Re: Any Player/Investor Skill Games?

I'm tired of all the ponzi, pyramid scams, gambling, guaranteed return games.

there are already games like poker and sports betting that require skills + luck and are not a ponzi scheme, there are dice games that are games that in my opinion require more luck than strategy... why don't you stick with those games? I saw a lot of people in that section trying to create a lot of new games that in the end became a ponzi scheme

Does a game like this currently exist?

check here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=56.0

maybe this game exists

Poker is a traditional card game. I'm hoping to find something that takes advantage of smart contract and not just for transparency purposes. Yea everyone is just going for a quick cash grab, and I think that is short sighted. A player vs player investment style skill game is what I'm looking for or hoping someone will design it.

Yea that link is all just gambling games from what I could tell from skimming.

Hello OP,

Have you ever heard of xaya.io? Last year I had an idea about a blockchain game and my experience with programming is very minimal.  Therefore I went out researching for a game developing Engine which would be easier to work with if you don't have much experience with coding.  About half way through, I kinda gave up because it was too far to reach. But if you are more ambitious than me, then I recommend checking out this site: https://xaya.io/learn/.

-Pho

I did notice xaya.io from of your other posts, but I think xaya is too new and having it on ETH blockchain has more potential.

Maybe you can find help in one of those two boards:
Project Development
Investor-based games
Describe the idea generally in a separate topic and mention that you are looking for partenership or investors looking for a good opportunity.

Note that your best option is to hire someone to develop the game and lunch it by yourself without the need to be  in partenership with anybody. If so, use this board to hire a dev: Services

Thanks.

I posted it here on the Investor-based games for more input.

Any Player/Investor Skill Games?

I'm tired of all the ponzi, pyramid scams, gambling, guaranteed return games.

Here is the game I'm looking for.

1. People who started earlier don't have any huge advantage. They may have made more money from starting earlier, but anyone entering later should have relatively the same income earning opportunities as someone who started at the beginning of the game. That means no tokens for dirt cheap at the beginning of the game just because they were lucky and spammed the app at the first possible opportunity or used a script to buy.

2. Money eventually stops getting sucked out of the system and only distributed to players. The developer can profit for a certain duration or something like first 5 games, then the dev no longer makes any money directly from the game.

3. Scripts have no huge advantage.

4. Anyone with just a small amount of crypto isn't severely disadvantaged when playing the game.

(I'll add more rules as I think of them.)

Does a game like this currently exist?

If this game doesn't exist, here's what I have in mind:
Investors (Whales) vs Players.
Players attempt to take money from Investors.
When the Player fails, the Investors make money.
Add strategy to make it fun.

I got an idea for a fun crypto skill game and have zero coding skill. Is there any place I can pitch this? Any game discussion groups with potential developers or a place where devs are looking for an interesting game project? What are possible next steps?

It's a high risk skill game and could be considered "gambling."

Hey rentberry, would it be possible if you answered my question?

I can't verify my private key for token sale. My BTC was deposited from an exchange. The "Token Purchase Agreement" was not working and still not working on Cryptonomous so I thought Berry distribution would be handled from my Cryptonomous account. I found your Token Sales PDF later about needing the private keys.

What can be done?

Thanks.

Greetings bitliu,
We would advise to contact Cryptonomos support (support@cryptonomos.com) in this regards.

Thanks. I've done this and it appears Cryptonomos has a different Token verification policy than your team. After emailing Cryptonomos, they will allow us to use a ETH or BTC withdrawal address of our choice with no private key verification. Please correct your Terms of Token Sale by removing all mention of "verifying private key." This process has been confusing and worrisome for potential investors like myself.

Personally I think this just proves my point further, we shouldn't be dealing with some little known 3rd party for investing into this company.  I'm still waiting to hear back from somebody as to why they are asking for KYC information long after receiving investment funds...it makes one very uncomfortable sharing such personal information with a 3rd party who really has no need or justification for asking for stuff like this, maybe I'm still missing something here but sure feels "off" to me.

Here is my guess. They used a copy and paste token sale form and never bothered removing that KYC and private key parts. All of that makes sense if they're not using a 3rd party. But since they are, none of that info should be required. I'm trying to get clarification if that's the case.

I was taking a look through Rentberry token sale terms and whitepaper. Big red flags (at least to me) appeared  Shocked. Asking for wallet private key which I would never give out and would avoid anyone who would ask. I'll be giving this a pass.

Straight out of their token sale terms:

"Contributions to be made in ETH must be sent from an Ethereum wallet in
respect of which you can identify your private key. Your private key shall be
required to verify your ETH contribution to Rentberry and to enable Rentberry to
issue BERRY Tokens to you
through the Smart Contract System."

-Similar in regards to bitcoin contributions.

"Risk of Losing Access to BERRY Tokens Due to Loss of Private Key(s).
BERRY Tokens purchased by you may be held in a digital wallet or vault, which requires a private
key or a combination of private keys for access. Accordingly, loss of requisite private key(s)
associated with your digital wallet or vault storing BERRY Tokens will result in loss of such BERRY
Tokens, as well as access to your BERRY Token balance. Moreover, any third party that gains
access to such private key(s), including by gaining access to login credentials of a hosted wallet or
vault service you use, may be able to misappropriate your BERRY Tokens. Rentberry is not
responsible for any such losses
."

I would advise anyone to use Extreme Caution as we all should know to never trust anyone with our private keys.

You have been warn, but if you really want to participate even after reading this: the least you should do is set up and use a new secondary wallet. Then, deposit into the secondary wallet only the amount that you wish to contribute. Added protection to anyone participating, transfer tokens right away if distributed. Be safe and good luck.

Is there any administrator of this ICO that wants to say something regarding this issue? I think he's got a point...

This is actually quite an issue, I was just about to ask how can I get my rentberry tokens off of cryptonomos, but now I understand that it will ask for the private key of the wallet I used to buy them..  Definitely not the most ideal of procedures, but I guess anything can be moved out of that wallet before giving them the private key.  Still would also love to hear from a team member on what this is all about.

I didn't read this and used an exchange to send to ICO sale and used BTC. It's expensive to send to my wallet and send to ICO sale. Also This is my first time supporting ICO sale... and I didn't read the Terms of Service that closely. Even if I used ether, I'd still have the same problem because I don't think I can access private keys from my Ledger Nano S. Is this standard of asking for private keys for ICO sale? Maybe a warning about having access to private keys before buying would be nice? Am I screwed? Can I get a refund so I can buy it correctly. Thanks!

Ummm....regarding the above point. My interpretation is all it saying is that you should make sure you hold onto the private keys of the ETH address that you sent Ether from- which of course you would always need to do. I don't think it saying that you will have to hand over your private keys.

The Tokens Sales PDF says:

Contributions to be made in ETH must be sent from an Ethereum wallet in
respect of which you can identify your private key. Your private key shall be
required to verify your ETH contribution to Rentberry and to enable Rentberry to
issue BERRY Tokens to you through the Smart Contract System.
ETH
contributions shall be sent to the Ethereum wallet address specified on the
Token Launch website.
25
d. Contributions to be made in BTC shall be sent from a Bitcoin wallet in respect of
which you can identify your private key. Your private key shall be required to
verify your Bitcoin contribution to Rentberry and to enable Rentberry to issue
BERRY Tokens to you through the Smart Contract System.
BTC contributions
shall be sent to the Rentberry Bitcoin wallet address specified on the Rentberry
website.

I can't verify my private key. It was sent from an exchange. Why is not using my Cryptonomous account enough verification? They can't send my Berry tokens to my Cryptonoums account so I can withdraw them?
