i finally got my account back, because of the new account recovery process.

Is there any way to remove the negative trust i asked for, when my account got hacked, to avoid other users getting scammed?

so to sum it up:
- the site gives no feedback and/or email that your registration went through > i guess thats where most of the confusion comes from
- the login can take quite a while

overeall i would recommend to add some feedback to the login & register parts.

no it does not. im trying to register since yesterday and it just keeps getting stuck, when "register" is pressed the button turns orange but nothing happens.

personally i have no idea if the halving will have any effect on the price.

if you look at longer term charts it looks like the halving was priced in during november 2015. Before that, btc was trading roughly between 200-300, since november it is traded between 400-500. we will see

a friend of mine who plays in a band, told me about their problems distributing music without a label.

i thought there must be some plattform where bitcoin is heavily integrated (including benefits like less middleman fees).

is there anything out there where artists can put up there music for digital sales using bitcoin?

just for info, faircoin is not on the coinmarketcap frontpage anymore because volume is too low.

it can only go to zero if a major flaw is found in the protocoll or the encryption is easily hackable some day in the future.

if nothing like this happens i would bet a lot that it never goes to zero again.

i just want to get some inspiration and avoid my own tunnel vision really. normally i would just talk to friends for this kinda "brainstorming" thing, but sadly they are not as interested in those topics so it doesnt really make sense.

also.. it's not about what's easiest, it is about whats interesting and fulfilling.

ps.: i also wanted to find out if there are some fields in crpyo/btc that need research to be done, sort of helping out on that.

thanks for your answer! the thing with mathematics is, i am coming from the wrong side, mainly economics and got into mathematics later on, so i think i might miss some skills in math if its gonna be a deep dive in mathematical cryptography, im sure there are a lot of smart real mathematicans working on that. (not saying i wouldnt be up for it!)

But i like the topic of choosing the right chain and connecting it this way, didnt think about that.

can you think of any topics related to "mathematical cryptography"? (something related to random number generating would also fit)

(one of my more economical idea is e.g. doing a math fairness analysis on bitcoin mining/distribution and what fairness properties it fullfills compared to traditional money)

im getting stuck with finding the right topic for a master thesis..

It has to be somewhat "soft" mathematical and/or economic:
- graph theory
- linear programming
- computational modeling
- collective welfare
- Voting Procedures
- fair division problems (group decision and negotiation)
- matching and market design
- social choice theory & related
- game theory

Maybe someone of you have inputs on how to integrate bitcoin/cryptocurrency into one/more of these topics and/or more concrete ideas for a specific topic? Can be theoretical or incorporate programming.

Obviously i have ideas myself, but i would really love to get some unbiased suggestions.

it depends how you define money..

bitcoin is certainly a medium of exchange, to me it also fullfills the store of value attribute regardless of volatility.

the thing you can argue most about, is the unit of account property, because stuff is always priced back to another currency like USD and BTC is not really used as the accounting currency, except for altcoin markets mbe.


i wouldnt worry about things like officially accepted money by law (legal tender), as most of the $/€ we use is technically not official money, its just created by banks out of thin air and is not issued by the fed or ECB. (in reality we have 2 seperated money cycles)
