This is GREAT NEWS! I'm glad they will resolve this for you. Let us know when they do!

Yay! I have access again! Bitstamp have fully fixed the issue and it seems to have been a misunderstanding.  Thank you very much to everyone who tried to help and especially to Marko Rogan over at Bitstamp! He is a pleasure to talk to, dealt with all of my messages which was on a daily basis for over a week and never once lost his cool, despite me doing so at least once.

BItstamp have been in good communication with me. All should be resolved by the end of today.

It seems there was a miscommunication at one point. I will update once more when fully fixed.

Thanks everyone for reading and thanks to BItstamp for directly addressing this issue here.

How did you lose access to your account?

A external hard-drive of mine failed and all I was left being able to remember luckily was my account number. I was able to provide identity proof and proof of all transactions made with my bank account as well as many other random information regarding account.

EDIT: I stop here for now as I want BItstamp a chance to respond and make things right. MY next posting will either confirm the situation was resolved or I will be posting all evidence and PMs I saved.

I would be very surprised if BitStamp is involved in any shady practices. I'm pretty sure this will be clarified soon.
Have you scanned your computer for malware?

No problem for malware. All is clean. I would be shocked if BItstamp was involved in shady practices. Hopefully, this is just a glitch and will be fixed asap. I informed them they have 24 hrs to explain to myself and have shared this thread with BItstamp themselves.

I have good reason to believe BItstamp is stealing bitcoins from clients accounts. Lost access to account and then provided al documents to them and they agreed everything was ok and to give me access again. JUst now they blocked my IP and disabled the BItstamp account i had been logged into from to contact them. I have made a new account and messaged them again.

If this is confirmed I will e reporting here tomorrow in exactly 24 hrs with plenty of evidence documenting this. They might not know it but I have all messages backed up. Smiley

I will also take them to court and begin a tedious legal dispute if what BItstamp has done is not rectified.

BItstamp you have 24 hrs to give me what Im owed or Ill come down on you like a ton of bricks.

Let's see how this turns out. But red flags raised. Your machine seems compromised. Be careful.

Sorry but I am definitely not compromised. That is 100%. Why is it that Bitstamp servers are blocking all IPs that I use? All they have to do is make this right and this is all over.

Which one is the more anonymous and really mixes the coins 100%?

Blockchain fee = 0.5%

Bitcoin fog = 1-3%

If they are both the same Ill obviously use blockchain.info

Thoughts?

Re: [ANN] Cognitive Cryptography VPN - A new cheap, fast VPN. Launched!

I now see you don't keep any logs and usage cannot be traced back to you.

Is it not possible this could be LE trying to snoop on us all? I know this is over-the-top slightly but if they controlled a few VPNs then they could follow exactly what you did, even though you thought you were anonymous? Im merely interested and not accusing in the slightest!

If the feedback coming in remains good, Ill consider joining too.
Interesting thought.
The way we see it, is, arn't you snooped on all the time anyway? Google logs all your usage data and possibly Google drive files, and Facebook has been proven to track your data even outside of their site. I'm sure most of us regularly use Google and Facebook, so wouldn't it be much easier for the LE to buy your data from them and others? Both Google and Facebook have not been known to sell data, but what makes them any more trustworthy than us? Because they are a big corporation? If anything, that makes them more open to secret deals, or rouge employees who have access to the data. Countless corporations have done it in the past, and there are many places you can go to, to find extensive information on a person.
Cognitive Cryptography is run by 2 people, only 1 of which has access to HaiPeng, our VPN server; and by extension any "logs" we may keep. Everything I do that concerns the company is disclosed on irc, and the same with JackSparrow. If he went rouge, I would be the first to report.
Using our VPN is, given, risky because although we say we don't log your data, we always could. But we are no less risky than any other VPN. And plus, its more risky using Facebook and Google because they are GUARANTEED to log your data.
Google now has free internet, there is no reason why they won't log all of your browsing data from that.
There are even companies that store all tweets on twitter ever made, and even keep deleted tweets. There is software available to keep your own twitter logs for large scale crown analysis. Twitter has millions upon millions of daily users, CCVPN has no hope of achieving anywhere near a million. Why spend your time and money setting up a VPN company when you can access twitter logs for free(from, I dare say, a large amount of less technically, and by extension, privacy inclined users, who probably disclose a lot more about themselves than the average Bitcoin user?)?

startpage.com - startpage logs all Google search data, then let's you search it. You get the same search results as Google, but without the logs.

Phew, that took me over an hour.
HectorBarbossa.

Yes, you have good points about google, facebook and twitter but I doubt anyone who wants to stay anonymous (and you do advertise yourselves clearly as being a highly anonymous service) going to be logging into social media sites using a VPN. That sort of defeats the purpose IMO of staying anonymous lol.

The only way to really secure yourself from any VPN from knowing your connections is to do:

Tor ----> VPN ------> Tor (VM)

But yes it is an interesting thought, especially considering VPNs are doing a lot of damage concerning copyright infringement, such as torrent downloading. So I personally would tend to trust the older VPNs as:

1. They have stood the test of time
2. I think it unlikely a VPN being around for a long time is rogue or LE.

I wish you all the best with your new business though.

I assume once I describe the projects to you (which neither of you replied to PMs) then you will best be able to judge which code/language to use. Still waiting to hear back from you.

It would be great with a guide on how to setup a service like that, they must have done something right.

Agreed. Although Id think they are not keen on revealing their ways with what they host.

Do you know anyone on the forum who is very reputable and could make/build/program an onion site?

Spoke to him about building websites. Kind of clocked he was a scammer.

He would not discuss how he was going to build/program the website as then I would take his ideas to another programmer. lol.

Browsing a clearnet site via tor offers the client the protection of tor, but information about the server (such as IP address, Internet service provider, physical location, maybe name of the administrator/owner via WHOIS records) is still in the public.

There are lots of grey area and also plain illegal businesses which operate from the clearnet, which is why all of this (WHOIS records) must be avoidable somehow. Anybody know how to register and run a clearnet site completely anonymously as your services will be of use?

Good point, that makes sense. So guess HTTPS isn't needed after all?

So even if you were not hosting an onion site but merely browsing or connecting to onion sites then how would you ensure that your connecting with HTTPS? Are you talking about using the firefox add-on "HTTPS everywhere" or am I way off? I guess this add-on forces your connections through HTTPS?

From what I can see Freedom Hosting is a good place to host your onion site. I heard that the group 'anonymous' tried before to hack them and take them offline as they thought there was child porn being hosted too. They failed...
