We made a change so that a players name will show in trees.
When running past it might still be hard to notice so trees still provide some cover advantage but it stops players being able to camp for hours in a tree and then just shoot new players who leave.

The website is not too bad but I suppose its still very fresh as after checking it out only 2 players were seen online. This though should improve with time if the team is on it, anyways will check in for updates  Grin

Checked back in, now that I was looking in more detail at how the project is described I see one major challenge. This challenge consists of the number of players, in the description of how the game works there must be 99 players and the top 5 will then be chosen and have the tokens allocated, but the problem is that because the platform has just been launched there are yet not enough players, thus at the moment it seems to me like the burden has been shifted in a way to the players because if they're excited to play they'd invite friends etc. Based on this interpretation, first the game can't yet be played properly since there aren't enough players, and secondly, the burden of community expansion seems to be a player's burden - one which, in my opinion, the team should be mainly responsible for by allocating the necessary resources to do so.

I do not expect a comment, this is purely my observation!

The game ends after there has been 100 entrants and everyone has been killed.

You can also re-enter after you die.

You could go in the game, kill 10 players and then leave and still win 1st prize plus the 10 kill bonuses.

You can speed the games up and earn more by inviting others to play with you.

People have been doing this and we have paid a few hundred dollars in prizes already. You could earn more on this than in faucet if you are smart about it.

We will be doing bigger paid ads soon, just waiting on finishing more features and mobile version first.

So in this manner as you describe what I understand is that anyone can enter the game at any time and if by chance they happen to enter the game when one player has done most of the job, the last one could essentially come in and claim the reward.

No. You can enter at any time and rack up kills and get points. If you have enough kills to be in top 5 you get an EXTRA bonus at the end. But you don't need to sit from start to finish.

To be honest I am confused with everyone in this thread.

When I am testing features I open up two browsers and kill my own characters over and over. I can finish a game in less than 3-4 minutes this way and will 99*100 satoshi for the kills plus 10000 satoshis for 1st prize.

This is far more than people earn on dice faucets in that time so I don't know why there's not lots of people just doing that Sad

Hi

We've updated the game mode. Now there is no waiting area and there is an in game leaderboard where the top 5 players with the highest score at the end of a game win the bonus prizes.
This should help with the problem of few players playing as you don't need to all join within the 30 second window.
It should also encourage players to play instead of camping until the end as there is no last longer prize and players with the most kills get the bonuses.
To spice it up a little more your score gets cut in half if you die!

I have read all replies and updated the OP and added an FAQ to answer all questions posted in this thread. I have also added this to the website.

Here's the FAQ. Hopefully that helps. If there's any other questions or something I missed let me know and I will add it...

good update. I've been playing with some other people and we got to the end of the round with just 2 players left, me and some other guy i could not find. he was probably afk in a tree because I was looking for him for a solid thirty minutes.

I recommend you make the trees toxic/cause damage once no more players can join the round.

also, the more people who joined the game, the more the game lagged. it was noticeable and effected game play consistently.

Hi
I saw that game running just now.

What I think we can try is have the radiation move in to cover the whole map say after 90 entrants are in the game? That means anyone just hiding in trees would be killed eventually.

I will look in to the lag too. There's a lot of improvements on the todo list that would help with that. It will take maybe the whole week or two to get through all them though Sad

Were you signed in to any social accounts at the time? If so pm me your id and I can update your balance if it wasn't credited.

Any other suggestions you have from you or friends are greatly appreciated. We have really big plans for this over the next 6 months including total graphics overhaul and better characters. We just needed to test the concept first and get all the initial issues out the way Smiley

if it helps. it seems the lag get worse when i am using the arrow keys to move around. going straight/using just one key to go in one direction is usually fine. but when i start to get creative with 2 or more key movements within a second the lag starts to freeze things up for a bit.

also, having the dangerzone shrink the safety zone is a great idea for the end game!

don't worry about the payment. i just wanted to give some feedback. I like your game, can't wait to see how it progresses.

Added a small change so that diagonal movement is sent to the server as one command instead of both left and up for example. That might stop lag a little.
Also added a little punch animation

I'm thinking we could run some "happy hour" promos where the prizes are like 100 satoshis per kill instead of 1 and the leaderboard prizes can go up to 10,000 satoshis.

What time of the day would people prefer if they are interested?

Here's the FAQ. Hopefully that helps. If there's any other questions or something I missed let me know and I will add it.

FAQ:

Does the game work on phones?

No. The game only runs in browsers on desktop computers and laptops. We are currently developing a mobile version which you can download to you mobile soon.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and payment network. It allows anyone to send money to anyone in the world without 3rd parties or banks. Find out more here https://bitcoin.org/en/

How do I withdraw Bitcoin?

You can withdraw Bitcoin to your own wallet by clicking your balance on the homepage. You will be asked to enter your Bitcoin address and amount. A small fee will be taken to cover the miner fee when sending your Bitcoin.

What is a satoshi?

1 satoshi = 0.00000001 Bitcoin.

I joined but see no players?

We just launched the game and have been running an early access version. You will find more players in game as our advertising increases. You can help grow the community by inviting friends to play.

What is the difference between entrants and players?

Each game can have up to 100 entrants playing. If you see 25 / 100 entrants it means 25 players have joined the game so far. The players count is the number of players still alive in the game.

Why are the prizes so low?

The game is in early access mode and so the prizes are small to begin with until we get a better estimate of our income from ad revenue and costs of running the game. We will increase the prizes in the near future. Currently every time you kill a player you are rewarded 1 satoshi.

Do you plan to add entry fee games?

Yes! We will add a separate tournament mode where players can pay an entry fee to join. All fees collected will be added to a prize pool and split between the top scorers in the game.

Why should I log in?

You do not need to log in to play. However if you would like to save your stats and earn Bitcoin you must login. We need to be able to confirm you are a real person and not someone creating hundreds of different accounts to win Bitcoin. If we find users who are multi accounting then their balance will be confiscated and no pending withdrawals will be processed.

What data do you collect and what do you do with it?

When you login we get your Twitter or Facebook Id (a unique identifying account number), your display name and your email address. We don't do anything except use the Id to verify your account the next time you login so that you can see your stats or withdraw your prize Bitcoin. We may use your email address in future for promotions or contacting you in the unlikely event there is a problem with your account.

Can you post on my timeline, see friends list, read private messages or see my phone number?

We do not request access to any of this kind of data from Facebook or Twitter.

Your website says,

Quote
For every player you kill you will earn 1 Satoshi.

If you finish the game in rank 1-5 you will earn a bonus prize up to 100 Satoshis

Are you serious?? I understand that you are not charging any entry fee and earning only from advertisements. But having a little entry fee and sharing it among the winners will make the winnings more attractive and possibly attract more players!

Later on, his page is full of ads and you will be confused which one is the real content of his page.
Yes, it is better to have a small entry fee rather than to have an annoying website because of too much ads.

The website is not too bad but I suppose its still very fresh as after checking it out only 2 players were seen online. This though should improve with time if the team is on it, anyways will check in for updates  Grin

His leaderboard says, they have more than 2 players that tried out this site though there are only 2 online players at this time.
At least add an FAQ section so players will know more about this game.

The website only has 2 small ads on the homepage and it's very easy to see how to play the game as the ads don't get in the way.
There are no ads in the game.

We will be updating the FAQ section today when we upload the new in game leaderboard changes

Latest changes:
We have removed the lobby/game starting area!

Now everyone joins the current running game.
There can be up to 100 players in a game.

The game ends when the last player has been killed AFTER 100 entrants have joined.
If you die you can rejoin the current game if it is not full.

After a game has had 100 entrants or the virus has covered the whole map then new players will join a new game.

This means that new players who join will more likely have someone to kill or play against.

The last longest prizes have been removed so this mode encourages players to hunt down and kill each other, there is no benefit to camping now.

You still get 1 sat for every player you kill (prizes will increase in future).

The player movement has also been made faster.

What's next?
Either later today or tomorrow we will add in in game leaderboard that will show the top 5 players who have the most kills.
These top 5 players will be paid the bonuses prizes after a game ends.

Let me know what you think of these changes

I can not see any ads in the game. But there is no one here which we can play game with.
I think you should run a good marketing campaign. I am sure if the players number increase, then you can see the real hype here.

You won't see ads in the game while playing. Only on the homepage and some other pages when you are not playing.
If you have ad block you won't see ads either. Though it helps if you whitelist it for this site Wink

Right now, you have a problem of lacking players that are playing, maybe you should add a bit of bots into the game so that its never a long waiting period. I have tried to play the game and joined the lobby but I was the only player and had to wait couple minutes and there was still no other player so I quit, I am sure others would do the same, they would join and wait a while but if no one else joins than they would probably leave too and you will never have enough players.

However, if you add some bots and people could play no matter how many real players there are than you can actually have some people coming in all the time from playing and eventually replace the bots. That's at least what I can think of, if you have any better idea to bring in more players you can do that too.

Thanks for the feedback.
I really didn't want to do bots as I wanted player vs real players.

However I think I have a good idea we can try.

Get rid of the waiting area.

When you click play you join the current running game. People can continue to join the same game at any time until there has been a total of 100 players in the game.
Instead of paying bonuses to the last remaining players we can pay bonuses to the 5 players with the most kills after 100 players have joined and died. We can show a leaderboard in game

On top of that we can also allow players to rejoin the same game if they die and there hasn't been 100 players in the active game yet. But if they die they lose 50% of their points on leaderboard Smiley

What do you think?

p.s. I've updated the OP with more details of the game

It is probably a system based on receiving and distributing its revenues through advertisements. Such systems are becoming more and more difficult under current conditions. And payments are starting to fail.

We've already paid out $70 to the players on leaderboard so far. Our payments are not failing.

Yes it is very fresh. We just released it.
We have plans to make a lot of updates including new weapons, characters, areas and graphics. As well as sound and customisation options.

This is just the first version to try and build the initial player base so that new visitors always have someone to play against.

It has nothing to do with gambling as it is just like a free game to earn small amount of satoshi so it should be moved to Micro Earning board unless there is a plan to make it like a real gambling where people are risking money to play against each others but I think it will be hard to make this game be provably fair.
Sorry to say but the earning of playing your game is too small, I believe free bitcoin hunters will prefer on claiming faucet instead of playing your game.

Hi
We are planning on adding a pay to enter mode, like in poker tournaments.
The current mode is like a freeroll free trial mode except you can still win Bitcoin.
The more people that play the more you can win.
Each game can have up to 100 players playing and we can run many games at the same time.

You could invite some friends to play and try it out. You get Bitcoin for each player you kill so the more people in game the more you stand to win :

We are going to add a paid entry mode soon.
Think like in poker where there are tournaments with multiple different buyin levels.
This initial version is like the freeroll mode.
Once we get feedback and build a small player base we can add the paid buyin modes.
Also note that the current prizes were set because we don't have a user base yet.
Once we have regular players playing we can increase the free to play prizes as we would be generating more income from ads with more players.

https://BitShowdown.io is a free to play 2d Multiplayer Battle Royale game.

You are stranded on a radioactive island with 99 other players. You must kill all other players while avoiding the hazard zones to survive. Break crates by punching or shooting to find guns and ammo.

Players earn Bitcoin with every kill. The top 5 players at the end of each game will win extra Bitcoin bonus prizes.

Controls:

Move with cursor keys or WSAD. Punch/Shoot with left mouse or F key.

Scoring:

You earn 1 point every time you kill another player. If you die your score halves. The top 5 players with a score above 0 at the end of the game will win bonus prizes:

    #1: 10000 satoshi
    #2: 5000 satoshi
    #3: 2500 satoshi
    #4: 1500 satoshi

    #5: 1000 satoshi
