Re: Future of Blockchain?
by

Blockchain seems to be pretty widely accepted, even by people who dismiss or doubt in the long-term viability of bitcoin.

Question for everyone on here - what are the leaders in blockchain technology and research? I know that IBM is one of the major mainstream companies that is involved in really pushing blockchain. What other companies are leading the way?

Users can earn tokens by sharing information, is that correct? Is there any limit to how often a user can share info and therefore the rate at which they earn tokens?

Good question. The important thing to remember is the term "marketplace". Users who decide to share their data will share it with those interested in utilizing the data (e.g. research studies, etc.) So an limit will be determined by the market.

OK thanks for letting me know - good luck with everything Smiley

Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin

I don't know the trajectory at which stores will be accepting bitcoin, but this is an element of mainstream acceptance that I am interested in. The more stores that accept the better Smiley

Something that bitcoin brings that other fiat money doesn't bring, at least in theory, is the finite nature of bitcoin, as the cap of minted coins is only supposed to hit 21 million.

Re: Thoughts on the next fork?

This is maybe a stupid question - but this more recent fork seems like it came up out of nowhere pretty suddenly, and I follow the crypto news decently closely. From a technical standpoint, is it possible to make a fork happen pretty much at any point?

I'm Canadian and I used Kraken. Once my account was verified on Kraken and I had the proper tier, I was able to transfer bitcoin to my Kraken account and then have it transferred to my regular, every day bank account that uses Canadian dollars. I only did this with a small amount to see the process occur.

Interesting to see this post from 2015 now, given the nature of bitcoin in 2017.

If bitcoin continues to do well and climb, people will likely look back at struggles and changes from 2017 and discuss what a huge year 2017 was for bitcoin

Looks like a really interesting project.

What sports are you featuring on your platform?

Hi bitcoinjames6! We will be offering all sports betting markets offered by traditional sportsbooks on FansUnite.io. Markets will range from eSports to horse racing, to NFL, to English Premier League, to third division Swedish Football (soccer).

Thanks for letting me know.

What about prop bets? Are you guys going to be offering those, or are you going to be doing more traditional bets?
