Anybody knows if it's possible to safely rent rigs for folding from other people like you rent scrypt/x11 machines? Since it seems like you need to give passkeys etc to be able to connect to your account.

What are you afraid of? Somebody force folding your account so you get some extra ppd?

Hey Smiley

Do we really need two subreds?

cheers
blodyx

ps
sorry for breaking your pool ChekaZ,
im not sure yours was the only one the broke when i was looking for one that could take Nicehash...
ds

The Problem was that my database got messed up early on with that 1gh/s spike on my pool. (I have to say that Iam new in that Poolbusiness, and didnt expect an 1gh/s spike on my pool.) Afterwards Ive got upstream block signing problems which I had to fix manually in the database which took me 1h~ afterwards every block was displayed & accounted corretly but the miners were gone Cheesy

Regards,
ChekaZ

yes i didnt dare to dwell on your pool without the feedback...

Yeah my fault, next time I should provide more visability about my work and stuff whats going on.

or a way to contact you Wink irc?

I like the pool! But a little news and information about you on the page would be good.

Thank you for tips!
What kind of information are you most interested in?

i would very much like a estimate of maxcoins per mh/s and day or something similar
and a graph over my hashing speed over time

That some evil-genius find a smart algorithm to break it all Wink

How many combinations are there to try when you have the public key?

Re: Brutforcing a wallet

It is not hard to find a wallet(the bitcoin address) with enormous amount of money in it.

Its not hard to find a network with enormous amount of hashing power(any pool).

So my question is; How safe is it realy? How long time would it take for a big pool to break a singel address and can it be done?

Pretty much impossible. It would take many many lifetimes over. Don't believe me try it! https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen

Here I tried to brute force this address https://blockchain.info/address/1FfmbHfnpaZjKFvyi1okTjJJusN455paPH better known as DPR's coins.

lol that wallet would be worth "mining"

I know to little of cryptography to even start...

Isnt cracking the privatkey about the same work as we already do?

The vanity thing. its just making random addresses and when you find the right public key you also have the private key?
