believe it has significant potential to help businesses transition toward adopting a Bitcoin standard.

Based on your responses, this seems like something the community is genuinely interested in. The site is designed to assist businesses exploring Bitcoin strategies. Last fall, I had the opportunity to pitch the idea to Nick Szabo, Jack Mallers, and Adam Back at a conference, and their feedback further confirmed its relevance and viability.

Now, to dedicate myself full-time to this project, I need to secure financial support. If anyone has advice or suggestions on how to make this feasible, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.

An important role for widespread adoption of Bitcoin is corporate adoption. As volatility settles, companies will want to use Bitcoin for cross-border payments. I have therefore started an inntiative with the mission to accelerate corporate bitcoin adoption. http://bitcoinforbusiness.org/
