This is the one area that really shits me and brings down the whole crypto scene - childish behaviour. Oh and the hysterical panic people suffer at the slightest sign of trouble.

@PhoenixMiner keep up the good work my friend. You've handled the situation extremely well. Haters gonna hate.

For educational purposes, let's collectively move our hash to http://ethermine.org April 1st for 51 hours. @etherchain_org

I still dont understand how EIP1559 will reduce gas fees, isnt it just burning gas fees? Instead of fees going to miners they are burnt instead, rather than actually being REDUCED for the user sending the transaction. my understanding EIP 1559 is more about making gas fees being more transparent up front and removing guess work?

No need for me to buy any ATM but was curious and thought it would be a nice LOL moment if someone unlocked the cards and made NVIDIA's move any sillier Smiley

You never know.. But what would be better is if eth changes it al-gore-rythm to only work with the gimped 3060 cards.

Damn. that would be cool.

Every time I win a shot to buy one in the new egg shuffle I get it and mine it on octopus.  makes money. and I dream of my 3060's whaling to the altered eth algo this summer. Grin

hahaha you are spot on, that would be hilarious!!!

New RTX 3060 Work Around?
by

on 05/03/2021, 15:59:44 UTC
Hi fellas,

Do you think some software/GPU magician is going to be able to somehow release a work around the hash rate limiter on the new 3060's? Similar to the old Ethenlargementpill for the 1080s? Or has a factory release actually managed to lock something down tight do you think?

Cheers

Any links to a tear down on how to replace/add thermal pads? I have never gone further than sticking a GPU in the PCIE slot haha

First of all - try to touch backplate. 3090 may throttle due to high memory temperature. If its ok - try to add core clock several times per 100MH one time.

I have checked HWInfo and no thermal throttling, only power throttle!

In MSI Afterburner its not even displaying the mV, why would that be do you think?

Also the fan for the backplate that comes with the unit doesnt fit into my case because of another cable Sad

Thanks for replies Smiley

RTX 3090 Hash Rates & Settings
by

on 06/01/2021, 09:23:53 UTC
I just picked up a RTX 3090 and interested in other people's hash rates they can achieve with a 3090.

I've read people achieving over 120mhs but I've had no such luck!

100% power
Core Clock -100
Mem Clock +1500
Fan 70%
Temp 70 cels
Power 340W

Hash rate fluctuates between 105 and 108mhs which is quite underwhelming TBH.

Is this a silicone lottery kind of thing or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers

How do you guys undervolt the 5700xt? Ive -50 on my power limit via Afterburner. Soon as I touch core voltage however the card gets very unstable? Has anyone got an example of their batch file please? Thanks.

yes i am, but i was dual mining as well which is probably the problem. i think i will try claymore and dual mine sia for a while.

Why? Currently, to mine $1 worth SIA you'll need to mine for 1307 years with that card

good point hahaha thanks Smiley

I'm a little confused after reading up on the siacoin variants/hard forks! Can claymore actually mine the original siacoin or do we need to switch to a fork like siacoin prime? Was the hard fork irrelevant for GPU mining and we can mine Sia (SC) without issue? Thanks.

Anyone care to share their batch file commands for nVidia cards? Im running a 1080ti with standard commands

PhoenixMiner.exe -pool eu1-etc.ethermine.org:4444 -wal XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.RigA -dpool stratum+tcp://blake2s.sea.mine.zpool.ca:5766 -dwal XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX-dcoin blake2s
pause

Examples of OC would be appreciated. Enjoy your weekend!

I'm using MSI Afterburner to control NVIDIA cards as it is possible to undervolt, Phoenix doesn't support undervolting at the moment. Currently running one single fan card @ 1645 Mhz, 774mv and +800 to memory clocks - 44 MH/s & 62-63c and MSI @ 1822 MHz, 825mv and +800 to memory - 48 MH/s and 58-60c. I'm trying to save as much power as possible.

thanks mate, im only getting 37mhs for some reason though :/

Are you using ETHlargement pill?

yes i am, but i was dual mining as well which is probably the problem. i think i will try claymore and dual mine sia for a while.

I have crashes with 5.0b and GTX1080Ti (11GB VRAM), driver 446.14.

CUDA error in CudaProgram.cu:456 : unknown error (999)
GPU1 search error: unknown error
Fatal error detected. Restarting.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

This was not happening with older versions.
Could you please advise.

What hash rate were you getting with your 1080ti? Im currently getting around 44mhs. With claymore i would get up to 48mhs using the OhGodAnETHlargementPill script. Not sure what hashrate to expect with Phoenix? Phooenix seems to run a bit more stable.

Thanks Smiley
