Re: Ultimate Beginners Guide To Bitcoin

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate there are numerous guides like this out there, but a lot of them i've come across I found a little bit hard to digest. I hope this guide at least helps a few people.

I don't believe that the time for these kinds of guides has passed, quite the oppposite actually. Sure, Bitcoin is very familiar to us, but its still a technology in its infant stages and still hasn't been adopted by the masses yet.

Ultimate Beginners Guide To Bitcoin
by
bitcoinrewardowner
on 08/12/2018, 18:10:16 UTC
Hey all,

Since everything is doom and gloom lately due to the price drop I thought I would share a recent blog post I did.

This may be really basic information for some, but for those who don't really 'get' Bitcoin and whats its all about, there is hopefully some useful information in here Smiley It's essentially a beginners guide explaining the basics behind Bitcoin, mining, private & public keys, etc etc.

https://www.bitcoinreward.net/blog/the-ultimate-beginners-guide-to-bitcoin/

Hope someone finds some use from this, enjoy!

Who's worrying exactly?

The price is either going to rise, or go down, that we can be certain of.

It's funny how all the Mr hindsights are out in force today. Let's face it, nobody predicting this would happen, when we were sat steady at $6200 - $6500 for months nobody mentioned a huge drop was coming. Now all of a sudden Bitcoin drops down to $4400 and everyones piping up saying "i told you this was coming" or "you should have sold in January" blar blar blar.

Both sides are full of crap, people who say this is going to down to $1000 and also people saying you should buy now because these prices are great.

My advice - if you need to unlock the capital in your bitcoin, by all means sell it now. But don't be too disapointed if this downtrend suddenly turns around in the coming weeks. Nobody knows if its going to tank down to $1000 or if its going to swing around and we're due another bull run before xmas.

Personally i'll be sitting on the sidelines watching with interest.

Bitcoin is the ONLY coin.

When the shitcoin fiasco finally dies out in the coming years, Bitcoin will still be standing!

It could take some time before bitcoin hits $20,000 again, I very much doubt it will be this year.

In fact, we may experience further drops before we hit another bull market again.

But, there is lots of upcoming developments for bitcoin so the next year or 2 will be exciting for sure and I expect much higher prices are on the horizon.

Re: For BTC to live SHITCOINS needs to die

Totally agree regarding shitcoins. It's amazing how many cryptocurrencies there are right now, 99% of which are just clones of each other. Only a small handful have anything unique / usable about them. The rest are living on borrowed time, the market will soon realise how useless they are and they're going to die hard.

So many 'experts' here claiming they know where the price is going to in the coming years  Roll Eyes

Nobody truly knows whether Bitcoin will succeed as a global payment system, or if it will crash and burn and fade into nothing.

Personally I don't see any scenario where Bitcoin hits $0 and becomes obsolete, there is too much already invested into it, not to mention the it has all the hallmarks of a succesfully future global currency, only politics can slow it down now.

Re: What am I to do?

There is a lot of dangerous advice being given here. If you think that the entire market is just going to eventually pick and recover you're very much mistaken.

Some alt coins will enevitablly die out. This is an unprecidented time where anyone can copy a cryptocurrency core code distribution and market their own alt-coin. The vast majority of these have very little practical use, or at least simply mimic what another 100 altcoins are already doing.

I see a time come where most altcoins will be worth nothing and only a few remaining will stand below Bitcoin itself.

The bottom line is - there are going to be lots of people who will lose a FORTUNE in the coming years through investing in altcoins. It is akin to investing in a start-up stock market such as AIM, 95% of shares on this index will crash and burn, sure, you might make some money along the way if you're lucky enough to sell on the spikes, but history has shown us that most of these companies will have their share price plummet and never recover, I expect the same kind of thing will happen to the alt-coin market.

I agree, in fact 2018 has been great for Bitcoin, the price might not reflect it, but the stability of the market has been very impressive. We've hovered between $6000 - $6500 for some time now, this tells me that there is a real core market investment that is holding firm and this includes many stable businesses that deal with Bitcoin on a day-to-day basis. Onwards and upwards from here, 2019 should be a good year for Bitcoin, and with the lightning network just round the corner, things should get very exciting.

Re: Is Bitcoin too difficult to understand?
by
bitcoinrewardowner
on 05/11/2018, 11:17:25 UTC
Very very few of the people who use Bitcoin will actually properly understand all the technical details of it, but that doesn't mean it can't be a valuable asset. I still think that general public don't even grasp the basic concept of Bitcoin either though.

There is a lot of mystery still surrounding Bitcoin for the average Joe. That is why a lot of people still associate Bitcoin with 'ponzi scheme' and other bad things, simply because they don't understand it. It's hard for people to get their head around the idea that a virtual commodity can actually be worth real world 'money'. But times are changing fast, its the same principle that the original implementation of the Internet had, everybody thought that this will never catch on and never be big, but now look at us.

Give it 10 years, the Bitcoin ecosystem will be a VERY different thing and people will have started to get their head around how Bitcoin works even at the most basic level, I think this is the time where will be see a very big re-rate in terms of the price and market value as a whole.

Hi,

we don't currently pay out to faucethub, it is something we are considering implementing though. Our payout is quite low (25,000 satoshi) and we feel most people can reach this level without too much effort, We give 2500 satoshi for just entering your bitcoin address and confirming an email so its just another 22,500 satoshi to earn.

Thanks
