i am just getting back online after a few months, does MMXIV coin hold any value anymore? Thanks.

MMXIV, Teeth, VARY and BUCKS have been merged into a new coin that is incidentally called GorillaBucks (like the previous one).
If you had your coins in a local wallet (not on Exchange) you can get them swapped.

Instructions for MMXIV, TEETH, VARY (GorillaBucks is further down)
  • Open the wallet of the coin you wish to turn into GorillaBucks
  • Copy addresses that have coins them and save these
  • Click Help -> Debug Windows and open Console tab
  • Type 'dumpprivkey address' without the quote
  • The output from this command is your Private Key
  • Copy Private Key from above and save for later
  • Open GorillaBucks 6.4.8.0 and generate a new address
  • Ensure valid address. This will be where new coins will be sent
  • Send an email to swap@GorillaStake.com with the above information
  • Please ensure your email is in the following format to help things move quickly
  • ALL INFORMATION MUST BE IN ONE MESSAGE OR IT WILL NOT BE SWAPPED

Email Subject: MMXIV, TEETH, or VARY (Please Specify)
Coin: MMXIV, TEETH, or VARY (Please Specify)
Key: Paste your Private Key from above here
Address: Paste your new GorillaBucks address here

Instructions for BUCKS (Please read first)
  • Open the old GorillaBucks wallet
  • Copy addresses that have coins them and save these
  • Click Help -> Debug Windows and open Console tab
  • Type 'dumpprivkey address' without the quote
  • The output from this command is your Private Key
  • Copy Private Key from above and save for later
  • Close original GorillaBucks wallet and rename Roaming/GorillaBucks
  • Suggestion is Roaming/GorillaBucksOld (in case backups are needed)
  • Roaming/GorillaBucks must be empty prior to running BUCKS for the first time
    • If you mess this up, it's fine, just start from the beginning since you backed up the original

       Email Subject: Original GorillaBucks
       Coin: Original GorillaBucks
Key: Paste your Private Key from above here
Address: Paste your new GorillaBucks address here

Thank you for replying with the directions that Spots created! The only part I had trouble with was knowing my PUBLIC key to create my PRIVATE key. I researched and found by using this command "getaccountaddress " I was able to get it. In my case "getaccountaddress WALLET" without quotes of course.

Should Snowballs reach zero, how long in time (weeks, days, years) before its removed from the exchanges?  Just curious, I have never followed a coin this far down before.

As i Asked and red in the previous pages no one is willing to answer any questions about The STAKE but some wish the wallet is never going to stake in the coming days\Month Huh? What the problem with the stake i have almost 1500ball for 5 days nothing is coming the wallet unlock and always running.

With the current difficulty, it will take your 1.5K balls a little while to stake.  They will continue to accrue interest while waiting to stake, so your not losing anything, except access to them.

Based on the design of Balls it could take a little while for the network to level out.  At first everyone was staking almost as soon as the coins were mature.  Since they were less then 48 hours old, every stake was getting split into smaller and smaller stakes.  Then as everyone started pulling Balls from the exchanges to stake, the larger stakes were happening fast and the smaller ones took longer.  The larger piles are being split, and the smaller piles are gaining weight.  When the smaller piles finally stake, they will not be split because the time is greater then 48 hours.  Eventually, if no one added new coins to stake, all of the stakes would be close to the same size.

This is all done to keep the network flowing smoothly.

I just want to reply and complement you on your answer, this is all still cryptic (pun intended) to me. I was able to follow along in what you were saying with your choice of words and wording.

What's the time-frame for Spondoolies next gen ASIC? Have you taped out yet? When are you guys expecting samples?

Every time I ask something about AM you come here. I think this is the third time (if I remember correctly) when you do this Smiley You are way too predictable.

Nice signature btw.

So what are you trying to say? That I can't put hardware related questions to Spondoolies in their hardware thread but it's perfectly fine for you troll the AM shareholders thread? Are you an AM shareholder? If not, why are you even posting in that thread?

Do you have a problem with the relevant on-topic question that I asked?

Ignored, a waste of thread space.

I just deposited about 1,500 Snowballs in my wallet, do they need to be split up into smaller groups for maximum efficiency. Say for example 4 groups of 400 or something or is it even necessary?

~Blaise

Nope, they will split themselves as they stake.
Just leave your wallet unlocked.
Be careful, wallet seems to auto lock after 24hrs.

Thanks for the quick reply's AC and I will keep an eye on the "auto lock
" you mentioned.

Its just wierd the way it performs with the up and down performance, the higher performing one is one rock solid line.

Low Performer:

I just thought I'd point out a few things on these. First, you'll note that the low performer is only using 1176W (DC) whereas the high performer is using 1254W. This means you're getting 0.857 J/GH (DC) on the slow machine and 0.832 J/GH on the fast one, so your fast unit clearly has superior ASICs. Second, you have slightly higher voltages on the fast machine on average, which is probably responsible for the lower power consumption. There might be a way to increase the voltages that the firmware settles on by changing (increasing) the initial voltages, but you also might brick your miner by trying that, and you'd only gain at most around 80 GH/s and you'd lose efficiency as well.

As for the waviness of the line, if you look at the graphs you'll notice that the one running 1.5.8 has the graph scale go from 1.2 TH/s to 1.5 TH/s, but the one running 1.5.4 has the graph scale go from 0 TH/s to 1.6 TH/s. The reason for this scaling difference is that Zvi made this modification (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg8356336#msg8356336) in the more recent firmware after I showed it to him. Consequently, the graphs on 1.5.8 just show more detail than on 1.5.4.

I just wanted to give credit where credit is due - jtoomim, you have been and are, very helpful sharing your knowledge and experience with the Spondoolies-Tech forum. I think others agree, thank you for all that you do!

Best regards, no need to reply,

"In a recent conversation with CoinDesk, Spondoolies CEO Guy Corem noted that the move to data centers is good for the industry, but that companies need to do their part in contributing to the goal of a truly decentralized network of miners."

Why don't you ask SP to sell you 29 x SP30s and that you'll pay for them in 6 months let's see how that will work out for you. The reason I switched to Toom.im hosting was because at that hosting rate with SP I would lose for sure 100%. So switching to Toom.im was the natural thing to do to minimize the loss and expenses in order to get as close to the ROI as possible. Of course SP themselves suggested to do that, which of course is good advise because paying $500 a month for 1 miner is just something that's not going to happen. Yes I agree that I end up with 10TH more but that's at the cost of an extra 14,500 Watts altogether.

Anyway we will see in 6-12 months time, I hope I am wrong and that I can get my money back. Keep in mind that people aren't support to worry about only breaking even, if you took that money and bought shares in a company or did some other investment you could make a nice profit instead of being in a situation of simple trying to get your money back from mining.

"if you took that money and bought shares in a company or did some other investment you could make a nice profit instead of being in a situation of simple trying to get your money back from mining."

wissam,

FWIW, any investment is a gamble, especially "company's", if you could make "a nice profit" from one why did you invest in BTC? Sounds like you may have "jumped into the deep end without learning to swim" or "put all your eggs in one basket" by making some (me thinks some uneducated, quick) calculations and "threw caution to the wind" with the unknowns, in hopes for some fast cash and easy money. I sincerely do hope you at least break even.

Just real tired of reading 20 pages of bitching and complaining and then soon as someone gets their hardware they wanna go back to kissing ass. Sorry, but ya'll sound like a bunch of women in here. And pardon me if there really is any women, but from all bullshit I've read in the past 20 pages I don't think so.

Wow, more bitching and now this time it's about bitchers... muted.

Had to go to FedEx depot to pick it up they had to search the truck and they found it yay!

btw what's the default IP address on these ? I have a ton of devices don't know the IP

try with hostname myminer.io
the IP is on DHCP .. or get a network scanner app on you phone Smiley

cleaned out all my DHCP resevations and limited the amount to 20 so I could see when a new one got request and still nothing.

It seems that the SP30 is not requesting a new IP , how do I reset the box ?

hard reset worked punching the button on the front

Thanks for the update, good to know that worked for you!

Sheez.. I can't take any more of your whining ... ignored.

Must be friend with wissam  Roll Eyes

You'll find out why some people are whining in about 8-12 months when we don't get ROI and our miners end up in the bins.

"If it's to hot in the kitchen..." I'm in good shape with my Spondoolies-Tech miners thank you. This is leading edge stuff with a lot of variables, I hope you didn't get too far in over your head and that you at least break even!

re-read my post and you wont have to ask if im happy.
And it's still August.

lets gloss over the painful truth (BRIBE) and focus on 'your' amazing shipping skills, shall we...?

so when its going wrong its nothing to do with SP, and when a customer has no choice but to pay a bribe to get it out THIS MONTH, you're impressed with yourselves....

well done, you're awesome!!

can i be compensated with 21% off an SP31 but not pay the balance until you actually release definite specs?

update - 4,667.41 GH/s

The Bitfury chip may be able to run at 0.38 JOULES/GH, not watts/GH, it's a measure of energy, not power, (just another little detail which shows up your lack of knowledge) and their chip runs in a mode call Sub Threshold where is sacrifices speed for lower energy per GH by using a lower supply voltage than normal. I'm sure that the ST guys and any other competent designers will confirm that their chips could run at much lower J/GH figures if they ramp down the voltage.

The trouble is with this scenario - and read this carefully here because you might have considerable difficulty in understanding it - is that the lower voltage makes the chip run slower, a lot slower. To get the same number of GH/second as a full voltage chip you need more chips, thus making the advantage of low energy/GH useless.

Did I say you should expect more hashrate when undervolting/underclocking? I thought that much was assumed. Does the lowered hashrate change the fact that a 55nm chip is still the most efficient chip to date?

It's amusing that you insult my lack of knowledge and then suggest that there is a difference between measuring w/gh and j/gh. 1 W(J/s)/GH = 1 J/s/GH.

Quote
You say the reason you want to know about compensation is so you can make informed decisions about whether to buy from ST in the future. This is rubbish, you simply want to make trouble for a competitor in whatever way you can, but you wrap it up in 'concerns' and criticism to try to get the community wound up.

So just because I own a very small amount of AM shares, my opinion is automatically void because obviously I'm a shill? If looked at my posts you would find I support plenty of companies which are not AM. I've said it before and will say it again, I would support SPtech if they would just drop the preorders.

I'm not lying when I say I would buy from SPtech in the future. They have the best support and great hardware. But at current prices there is no chance.

You really should give this up before you embarrass yourself further. You made a statement designed to demean the ST chip against a competitors without explaining the tech behind the apparent 'better' performance from the latter. That's not what good engineers do, they can only compare two devices by giving them the same operating conditions or by explaining how results come about from testing. Lower power consumption does not equate to higher efficiency, I don't have the motivation to explain it to you, so you'll have to work it out for yourself.

As for W/GH and J/GH, they are NOT the same. I would  gladly explain to you if I thought you might be capable of understanding what I said, but you clearly won't. Watts are a measure of power, Joules of energy. They are NOT the same, although again it's amusing that you think you can argue that they are.

I have no interest in what you buy of from whom but I'll be damned if I'll sit back and watch amateurs use misinformation to try to put down the technology of good companies that might pose a threat to their interests. I've read quite a lot of your comments about several companies, not much constructive criticism or support in there, is there? Not a lot of criticism of AM either, funnily enough, but I guess you feel you don't have to as they're going to 'crush' the competition, eh? I have the distinct feeling that you're going to regret ever having said that.

From now on, why don't you leave the technical stuff to the grown ups and stick to what you do best - entertainment?

While I'm writing can I also remind you that you haven't as yet done the ROI comparison between the AM solution and the SP30 I suggested? I'd really love to see it and I'll bet a lot of other would too, so get busy.

To the Spondoolies people, sorry for taking up space in your thread. I'm sure you have a lot on your plate at the moment but what you don't need is opportunists using this situation to push their own agendas.

Speaking for myself "taking up the space" was well justified and  I hope others will feel the same too. Yes, I too would like to see his ROI comparison that you challenged him with but I doubt he will, he seems to have met his match, thanks to you.

Regards,

~Blaise
