if the blockchain says u own the bitcoins why are you worried? Unless u need to move the bitcoins quickly and if thats the case you allready have access to them by using electrum. I assumed armory would be used for more storage typed wallets.
I am slightly okay with this but the way he worded it is wrong. Dogecoin is meant to hurt bitcoin not dogecoin users by making a mockery of it, the comments left on the page clear it up however so this thread probably isn't even needed.
No one can predict the future. No one knows. If someone somehow DID know, they certainly would not tell you or anyone else.

How will I be disappointed? It's not like there is looming global stock market crash in our future or anything. It's not like all of central and south America now has access to bitcoin. It's not like there is a debt crisis in the USA. It's not like the Fed is still printing $85 Billion a month.

Ah ok so this is how the difficulty is determined. Didn't really think about it being possible for difficulty to decrease, but I guess theoretically it could. I don't really understand why you say 20160 minutes though. Is the minutes you are reffering to not a unit of time, but a different computing minute?

Not at all, its just we will have 1.3 times the amount of bitcoins being used because of the addition of the black market. Moving money shouldn't be illegal it should be the crime that is illegal but that is an opinion not shared by governments.

I suggest you get into scrypt mining. Even if you drop 600 USD on a graphics card and later find out that mining is not for you, for whatever reason. It will not be the end of the world because hey, at least you have an awesome video card for gaming. Or if you don't care to game, then sell your video card on ebay. You may even make a profit.
ASIC mining is much riskier. If you can't get your ROI via mining, you have worthless hardware on your hand. NO ONE will buy outdated ASIC gear from you. You will not recoup your cost of purchase via resale. And that expensive ASIC CANNOT do anything else, unlike your video card.
These are just a few reasons why scrypt mining is becoming so popular.

This is a very good point that scrypt mining is a lot less risky. However after scrypt ASICS are created these cards will become useless and the same thing for scrypt mining will happen as what happened to btc. Right now though it definitely makes sense to go for scrypt but you'll have to move soon to make a return on ur vid card and the way the market works is, if everyone is trying to dump their high end graphics cards they will end up being worth pennies.
If there are 21 million scheduled Bitcoins and 84 million scheduled Litecoins does that theoretically make Litecoin worth 1/4 of a Bitcoin? I know that Cryptocurrencies are all subjectively valued, but I feel like Litecoin possesses qualities that could make it the preferred coin for everyday transactions. At this rate, is it a wiser decision to hold Litecoin instead of Bitcoin, assuming that Litecoin has at least ~21% growing potential?
Litecoin does nothing that bitcoin can't do it just hasn't yet, partially because these changes don't make much drastic improvements. You can't judge a crypto currency simply on how many scheduled units there are, then shitcoin and crapcoin could be worth 5 times the amount of bitcoin. Also crypto currencies are a new and small field and dividing the market caps aren't helping us.I bought a couple of ASICMiner block erupters off eBay for about $40 each. They do 335kH each.
Decent enough to get you started in pool mining on any SHA-256 currency, I think BitCoin has just too high a barrier to get into right now but that's just my 2 Lincolns
Plus if you're new to all this (like me
) It's best to keep your investment low until you know what you're doing with a command line and compiling code.

Its better to not waste potential investment money just buying hardware because you want to. Wait for a good opportunity and jump on it, usb block erupters are not one of those. Also you dont need any minimum amount for pooled mining, that's the whole point of pooled mining...

How does one mine 'better'? I've lived under the assumption that a miner works to the extent of your hardware's capabilities, and that was just a hard limit.
This I don't see how a pool could be more newbie friendly as most pools now have very straight forward instructions to get setup. If u can't figure out how to setup yourself on a pool, you would need help on setting up a secure wallet, etc. Instead think about maybe creating a information resource for newbies.Re: After China now Indian firms suspend digital currency trade after RBI notice
Wow, So thats another 1.237 billion people in India to add on top of the 1.3 billion people in China. Thats a nice chunk of Earth's population. This will only slow cryptos acceptance.
bitcoin isn't dependant on exchanges u can use it by paying with cash and using localbitcoins.com which will make it almost excursively used for crime in these countries, which is what India doesn't want to happen I assume but they are really dumbWhat he is saying is right, its very likely you wont make a return on your investment, and making a return is heavily dependant in the value of bitcoin raising, something you can benefit from by simply purchasing btc and enjoying the return that way. ASICS are only useful to mine btc so if btc dies ur ASICS are useless, its not like by buying actual hardware ull be able to sell it later if bitcoins die so either way its dependant on the price. If you still are interested if u can tell me ur general area i can check craigslist and kijiji if they are any good deals in ur area.

This. You don't have any money tied up with them so you should feel free to make a purchase locally.
