25M Augmented reality billboards have been added to the system. They solve the cold start problem of having no ads to match with users initially - low engagement.

With virtual billboards, the density of the system can be increased, the number of billboard operators increases dramatically and the incentives for users to participate shoot up.

Next month we will release couponing and online ads. Immediately after this we will go to mainnet with the full system. Currently we have about 15k social media followers across all the channels + 3k beta testers!

FYI, screen registrations are now open. Local ad booking goes live tomorrow on mainnet, plus additional tutorials and content will be published to guide users and developers.

We expect to launch with 1500 billboards and 4 million hours of ads. Right now we are getting about 10,00 uniques per day, so we hope to translate that into a healthy growth of 500-1000 smart screens added to the network each month.

In November, we'll push the Parra release. That's the one intended for agencies and large institutions. We expect the network to grow significantly then.

So, we have started pushing code to main net and test net. Here are some updates:

- 20M Faris have been minted. 10M of those will be distributed to the community via airdrops to incentivize network/wallet adoption, and this will happen over a multi-year period.
- 10M Faris are reserved for everything else: private investors, developers, marketing, and foundation treasury.
- 80M Faris will be minted as the network grows. Meaning they are reserved for screen operators, auditors, customers, etc.

As a reminder, the Fari token is deflationary with a 100M unit cap, no more will ever be minted (https://bitfari.org/token/).

This weekend we will start migrating a publishing a series of apps that will go live in August to let people register screens, billboards, websites, and apps to show ads coming from our network.


Screen operators (publishers) will be immediately paid in FARIs, STX, and BTC according to the nature of the ads and their preferences. Faris will be swappable to BTC as soon as Swapr goes live (this is the Uniswap of the Stacks 2.0 network). We are sorry Swapr has not gone live yet, but it WILL be live pretty soon.

Some Notes: Ads booked by the Foundation (over 10M hours) are always payable in Faris. Ads booked by agencies and individuals are always paid in STX and BTC (which are tradable for dollars right now).
