I would suggest you to take a look on AppCoins (https://appcoins.io) an Ethereum based crypto coin for the app industry backed by a company with 200 million users worldwide.

Re: Your favourite ongoing/upcoming ICOs

My favorite ICO is ongoing: AppCoins. It is a crypto asset aimed for the app economy and backed by a 200 million users company. Their goal is to solve some big issues in the app industry, such as advertising and in-app purchase. I read their white paper and it is interesting how they approach the three main players in the app ecosystem (developers, user and OEM). You might consider taking a look at it: https://appcoins.io/

Re: What is the future of ERC 20 tokens and Fork Coins?
by
bitlayer
on 19/12/2017, 11:27:47 UTC
Since ERC20 is a protocol standard for trading, I believe the future of such tokens depends on their quality and of the product they are related to. Taking for example, AppCoins, a crypto asset for the app economy. They are aimed for an industry that forecasts to double in value and users by 2020, so projections are that it will increase its value on the next few years. As for fork coins, considering all the trouble involved on software update and all, I think they are trickier to work with.

Maybe you could also consider adding some utility tokens to your investment portfolio. With all the pressure governments are putting in cryptocurrencies, might be worth a try. I suggest you check AppCoins, Raiden and OmiseGo.

Are you familiar with the AppCoins project? It is an ethereum based crypto asset aimed for the app economy, backed by a 200 million user company. They have a solid team behind it and already an MVP being tested. The ICO started last week and is still in the bonus phase. Minimum investment is of USD 10, which can buy you around 100 tokens, making it one of the under $1 altcoins you are looking for.  Wink

Have you heard about AppCoins? It is an ethereum based crypto asset for the app economy, backed by a 200 million users company. It may be worth to take a look, since the ICO started last week and they are still in the bonus phase. Also the minimum investment is low (USD 10), making it very accessible to everyone.

Re: Which Altcoins you believe can go to the mainstream market in the comming years?
by

I'm not sure mainstream is the proper word when talking about altcoins but I believe that, considering the pressure governments are doing on cryptocurrencies and ICOs, the future is for the utility tokens that can become highly adopted, even if in a niche industry. Good examples would be Raiden, AppCoins and OmiseGO.

Re: Tips on choosing the right ICO

As others said, I consider the utility of the token and founders, advisors, technical teams. I also tend to give more credibility to those that already have a solid product. For that reason I would recommend to take a look at the AppCoins project, a rare case of an ICO with a 200 million user base worldwide: https://appcoins.io/

Re: How can buy some altcoin??
by
bitlayer
on 18/12/2017, 12:30:38 UTC
The first step should be going to a cryptocurrency exchange (you can find a list that is not only for Ethereum here: https://coincentral.com/how-to-buy-ethereum/). But it really depends on which altcoin you intend to buy. As some recent ICOs are working on ERC20 tokens, you might need to buy ETH and then transfer to a wallet before doing the final purchase. At least that is how it works for some projects, like AppCoins. Keep in mind, though, that you may have to keep the tokens for a while before being able to trade them.

Re: Which Altcoin are you going to invest in now?
by
bitlayer
on 18/12/2017, 12:15:05 UTC
As I said in another thread, with the increasing pressure of governments on cryptocurrencies, I think we should take a closer look on application tokens that have a utility other than mere especulative growth. If they suceed to grow, then the attached cryptocoin will also grow. Tech based application tokens, such as Gameflip or AppCoins, are interesting to take a look. At least, this is what I am investing on now.

With the increasing pressure of governments on cryptocurrencies, I think it will be harder for altcoins to have the same increase bitcoin had. For that reason I would say that we should take a closer look on application tokens that have a utility other than mere especulative growth. If they suceed to grow, then the attached cryptocoin will also grow. Tech based application tokens, such as Raiden or AppCoins, are a good way to go, IMHO.

Re: ICO is officially banned in China !!!

I think regulatory moves from governments are more than expected with the growing interest on ICOs and cryptocurrencies. As some people may consider those as measures to block these initiatives, considering the increase of scams I think this kind of thing can make people more aware of the risks involved and also more cautious before investing. That said, I'm taking a closer look on application tokens that have a utility other than mere especulative growth, such as AppCoins or OmiseGO, to name a few. I believe that this a solid way to go.

Not sure it was already mentioned in this thread, but I guess AppCoins is worth a look. They do have a team that can do the project; there is a MVP in the works (although internally, only; but you can see it on YouTube) and I'm not sure about the project being backed by a venture fund but I know that the company behind it (Aptoide) is.

Those were my thoughts also, but I did my research and decided to invest on AppCoins, since it is a utilitary token and not a cryptocoin itself. Now with the news of another country (Mexico) getting tough on cryptocurrencies and ICOs, I believe it was a clever choice. What do you think?
