Apparently soon all bitcoin will be obtained, and either the price will go up strongly, or something terrible will happen with bitcoin

Only another 122 years to go. Not long now.

Re: If someone pays you 10 btc to legally change your name to bitcoin, would you?

Absolutely not! That is preposterous.

Just kidding. People will bite your hand off.
There's people who would do it for half a bitcoin.
Although i suppose it would have to be at least one bitcoin, otherwise they would then become known as half-a-bitcoin Jones (or whatever).

Re: If bitcoin gets banned in a country, does altcoins get banned along with it?
by

Yes.
Quotes from the Wikipedia article Legality of Bitcoin by country or territory.

Ecuador - "The Ecuadorian government has issued a ban on bitcoin and other digital currencies."

Algeria - "The purchase, sale, use, and holding of so-called virtual currency is prohibited."

Bolivia - "The Central Bank of Bolivia issued a resolution banning bitcoin and any other currency not regulated by a country or economic zone"

Kyrgyzstan - "the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic made clear that "the use of 'virtual currency', bitcoins, in particular..."

Bangladesh - "Bangladesh Bank said that "anybody caught using the virtual currency could be jailed..."

Nepal - "Nepal Rastra Bank declared bitcoin as illegal."

It appears Nepal is the exception here, although in the reference it says "As Bitcoin isn’t attached to a state or government and doesn’t have a central issuing authority or regulatory body...", so i'd be surprised if alts didn't get the same treatment.

Re: 7 safest investments. Why Bitcoin & crypto currencies ??
by
bluestar1000

You can investment your money in land, house, gold, silver, stock markets, fixed deposits & savings in banks, start some business or invest in some business (like restaurant, hotels etc..)

Actually Bitcoin and crypto currencies are not required/unwanted  Grin

This really could be listed as 6 things, since gold, silver, platinum .etc all precious metals, same category.

I don't consider investing in businesses as a safe investment. If someone was opening a restaurant, i certainly wouldn't want to invest in that, because a very high percentage of restaurants go out of business within the first year.

If a questionable government or rule of court ever wanted to strip you of your assets, people can easily make that difficult to do with crytocurrencies, and potentially with precious metals also. Other assets wouldn't be so safe.

Segwit2X has been dumped under 200 USD.
It is the most unsuccessful fork so far.

 Cry
That's what happens when the "business developer" is Donna the stripper.

Regarding "unsucessful forks" and to see why exchanges have a hard time deciding and HAVE TO decide:

Just the forks from december 2017:

UnitedBitcoin: Forked at Block 498777[8], 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 UB.
Well, it is there - but complicated to claim and will end up with 90% premine.
Price: 293 USD

Bitcoin Hot: Forked at Block 498848[9], 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 100 BTH
DEAD

Super Bitcoin: Forked at Block 498888, 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 SBTC
Price : 0.30USD

BitcoinX: Forked at Block 498888[10], 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 10,000 BCX
DEAD

Oil Bitcoin: Forked at Block 498888, 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 OBTC
DEAD

Bitcoin World: Forked at Block 499777, 17 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 10000 BTW
DEAD

Lightning Bitcoin: Forked at Block 499999, 19 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 LBTC
Price 0.02USD (Dead)

Bitcoin Stake: Forked at Block 499999, 19 December 2017, For each 1 BTC, you get 100 BTCS
DEAD

Bitcoin Faith: Forked at Block 500000, 19 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 BTF
DEAD

Bitcoin Top: Forked at Block 501118, 26 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 BTT
DEAD

Bitcoin God: Forked at Block 501225, forked on 27th December 2017. For each 1 BTC you get 1 GOD
Price: 126USD which is considered a donation to the community.

Bitcoin FILE: Forked at Block 501225, forked on 27th December 2017. For each 1 BTC you get 1000 BIFI
DEAD

Bitcoin SegWit2X X11 Not to be confused with a previous fork SegWit2X with the same name. Forked at Block 501451, 28 December 2017. For each 1 BTC you get 1 B2X
Price: 194 USD

Bitcoin Uranium: Forking on 31st December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 BUM.
DEAD

Conclusion:

Segwitx2 is ione of the most successful fork from the 14 forks that happened!
And UB is in my eyes a real scam ... perhaps i am wrong.

P.S: BTG and BCH dipped to 110 USD and 205 USD in the beginning.
BCH skyrocketed when people "tried" to dump and whales bought it all ...

False infomation.

Lightning Bitcoin has recently been added to Coinmarketcap. Currently priced at $180, trading on 2 exchanges.

BitcoinX currently priced at $0.059014. Trading on 6 exchanges. Its price has actually increased around 20% over the past several days.

Super Bitcoin $128.83. On 9 exchanges.

Bitcoin Diamond $24 (Has 10 times total supply). On 14 exchanges.

Scam2x $183 now.

UnitedBitcoin: Forked at Block 498777[8], 12 December 2017, For each 1 BTC you get 1 UB.
Well, it is there - but complicated to claim and will end up with 90% premine.
Price: 293 USD

I do agree with this though.

I do not know what happened and what's more is that the price of BCD varies significantly from exchange to exchange. Just this week I lost 1000 bucks on BCD that I had bought in Gate.iom and the price plummeted to 15 dollars, while in Kucoin and Yobit it was around 50, what is worse is that none of these exchanges allow you to transfer BCD. All this because apparently no one knows who is behind BCD, then again we have the same thing with Bitcoin. But people will be people.

Yeah cryptocurrencies often vary greatly in price across exchanges.
The trend with these forks (after BCH) has been falling prices after their debut, but Bitcoin Gold has since stabilised recently.
So i think it's best to hold off for a good while before considering buying any, especially since like you say, there's still question marks about BCD, and several others.

technically, everyone who holds BTC received an equivalent amount of BCD after the fork.  so the coin’s value will be pumped artificially high in the beginning.

Bitcoin Diamond was actually a 1:10 ratio.

Bitcoin Diamond trading volume is now yuge
by
bluestar1000
on 04/01/2018, 13:40:40 UTC
In the past day or so, Bitcoin Diamond's trading volume has increased hugely.

Currently now up to $920,774,000 USD. Which puts it 11th in the list of most traded cryptos.
Nearly all of it is on OKex and between BCD and BCH. (Note: OKex is a Hong Kong based exchange)
Although the price has slowly drifted downwards over the past few days, now at $24.3.

Can anyone explain?

$906,273,000 BCD/BCH
$3,516,290 BCD/BTC

Re: Did NSA Create BTC to destroy Russia & Chinese ( Asian Economy?? ) ZH thinks so

The entire world is descending into ww3 and crypto-currency is the only way to "take it with you".

First advice would be to get the fuck out of the USA before the SHIT hits the fan, go live in some place like CHINA where owning gold is OK,

Diamonds are a key, you can hide  a baggy up your ass, and it sets off no dectors, the new body-scanners may mean you need to tape them here&there, but still the idea is the same,

CIA has been moving its loot for years with diamonds, its the only way to move large amounts of cash without setting off metal detectors.

NK has the largest mineral wealth of 'rare earth' on earth, and OIL reserves exceeding SAUDI, this is all U need to know why USA wants to STEAL NK

The USA brought this shit on, Israel wants the North Korean OIL&RARE-EARTH minerals, its said that OIL reserves in NK rival saudi, which is now kaput, the zionists of saudi/israel want North-Korea, and China is NOT going sit on their ass nor Russia, so we're talking WW3,

Re: Why are people buying Ripple?

It's amazing how some people think it's acceptable that the Ripple comapany still holds 61% of all XRP.
Also the founders still have at least 10% on top of that.

Now there's lots of people shilling this crap, just so they can get a few crumbs, helping this company become very rich.

I was wondering about the 2 million "Satoshi's coins".
Will they be claiming the coins on blocks which are believed to be mined by Satoshi, going by prior research people did?
Or it will be the first 2 million coins on unspent blocks?

I've read a fair bit about this fork, but this seems to be something they haven't explained.

So it's not clear then.

Another thing they haven't bothered to explain is why Sairam Jetty was listed as part of their team, without his knowledge.
That's their "Team Lead Developer".

Can you imagine going on to a cryptocurrency website and seeing yourself listed as a developer.  Cheesy

Then there's "Robert Szabo". May as well had been "Jimmy Nakamoto".

I wonder if any of the other people don't know they're a part of this team.
