diff 162K ?

am i missing something? Undecided

Edit:  i guess the high hash is because the reward is doubled for 5 days.

Personally im not going to bother with this coin.  50%  annual interest makes it worthless as a currency.  Should have called it Zimbabwe Coin.

If it was called Zimbabwe Coin, it would imply the 50% annual interest goes to a central authority. The people holding the coins get the interest so I don't see a problem. Even if the interest rate causes the price of a coin to fall, what's the difference if you get more coins so you end up with the same value?

Re: What are the pros and cons of coding an alt-coin in C#?
by

You wouldn't be able to use Bitcoin's source code as a starting point without major work and you won't be able to easily implement improvements made to Bitcoin. Performance may be an issue, C# uses garbage collection, which introduces unnecessary overhead. There are ways to use C++ classes in a C# program, this might be an option but I don't have experience mixing C# and C++ to know if it's a good idea.

Re: solo LTC mining settings help
by

Lookin to see if anyone knows the best solo LTC settings, ive been solo'ing for 13 days, and no block, got close yesterday with 52.9M/~59M diff, but no block.
i have 24 active connections, 6.5Mhash, scantime: 10 Queue:1 expiry:120.
I am gonna go a few more days, but with this kind of luck, I will surely be moving back to pool asap. Sad

Not worth it.  Use a pool.
i know. lol. if i dont find a block in a day or 2 im going back.

With 6.5Mh/s, you have an 85% chance of finding a block in 14 days.
yeah, thats why im still soloing lol. im already up in the 80%=/- area.

Yeah, with so much time invested already, I wouldn't stop till I find a block.

You're pretty much guaranteed one in the next few days anyways.

False. Finding a block is like flipping a coin, getting a heads is no more likely whether the last ten flips were all heads or all tails. Also as difficulty rises, you become less and less likely to find a block, regardless of if you have found many blocks or no blocks at all.

Registered mail adds an additional $12.95 to the postage price. It will also cost more if he adds a return receipt or sends it as Priority Mail instead of First-Class.

Just be fair smoothie. If you can ship a coin for $11 don't charge 4 times the price or 6 or whatever.

It is sort of ironic, these coins represent freedom from repressive systems... or so I thought....

He only wants to ship registered mail so people can't complain they never got it, even if they did. That costs more than $11.

I think Id rather have the coin funded when I make a purchase, rather than wait and hope again it gets funded, after waiting eagerly to see if I get the coins in the first place.

If the coin is pre-funded and somehow gets lost in the mail, there is a risk that someone else now has access to the private key. A replacement would require shipping a new coin and funding an additional wallet address.

I believe Casascius shipped coins unfunded but would fund them regardless of if they were lost so you could trust that every unopened coin held its declared BTC value.

Instead of going crazy with security, why not get your equipment covered by your homeowners insurance? A camera won't do you any good if your house catches fire or floods.

Is ordering still open for batch 1?

Seriusly? someone is mining the Novacoins code with a NAME CHANGE? WTH people!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing surprises me anymore. Certified retards compiling 21 months old code with a namechange in the git and mining like crazy on a dead blockchain. GO ALTCOINS! GO RETARDS!

Feathercoin was so last week. This week it's YaCoin.

I'll sell you 5000 BQC for 8 BTC. You can trust me as I've been making trades with BQC many times the past few days. We can also do in smaller increments if you would prefer.

Op (dev) is a junior member that instead of releasing started a poll on how the forums opinoin on pre-mining looked. Seems pretty legit..  HA HA

Except there was no premine. Almost all blocks were generated AFTER the link to the github source was posted on this thread.

DEEEEERP! It's not launched yet. Source is just a months old shitpile of code that hasn't even been updated. You mine with that, you might as well throw your CPU power into a lake.. ha ha

Meh, you can use YACv2 if it ever surfaces, I'll stick with YAC. YAC also supports GPU miners, I think most of us want to mine with our GPU. It's been way less gamed than the BTB launch.

The bitterness surrounding the fact that some of you may not be able to mine this early and then dump a ton of coins is funny.

No, it's cynicism around people taking advantage of the coin mania for their own benefit, rather than creating a fair playing field.

It's a fair playing field, go ahead and mine. Are you accusing us of being insiders? I hadn't heard of this coin until the announcement and didn't start mining until hours after others had.

This is some old repo  Roll Eyes It's just slightly modded nova. The "real" coin isn't released yet...

This is as real as it gets. Nothing else was released and there will likely not be anything else.
