I think we still have to wait till we cross again 610 mark, before that really not recommending buying.

So... Wait 'till the price goes up to buy? Do you also wait for the price to drop to sell?? Brilliant trading strategies..

very very few investors - even professional ones - are capable of behaving like Warren Buffett, and buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying. Most move with the herd and with conventional wisdom.

Well it still seems to me that conventional wisdom says buy low sell high. Not sell when it's getting higher and buy when it's getting lower. It just seems if you want to invest in something relatively safe you shouldn't even be looking at btc.

Re: Why bitcoin or any other mined coins won't work...

You seem to not realise the huge gaping ass flaw in your deduction.

If someone wants MORE, meaning more wealth / power. I understand the evil in this. Money is only worth what others value it for. So if someone wants power over the money, or wants to control all the pools, people will see this and the value of the money (or btc) will plummit.

Because pretty much 99% of people understand this (no offence), the one wanting power over the pools will understand it too (if they don't, they won't have the smarts to get it anyway), and thus realise that he/she will only hurt their wealth, not increase it..

Also, don't underestimate the 'power of the people'. BTC is decentralised, the masses have a huge influence.

Tadaa.

1 Timothy 6:10 The love of money is the root of all evil....

This is perhaps the most true saying I've heard.  The love of money (or power, prestige, etc) is the root of all evil.

One day, one entity will control all the pools, it's that simple.  All they need to do is make an offer that the pools cannot refuse.

I'm not sure if other mined cryptos are the same way since I don't have time to explore them.  But in the end, someone or entity is just going to take over bitcoin in a fascist way.

Well, your logic is absolutely flawless. I guess there's nothing left then.

Time to pack up guys, lets go home..

Re: Why is the BTC price dropping??
by

After the storm comes a calm, i heard some rumors that there would be a huge selling, or more correctly, an auction of BTC by the end of

this June. The very few people who knows this are selling before the price falls maybe to $400 or less, then it should rise to 600-700, maybe

1000 in a short while...

That's not a rumor, it's just news. There was a temporary drop when the news came out. Besides that, we even know who's bidding. Everybody knows about this.

"bubbles" aren't supposed to be predictable. The moment this "bubble watch" started and became ritualistic was a red flag.

True enough sometimes that does kill the market sentiment
Didn't happen on the meteoric rise to 1000+ though even though the forum kept saying it was going to pop for a while before it actually did though

No. I don't think so. The militants would have taken the bank officials hostage, and they would have then demanded the private keys them. And if that happens, the money is gone for ever. I could never be recovered.
You're implying that they know what a private key is.

You must be from the future then.

So, they will be sold super cheap? On what information did you base that idea?

Based on the fact that auctions are expensive, a big chunk of the amount goes to the auction house and i doubt the buyer will pay 15-20% extra for their bitcoins just to be that nice guy.

Based on the fact my belief that most people are greedy, only have their own fat wallet in mind and couldn't care less about others or the world that surrounds them.

1. How do you know they'll use an auction house for digital currency's. Since when does the buyer at an auction pay the up-price, that's usually the cost of the seller not the buyer.

2. So because people are greedy, they'll dump the coins? Most bidders are pro-bitcoin. And even if they weren't, they'd know that they could earn a lot more if they didn't dump them but sell them gradually, IF they wanted to do that. Considering they are mostly pro-btc, there is a high chance they'll hodl. I don't expect any significant dump to happen.

3. I expect the people bidding on the auction to be wealthy enough to see this as a small investment, it's not your average Joe bidding here. Therefore I expect them to have no reason to sell quickly.

Anyone who thinks this will not cause a crash is nuts.
Think about it, 30k btc will be sold super cheap, maybe anywhere between 50-80% of the current market price. This by itself won't have an effect, but as soon as the buyers receive those coins they will be dumped on the regular exchanges to take that difference as profit and we will see a big drop.
This drop will in turn cause a panic sell-off, so i suspect we'll end up anywhere between 200-300 USD soon. We can already see it coming down the past days, fear is grabbing a hold of people already even though nothing has happened.

You must be from the future then.

With all the news and media BTC is getting lately, there should be NO reason for BTC to drop below $600...

Seriously, go on /r/Bitcoin and daily there are new great news for Bitcoin daily.

I can understand if the price just stabilized at $600 but this downtrend is confusing me....

What downtrend? A 10 dollar drop is not a downtrend, it's just normal fluctuation. There are a bazillion reasons for BTC to drop below $600, just as there are reasons for the price to rise. It's worth what people are willing to pay for it.

the price has to start appreciating really soon, otherwise the massive number of holders will start losing patience

Sorry but I lold at this. Why do you think they decided to hodl? For short time selling? Your logic is flawed. Also, don't underestimate people, it's not like only retards are investing in btc.

Only people who do not believe in the future of bitcoin / cryptocurrencies will scare and sell, but I think that most of the btc holders don't see it that way.
