Re: Will the electric car destroy the petrol car?
by

No, it will not destroy the industry totally, there will always people who like old cars and want to stick that way, same with how there are still a lot of olden day cars around on the streets.

It could possibly take over a huge market share in the automobile industry but that wont be for a decade or two

If bitcoin went from $1,000 to $25,000 in one year, theres a very likely change other coins like ethereum can follow in its path

Or perhaps someone knows how to do this and is interested in doing so (for some coins of the fork, or ETH, etc.)

Just PM'd you

So you want a list of all the prices of all the different coins?

Why aren't you able to just look at a markets list on an exchange?

Re: will bitcoin rise up to 1M?
by

I think bitcoin reaching a million is unlikely

It would value satoshis too much and by that point, there would need to be other divisions to split up even satoshis.

Transaction fees would also need to be changed as by that point people would be paying hundreds of dollars for each transaction.

Basically, In order for bitcoin to reach a million, there needs to be a lot more services around to assist in the sending and receiving of bitcoin as well as the actual workings of bitcoin

Re: Integrating a TippingBot Into a Simple Machines Forum (SMF)
by
blue_w1nter
on 04/01/2018, 01:51:59 UTC
There are many ways you can integrate a tip bot

1 If you are the admin of the forum (and have access to the server(s) running the forum including the database)

You could run a bot to continuously query against the database to find comments that include a certain phrase e.g. "!tip"
Once that command is found the bot could either automatically deduct from the users tip balance and send it to another balance (ready for withdrawal)
Or post a reply to that comment with an address to send for the bot to forward - sort of acting as a middle man between the two users

2 If you aren't an admin of a forum

You would need to setup a bot to continously scrape the site for new posts (which would cause a lot of speed issues if the forum is running off a bad server)
and then repeat the same process above

If you are still interested in setting up a tip bot I am able to develop one for you but we would need to discuss further

Re: I m looking for an exchange Platform script
by
blue_w1nter
on 04/01/2018, 01:44:26 UTC
You can't just find a script and just set it up,

You're going to need to hire developers, a support team, maintainers

An exchange is no good if no one maintains it and it's just a script, no script can automatically choose and add new coins from the altcoin announcement section of bitcointalk without having many security flaws

Either you need to do the above and literally start a new company, or be one insane genius developer who will spend most of their day maintaining the exchange to make sure there are no flaws in your system, your customers are happy and you can keep up to date with the market and withdrawals/deposits.

3000 satoshis per visitor is a lot per day, do you think you can get 10+ cents (unless all you want to do is break even - which is even harder to attract investors) per visitor from an advertising network?

Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet
by

Bought one yesterday, waiting for it to arrive.  Wink

I've read through the FAQ and the manuals on the website but there are still some parts that I don't really understand...

Does the Trezor hold your coins? or are they on the Trezor web wallet (or whatever wallet you're using)?
Isn't it still possible for hackers to create malware and upload it onto a trezor through the "update" function?

I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered in this thread but as you can see, the thread is almost as long as a book.

Isn't the first one a label and the second one is the actual address?

Code:
static const char *strDNSSeed[][2] = {
    {"label", "192.168.1.1"},
};
