hi everyone

i want to get my hands on any hardware - bulk - group buys whatever... it just seems so complicated. trying to chase up the resellers, they're in business one second out the next.

Who is in the UK and sells mining equipment in bulk?

I've had about 30 tabs open trying to find out the last few hours...

Made me chuckle Tongue

Good job though thanks for the confirmation Smiley

man, bank wire transfer just doesn't seem fun at all.  and i have to supply passport (or other ID), proof of residence... screw that!

With all the payment processing gateways you'd think you could just deposit cash with your creditcard? so many options exist.

that's the only thing stopping me right now, otherwise i would have bought some LTC & NMC.

gutted right now

Re: How to convince my family to invest in Bitcoins?

I personally stay away from "Advising" family members to buy into investments. You don't wanna get into that territory if things don't turn out well. Instead i provide them with "consultation" and leave them to decide on their own.

RESPECT. I'm taking that on board starting now!

All the accounts seem to require endless sign ups for different services... What's people go to service for depositing in BTC-e?

That or what's your go to service for trading? I'm looking for simple / reliable...

Thank you in advance everyone

Raspberry Pi is incompatible with USB 3. Found out the hard way Sad I'm still looking for the best price point / quality / power. So far DLink from Amazon.co.uk seems to be the best

I'll check out scan.co.uk never heard of it before

thank you everyone

p.s. UK bitcoin mining community needs a meet up

UK / ENGLAND recommended USB hubs for USB ASIC erupters

Hi everyone

So far the most recommended USB hubs seems to be this D Link 7 port hub with 5v 3Amp plug: http://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Link-DUB-H7-Port-USB-External/dp/B0002AFZVM

Now in the USA it seems a lot of people are using Rosewill RHB-520 - 10 ports 5v 3.5Amp: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182257

If you live in the UK what are you using?

Trying to locate the best pricing / reliability

Thank you in advance everyone

Re: unexpected discovery... MacBook Pro powering 7 USB Erupters

Is it USB 3.0?

I know USB 2.0 standards are 500ma per port but USB 3.0 can go up to all the way up to 5A
Seeing that it is a Mac I bet they make each port at least 2.1 Amp to be able to charge the iPad on it.

Edit: A lot of USB 2.0 ports have high Amps to enable you to charge your phone etc... Often it is 1 dedicated port on your laptop that will have a lightning bolt on top of it.

yeah this is a MBP mid-late 2012 with USB3... that explains a lot about allowing for the ipad to charge

Thought I'd give it a try before putting them on a USB powered hub through an old windows pc.

Got these beautiful babies off amazon.co.uk

separated the individual usb ports with a bit of cardboard, stuck an elastic band around them and voila!

Re: I bought a miner from a friend..

You could have probably gone higher but $500 seems fair on eBay.

Prices on eBay for mining equipment is pretty volatile right now.  I'm considering dumping my 30+ USB miners because they are going for so high.  What do you think would be a ridiculous price for 30 USB Miners, Hubs and Fans?

are you in the US or UK?

Yes that's why I ask. I hate to use a service that starts getting bad rep... I heard one guy was waiting more than 5 days to withdraw :/

I'll check out cryptsy, thank you
