i wont say that I am happy or excited with the situation but with the low prices, it is allowing me to buy more NEO and a few other coins that I am interested to accumulate.

The situation surrounding crypto is that there are too many uncertainties at the moment but I do believe that these are just growing pains for any new financial assets... so we just got to hang in there and ride this thru.

anyway tonight I am accumulating ZIL

Most coins would not be possible as there are limited in supply and investors who are buying them will bid up the price.

What you are referring to are stable coins like tether whose purpose is to provide a coin which is peg to USD or any fiat that the stable coins is designed for.

Stable coins is important and there needs to be more such stable coins so that usage of crypto as a currency can be better promoted.

No one wants to use BTC as the value is volatile.. but with a stable coin, there is no difference from fiat so people will use it more readily

I do not think there will be many countries that will be like Japan and make crypto legal tender.
So most cryptocurrencies will be treated more like an asset.

However with more stable coins emerging, I think using cryptocurrencies as a currency will become more prevalent in the future.

Until then, crypto is an asset in my eyes.

it has to be Xspec.

While the developments for Xspec has been slow in recent weeks, XSpec has far better privacy tech versus other coins. The plan is also to implement stealth staking such that it becomes possible to stake Xspec while remaining anonymous..

it will all depends on what will be the discussion about cryptocurrencies.

I think there will be calls to jointly regulate cryptocurrencies and to prevent illegal money laundering and usage of crypto for terrorists funding.

But overall I do think that this could be the start of more acceptance of cryptocurrencies when more regulations sets in

This is a consolidation phase of the crypto market.. it has been in a bear market since BTC drop from 20,000 to 7,000.
Now it is consolidating as it bounces between 9000-11000.

I do believe that this will continue for a while longer. No point trying to time the market. I think the best strategy would be
to buy it anything below 9000 and hold for the longer term.

indeed. With centralization and supports from banks, ripple will find its survival in use cases by financial institutions.

But at the same time, banks as well as Swift are also testing other blockchains and may not use a public blockchain like ripple.

ripple's use case is too limited. Eth has a broad use case applications and is not limited to banking applications.

In this way, Eth has better opportunities and is able to better survive and flourish

I think the best investment strategy would be to invest in various types of assets.

I think we ought to invest in crypto as well as to invest in properties and even equities.

We should not be overly focused in our investment portfolio. Spreading out our money will

let us weather the risk better.

There are definitely more ETH users than BTC users cos there are more applications and use cases for ETH rather than BTC.

This would mean that in the future the total market value of ETH will also be higher than BTC as there is a greater demand for ETH versus BTC

if you have excess funds, I would propose buying the top 10 coins like BTC and ETH and NEO and Cardano etc.

But if you are already feeling jittery and not secure about the future, then dun do anything and walk away from the markets and come back in a month or 2.

When the markets recover, then you will feel much better. In the meantime do not make any rash decision.

Ethereum and the list of smart contracts blockchain will take the leading positions of cryptocurrencies.

The reason is that smart contracts will be the fuel that runs the world in the future. DApps and many smart contracts will be running many aspect of our world that it will become inevitable for ethereum and neo etc to be in the lead.

But I do not think it will happen in 2018. But it will come. Bitcoin is like gold. Nice to have and great to keep our value in but it wont be used to run any applications unlike Eth and Neo.

Is Oil that runs our world more important or Gold that we use to store our wealth?

Oil wins everytime..so will Eth and Neo..

We are in both a developing and adopting phase at this moment.

There are just so many companies that are developing solutions in this area and each day we are hearing of some new concept or ideas that will change the world.

And at the same time, we are seeing a slow and steady rise in the application of cryptos in many areas of our world.

But this development and adoption phase will not be a long one, not unlike the tech which took a few years from development to bust, we are seeing adoption growing daily and fast.

Right now no one can really tell when the market will recover... each time the market rises there will be bad news that will trigger another selldown.

The endless bad news does not seem to end.

But I do think that once the market finishes all the bad news, the recovery will be sustained and we will see All-Time-Highs again.

So in the mean time, hold on tight for the ride and hold on to the strong coins that are showing resilience during this bearish period.

I really like kucoin and exmo at this moment.

Although sometimes kucoin do give me problems with their withdrawal but these issues usually iron out very fast.

however in this game, I think there are no loyalties and better exchanges are likely to pop up every now and then.

We need regulations.

But depending on where you live right now, the regulations can be constructive and encourage the growth of crypto and protect investors, or it can be constrictive and prevent the growth of crypto.

Countries that are forward looking, like Japan and Singapore, are putting in regulations that will help the industry and protect people.

But some other countries are not as progressive and their regulations sometimes even appear suspicious..

I own a portfolio of reits and business trusts for a passive income stream. My plan is to build this passive income from reits as well as business trusts up to $100,000 per year.

If you are keen in REITS, you need to pay attention to the rental market in the target area. You need to also understand which market you are interested.. office Reit, residential Reit, retail Reit, logistics Reit.. and even data center Reit.

My personal fav is logistics Reit and Data Center Reit.

Depending on the real estate Reit you are thinking of investing in, the returns can vary.

- Residential Reits tend to be lower in returns.
- Office Reits and Logistics Reits tend to cyclical depending on the economy
- Retail Reits are bad due to ecommence..

Also if it is a fund, look at their management fees... compare it to the various Reits in the same industry and make sure it is low or comparable.

Anyway REITs are good instruments as a form of income. But capital growth will not be sexy..

Definitely one of the good privacy coins to own. Privacy coins will be big this year.

Coinbase handing over their records to IRAS must have scared lots of investors as well.

I am sure people will try to move their wealth into privacy coins this year. Demand for privacy coins will go up a lot this year.

And I am sure Monero will be one of the beneficiary and gain in value!
