Anyone run into an issue where the power on after power is loss then restored won't work? LEDs come on, but board won't boot unless I short pins.

I pretty much only run these boards with no problems.  Im guessing something is wrong with your power supply setup. These boards just work.

You dont need to edit the stub. Everything can be done from the local.conf

Wait, the ethos are not working anymore? I was planning to upgrade some windows machines to ethos today!! Im confused now!

not going to happen. AMD dosnt care whos buying the cards, just that they are selling. They just posted record earnings.

I'd reinstall ethos, creat a brand new account for your config or just use config maker. Change ethos ssh and root passwords.

Having a weird problem trying to get started with smos. I've tried two different emails in the config file. One, the end gets cut off when smos loads, and then other just shows as "binary" on the startup screen.

What I stated is true, he is the one listing at 359 USD a pack that is worth no more than 200 USD.

He provides a service. You didn't just get a Mobo. You got mobo, SSD, ram, CPU and ethos. Could you have gotten it cheaper on your own? Sure but you didn't. It's hard for people to figure out what motherboards to use. He provides a service making a simple plug and play bundle. You knew what you were buying.

Easy of use meter: 0 = never works, 10 = 99.99% uptime

Linux from scratch: 4 <-- those borked AMD drivers tho... how did you do it, Tytanik?
Windows: 3 <-- getting close to "kill yourself" territory
Ethos: 8 <-- I really like Ethos, and the security is fantastic
SMOS: 8 <-- SMOS is amazing, has a better interface than Ethos, but is less configurable... slight tradeoff.

Conclusion: Definitely try SMOS... maybe its not for you? But... it is great, and you should at least attempt some Mh through it!
How does it work with multiple rigs? I will have 20 running on this OS.

Yeah im dreading Windows on these machines. My first ever machine, I messed around for an entire day trying to get everything working right and it was nothing but trouble.  Thats why I switched to ETHOS. I assumed the trouble was mainly due to my inexperience with mining.

Ok there are 184 pages here ( im starting to read through now), and I have tried googling looking for reviews. Overall is this a stable easy mining OS? I have used Ethos on my current rigs, and was going to go Windows 10 on the ones Im building now, but I stumbled across this.

How is ease of use compared to Windows and Ethos?

Red devil rx580 8+6 power connection

I have built around 13 machines but this is the first with these cards. I've never seen this before but they have a 8+6 power connection. Do I really need to connect the extra 6? Apparently this is so the card can pull 350w if needed.

Will it run on the the 8 pin (6+2) connection? The evga 1300 watt power supplies do not have sufficient cables (or power slots) to power 6 of these.

Advice?

what you are talking about i see plenty of 1070 available https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=1070, many arrive on 12 june, which is not 28 days
I guess I didn not consider the 1070s, they are pretty pricey
