Re: Who is promoting bitcoin for purchasing goods and services?

I have an online retail shop on etsy And in the interest of accepting BTC as payment, I am going to undertake creating a word press website of my own, so that I can contribute to the growing number of merchants furthering the validity of this currency.

If anyone has done this before, or has a better suggestion than wordpress (keep in mind I am not a coder, but a layperson) I would appreciate any words of wisdom, experience on the subject of creating a site and making the conversion. Also any links to helpful sites would be appreciated as well.

Also, is anyone here is setting up an online marketplace that is a collective of sellers operating in bitcoins, this is also something I am interested in being a part of.

Fellow Bitcoin community,

Re: BTC Permissions stored in Wallet or Address? Wallet Reconstruction
by

OK I got it - thank you so much!

If I could trouble you for one more question, I've been searching for an answer on-- Is it possible to print out a backup of a hard wallet (eg. bitcoin QT or litecoin QT) -even if it is an extremely long string paragraph or page of characters- that you could use to restore your wallet after hand typing out each one?
This would be as a safety, in case your hard drive, flash drive, and all digital copies failed.

I want to have a form of paper wallet that does not have to be created online -on a website I have no way of trusting to generate my private keys.

Thank you for any and all advice.

Re: [GIVEAWAY] DividendRippler.com Beta Testing
by

[my question was answered - but I wanted to leave this up for any one else with the same question]

I have ripple wallet, with XRP - I added the  DividendRippler.com contact correctly -
I only have the option of "trusting" DividendRippler.com for BTC (which I have done)-- But I see no option to trust LTC or TRC.

Answer: to type in LTE and TRC - it doesn't matter if they are not in the drop-down menu

***

I Registered and sent 1XRP to Dividend Rippler.com -

Ripple address is: r3z24N1mAS7EQBeswjHUr6T7rNiNUbqu8e

sent!

You'll need to say LTC (not LTE) or the tx will go to error for insufficient trust

BTC: 0.022 (3fdbd35bfc) LTC: 0.42 (0162be7fe5 ) TRC: 3.386 (525b27c56e)

Thanks! got it! Yes, typo in here- but not in ripple Smiley

This is my Ripple receive address. I'm a little lost here, I have no XRP and trying to figure out how to get some.

Registered on RD, but it says I have 5 minutes to send XRP...but I can't figure out how to get the XRP to send.

I'm sure I'll figure it out soon, if this post is useless please disregard.

You have to have XRP already to take part in this beta

- try the buy/sell forum if you want to buy some ripples for your account (keep in mind your first deposit into ripple must be 300 XRP or more)   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

I have ripple wallet, with XRP - I added the  DividendRippler.com contact correctly -
I only have the option of "trusting" DividendRippler.com for USD and BTC (which I have done)-- BUt I see no option to trust LTC or TRC.
Proceeded with the rest of the steps anyway- registered and sent 1XRP to you- let me know if I need to go back in and add trust for LTC and TRC

Please advise. Ripple address is: r3z24N1mAS7EQBeswjHUr6T7rNiNUbqu8e
Just input "TRC" and "LTC" in field where USD and BTC when granting trusts. I did it that way.

Thank you! it worked!! Smiley

When I try to  "Trust DividendRippler.com for the currencies in the amount you wish to use. (BTC, LTC and TRC). "
It only has options to grant trust for UDS and BTC, which I have done.

Please advise - how do we grant trust for LTC and TRC?

true. but if you google btc-e.com reviews, all you get is angry people whose money has gone missing or who have contacted customer support and not heard back for over a week, etc.

I wish I could feel comfortable going through btc-e.com - it just seems too risky

We need a better solution

Re: Mining BTC dead? Mining LTC Alive for how long?
by
bitrainbow
on 22/04/2013, 20:56:24 UTC
BTC mining is dead? Huh, that must be why the difficulty is the highest it's ever been. Oh, and the price is 10x what it was a year ago.

The only thing that might be dead is SOLO mining, which now makes it next to impossible to find a block on your own unless you have a massive chunk of the hashrate.

Actually, BTC mining with a pool is more profitable than ever right now. You might be mining fewer coins, but those coins are worth a heck of a lot more.

Yes, that is exactly what everyone is saying (about the impossibility of finding a block)-- How safe is mining for a pool? Should they be checked out first?

I like the name hardcoin too.

Also, theres really no need to take paypal. Most people who would want the physical coins would already have some crypto currency.

Alternately, if you wanted, you might be able to work with bitinstant, and receive cash transfers through moneygram for orders over a certain amount. Then you get the funds almost immediately, and they can't be reversed.
