You can try to run under linux with you rig, if you are not savvy enough too configure & compile your cgminer for your rig, You can download the latest version of BAMT,it has all the latest versions of cgminer, sgminer, vertminer, etc... You just need to know how too "burn" a .img file 2 a USB stick, you can use a 2gb USB stick & restart your rig with it, see if you like it or if you don't like it, you can just restart your rig under windows...

i have several rigs but the smallest one has 2 radeon 7950 & runs at about 190 kh/s per card, so 140 for your R9 280 is low, will run much faster under linux & cooler
