Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed
by

I think its more than 2 weeks since Cryptopia application was announced .... Have we earned anything from Cryptopia as to why they are taking so long to list Sirius ??

The new coin listings are announced on this cryptopia page.

https://help.cryptopia.co.nz/t/new-listings

It could take longer than expected to get listed. Other coins have had to wait months.

This cryptopia forum thread shows the HEAT token requested listing on 8/21/2017, but only got listed on 12/7/2017.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/2128?postId=11213

Cryptopia said it was because it had to write custom interface code for it, and Sirius isn't a bog standard coin.

Quote
Cryptopia; "Your coin is one of few the coins that requires us to write custom interface code for your wallet. We are happy to do this and would love to list your coin, but we have been stuck waiting for some development resources to free up. I have re-arranged things and freed up a developer to look into your coin, hopefully they will be able to provide an update by this time next week. We have also raised the price of a listing on paytopia to 5 million dot (about 10 BTC) to slow the flood of new listings coming in."

There was earlier some public nitpicking about "excuses" for non-listing on exchanges finding HEAT harder to integrate, raising the barrier of entry. Nothing of importance, but interesting too see this recent cryptopia reply confirms that hunch.

How are you planning to distribute NextWeb Coin? Will it be mined?

When will you publish the source code and release the wallet?

Any update on the next stage distribution? I am a full member and I would love to receive some siriux token duirng the next airdrop.

I've been looking forward to the second airdrop, too. But since the first airdrop, Sirius had not heard about second airdrops. Maybe the author gave up second airdrop. They were auctioning Sirius coins in order to listed the exchange.

Joseph says it will be some time in March, and that he can't give a specific date yet.

Re: [ANN] [Airdrop] Nevra (XEV) - Equality, Freedom, Trust
by

on 27/02/2018, 02:40:57 UTC
My thoughts on XEV:
First of all, the author doesn't have a very clear description of the XEV effect, and only tells the community when and how to get XEV.

The dev does give a clear description of the XEV project. It's initially going to be a fork of NEM, then get enhanced after the main net starts. NEM itself was going to be started as a NXT fork, the ideas for enhanced features came after its distribution phase.

Quote
At the current time, Nevra's final mainnet may be inherently based on NEM. The goal will to be initially fork off of NEM and iterate on technical features, enhancing them
.

NEM gathered a community of developers with the skill sets to add enhanced features, and XEV is at the developer gathering phase. We won't know what enhanced features can be added until the developer team is fully formed, and its skill sets known.

Everyone who submitted for distribution on or after January 13th Please PM "joseph" on our team slack.
must have the following information ready to claim your share:

- link to your senior or above bitcointalk profile
- Sirius address you submitted the form with must be visible on your profile..

You have 7 days to claim your distribution starting today.

New announcement tomorrow regarding how we will proceed with second stage.

I just PM'd "joseph" my bitcointalk profile link on the team slack and quickly received my coins. There was a few minutes delay before they showed on the explorer after he sent them. The explorer doesn't show them until a new block's been found.

All I had to PM was my profile link. I didn't have to PM an address or anything else.

About 40 percent of bitcoin is held by perhaps 1,000 users

This is what is wrong with the  bitcoin world.

Never understood why that was an argument against bitcoin.
1% of people own 99% of global resources and it never seemed to bother anyone.

There's huge numbers of bitcoins in addresses that haven't moved since the early days. Nobody's sure if they are owned by anyone or the result of lost private keys. There wasn't much incentive to do backups when bitcoin was practically worthless, and broken hard drives or pen drives could have cost whales their fortunes.

I read about one whale whose 10000 bitcoins are on a broken laptop at the bottom of a landfill. How many more like him are too embarrassed to admit their mistakes?

Didn't see any information about airdrop. Would be nice if it would be open to newbies too.

Airdrops will be open for everybody.

Will the airdrops be freely distributed without any requirement to carry out any tasks to get them?

You'll have to do some small task! Grin

That makes it a bounty, not an airdrop.

Wait a sec, how it can be possible to ban BarterDEX? ...
Banning a thing and being able to enforce that ban are not mutually inclusive.

They banned porn in China, but a shit load of Chinese still watch it. Banning BarterDEX won't stop the Chinese using it.
The more I use BarterDex the more I love it. Once the volume hits and there is a guide for utxos it feels like it can become a beast everywhere....sure there may be some issues along the way but its amazing the Team pulled this off. Just my opinion.

Everyone's sick of centralised exchanges. BarterDex is filling a gap in the market, so it will quickly get the volume.

$18k -> $3k (6x) wouldn't be unprecedented.  In 2011, we fell from $30 -> $2 (15x), in early 2013 from $250 -> $50 (5x), and in late 2013 from $1200 -> $200 (6x).

If we get away with a low of $9k (2x) I'd hardly even call that a crash!

Here are projected lows compared to historical crashes:

2x: $9,000
3x: $6,000
4x: $4,500
5x (early 2013): $3,600
6x (late 2013): $3,000
10x: $1,800
15x (2011): $1,200

Bitcoin is less volatile now. Unless the bull market has ended - which I do not think it has - most of these other crash comparisons are not really valid.

Right now this is a healthy correction - one many people called - that will lead to another bullish year in 2018 with BTC prices well above $50k. BCH might die however Wink
Previous corrections would go into alts but it’s all dropping now.  It won’t get to low Ks overnight but 20k could be a top.  It’s x10 what it costs in electricity per BTC and most past tops were never 20x of previous ATHs.

Well either we are starting a recovery or getting a dead cat bounce. It's gone back above $11000.

So we've been wasting electricity to keep the chain running long enough so that they can dump their premine little by little?

Is that the gist of it?

They don't think of the environment now do they?

Which exchange can you deposit this shit?

According to this post one of the first was Exrates.me

I have never heard of it before so can't comment on what it's like.

Exrates.me has launched B2X input/output

Exrates.me is the exchange platform to support the SegWit2X fork among the first. The platform provided a full input and output of B2X funds for all traders since today. Enjoy trading!

well, until it costs a dollar, who will help me get my coins?

Same prob here. I need an English exchange with a working IFC withdraw. It's good that Novaexchange is continuing, but until they re-enable deposits, I cannot get any funds in to buy IFC!

Are either of these exchanges suitable?

Is anyone able to withdraw from Cryptopia?  I keep getting an 'invalid MINT address' when attempting to withdraw.

Cryptopia's mintcoin wallet has no  connections, and when I click the button labelled "connections: 0" on its status page I get the quoted error message.

Good idea. But it even better if block time is 2.5 seconds, not 2.5 minutes

I don't think any coin's code could cope with such a fast block time. The blockchain would grow to an unmanageable size very quickly.

Cryptopia doesn't fail and will never fail. It is always functional.
I don't know if you are updated on the recent happenings on cryptopia. Have you seen the issues? for you to say that cryptopia isn't prone on such problems? They aren't and just like other users of such exchange I did experience some delays too which isn't really surprising. Each exchanges are now facing off delays that's why for op seeking out exchangers would be a tough job testing out each one of them but rest assured delays would be surely experience along the way.

Totally agree with this. I dont know where did that information coming from that cryptopia "doesnt fail and will never fail". Seriously, that guy needs to have an update  before saying anything else that might put the OP into a worst scenario. Mainly, cryptopia is facing a ton of deposit  issues right now. Delay and no showing up of balances in the wallet, and whats next? And Im not saying that Crytopia isnt a good option.

It's not perfect. It was just offline while it change its firewalls around to try to cope with all the new customers. It's not going to be close to perfect until its finished upgrading the site to handle the masses of new people accessing it.

We're about to make some changes to our firewalls for scaling purposes.
Please bear with us, as Cryptopia will have some downtime beginning in 20 minutes, and this is expected to last half an hour.
Your patience is very much appreciated!

MtGox had a massive effect on bitcoin's price years ago as it had most of the trading volume. Today the volume is spread among lots of exchanges. If one goes down the traders just move to another.

MtGox crashed the price in mid 2103 by stopping trading for two weeks. It crashed it again in 2014 by going bankrupt.

I predict max low is 8300-8400 - bitfinex - last hope support. None good supports below really - if it goes to 8000 its game over man Tongue

Bitconnect dropped like a stone. At someone point Bitcoin could definitely collapse. But until then it's all just speculation.

Maybe someone is dumping all the bitcoin profits they made from bitconnect. Maybe bitcoin will recover after they stop dumping.
Oh is that what blew up the price? A Ponzi scheme collapsing?

Man no one makes money on those things.

the insiders did i bet :\ meh

Yep. Bitconnect is dead I guess. Everyone who saw videos on Youtube of their conference knew it was a scam. This guy has become a meme now.
The early people certainly made a lot of money there and the general populace got burned. That's why we should sometimes listen to our fellow crypto lovers when they have our best interest at heart.
Bitcoin is the one and only original. If its price goes somewhere sub 3k it's probably game over. But it won't happen until all the knockoffs die first.

How many bitcoins were tied up in it?
