[HIRING] Litemint - Translators needed
by
blockonomy
on 12/10/2019, 09:38:06 UTC
Hi,

For my project Litemint, I am looking for crypto and tech savvy translators in the following languages:

  • Spanish
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Arabic
  • Hindi
  • Portuguese

The app is already translated in Korean, French, German, Chinese, Russian, Greek so do not contact me for these languages but feel free to suggest another language if you happen to master one, it may be useful based on user base / potential acquisitions. Ideally I would like to work with contributors for repeat work as the app gets updated regularly.

Contact me hello@litemint.com to discuss.

Thanks.

Kaspersky found Trojan.Win32.IRCbot.bggv in magnet-qt-WIN.rar from this topic. are there any explanations?
I don't know how that can be... This project has been around for more than a year and has never seen any problems with viruses. I downloaded a new wallet from the official website and checked everything with an antivirus-everything was fine.
Is it a true? I don’t have any alert  from my antivirus.. so I am a bit nervous about what is going on..
It is something I don’t really believe in this.. However, if something can happen I guess the team member will tell us

No viruses

magnet-qt-WIN.rar is the old wallet and there was a false positive on some anti-viruses.

Hi.
I recently saw the notice to update the wallet to version 1.4.2.

I downloaded the wallet from the official magnet site. Windows x64 version.
The guide said to just run it, it never said anything about deleting the old version.

I ran it, and while syncing, the processing got stuck on a block, and never continued to download
the blockchain or update.

So, I moved my wallet.dat file OUT of the appdata/roaming/magnet wallet, onto a temp directory onto my desktop.
I then deleted the entire magnet wallet directory out of appdata/roaming/magnet.

I then unzipped the new download file again, and double clicked the magnet-qt.exe file.
The wallet installed, then started to sync.
Then, I closed the wallet.
I went into appdata/roaming/magnet directory, and removed the new wallet.dat file that the fresh install created.
I then moved my old wallet.dat file into this directory.

I restarted the new install of magnet wallet version 1.4.2.

The blockchain just completed download a few minutes ago.
I did have a balance of 164.xx magnet.
Now, even with my original wallet.dat file, that balance is NOT showing up in the wallet.

When I click on transactions in the new wallet, it says this:

Status: conflicted
Date: 3/26/2018 06:28
Total debit: -164.62024478 MAG
Total credit: 164.62024478 MAG
Transaction fee: -0.0002 MAG
Net amount: -0.0002 MAG
Transaction ID: 55357e971cdcdfa3065eb64cab7a32eafb508ba99e2910f3965996baf8b140cb-000

A few days ago, when I was on the old wallet, I sent all of my inputs back to myself, so they would show up as one input under coin control.
That was confirmed days ago.
Now, since I've upgraded to the new version of wallet, and re-downloaded the new blockchain, with my original wallet.dat file from the old wallet,
it shows this, and my balance does not show up in the wallet.

Magnet dev team, what do I do to fix this?
I don't want to lose those coins.

Use repairwallet command. Go to Help > Debug Window > Console Tab, type repairwallet

Another coin with HTTP downloads to wallet and no checksums of course. People really do not fucking care at all.
Beside the unnecessary swearing you are right, we encourage people to compile from source but since we provide binaries we should also provide checksums. This will be fixed today. Thanks for pointing that out.

Website has been updated to use https and checksums are now available on binaries : https://magnetwork.io/#wallet

Wow that is a reaction I did not expect, this is the way it should be. Fixed hours later! Other coins I pointed that out did not react at all. Its such a pathetic disgusting display that I can't help but swear. There will be people getting hacked and their coin stolen because of behavior like this. Especially in this area people should be extra cautious but its just a fact that they do not care. And if the devs do not care its gets even worse. Anyway thanks anyway for at least fixing that so fast.

Do you have compile instructions for the GUI wallet for ubuntu 17.10? I have not seen a single coin that offers that. If not can you write it. I tried build boxy recently and failed and gave up.
We have plans to tidy up the build process as we will be moving to MW 2.0 on the roadmap. In the meantime we will try to take time for update the QT wallet tool chain and build process.

Actually, you should update all the related documentation that points to those binaries ( example: masternode manual), and also, change the extension from (prefork) .rar to (postfork) .zip.

And, in some places of the new wallet still shows the old version number. This could lead to confusion to new users.

Devil is in the details

Thats also correct, we will be updating the documentation as well in coming days and patching these "evil" left over, agreed it is all in the details!

Any other ideas? MN dreams are withering away. Can't use the cool new app.
I'll offer a 100 coin bounty to solve this for us users reporting it Smiley MAG of course

lt looks like an issue with boost. what version are you using?

Indeed, most likely the issue is with dependencies being compiled for Ubuntu 17.x and DudeNamedSteve is using Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial).

We have added the binary for Xenial so the solution is either compile it yourself from source (github) or download the magnetd binary here:
http://magnetwork.io/Wallets/magnet-qt-LINUX-xenial.rar

MN Manager Update 1.05

- Added reward notifications.
Add your masternodes to favorites to receive real-time notifications on your mobile for PoW and PoS rewards.
- Network estimates are now updated every 24h and averages calculated based on historical data (no extrapolation).
- Fixed an issue with back button reloading the app.

Enjoy! Feedback welcome.

Wow, cool. How about it's real ROI for Magnet Masternode operations?
The current averages (in-app) are calculated from rewards earned on previous day, unless major network change these results are very close to expectations. We will also add detailed statistics pertaining to single masternodes in upcoming updates. More annouce will be made, stay tuned.

nevermind. I figured it out.

I have the same problem. What did you do? How did you figure it out?
Make sure you do not overdraft your balance when sending (deduce amounts in stake/new mint, you can see these with getinfo command).
If previous transaction failed you may have to run repairwallet command to resync your balance.

Good day!
I have one problem with masternode setting. I use VPS wich I have bought here vultr.com. At first I have started with $5 VPS (25GB SSD, 1 CPU, 1024MB Memory), as I could see later, this CPU is not enough for masternode and it always fall down. I have upgrade my VPS to 60GB SSD, 2 CPU, 4096MB Memory, and still get overloaded CPU, but it is pretty powerful processor.

Can you help me to solve that?
Thanks!

Happening in spikes so looks more environmental that linked to the process itself.
How is your firewall setup? (I'd recommend you disable everything and only open up 17177 if not already)\
Also maybe worth enabling DDOS on that box (Vultr has an option), would be cheaper than upscaling the VPS.
Hope this helps.

Magnet coin is great! Are you experienced? The coin is very powerful in staking: I stake with 850 MGN and I earn 0.1 MAG/days. I want to buy more today on https://www.coinexchange.io/market/MAG/BTC - it's quite underrated, but must have a future. Thanks and Hodl Magnet!  Wink

So it means if I stake 8.5k it will give 1MAG/day, so with the 8.5K I will earn 30MAG/Month. Damn I am buying more. Thanks for this information.

I don't think those numbers are correct with staking, also at 8500 MAG you should just go ahead and buy the addition 1500 and
get a masternode at 10k Mag.

With a masternode after you set it up following guides in discord you will be making on average ~85 Mag per day. Good luck
The calculation is 8500 * 7% annual returns from staking (595 mag) so a rate of 1.6 MAG daily.
The formula uses coin-day unit so it is almost a guaranteed return despite the PoS mining randomness as each day without win adds a multiplier (up to 48 days).
I would however agree that for a 1.5K additional investment, a masternode would produce greater returns on that amount.

You are obviously avoiding the question, so I'll ask again: When are you going to list your coin on other exchanges?
No one is avoiding anything. You asked when and the only people that know the answer are Cryptopia since payment was sent earlier this month.
The answer was as direct and concise as it gets: "We are already posted our listing for Cryptopia and 20 days into waiting for it on their side. It is paid for. "
