I guess good news travels fast.  And I really haven't researched BitConnect, but it sounded very scammy from what I've heard other people say about it online.

Indeed Bitconnect Coin is a very good investment project and every day to Bitconnect Coin joins a lot of new investors. So many people here showing BCC is legit with proof, Even if you search on Youtube you can find more videos on BCC is a true investment than the flipped argument. I personally will not be surprised if BCC takes over Ethereum in coming days.

Or....maybe not... :  https://www.ssb.texas.gov/sites/default/files/BitConnect_ENF-18-CDO-1754.pdf

XMR was up to #8 on coinmarketcap list for awhile today.   I really hope it passes DASH at some point, but Top 10 is still excellent.

WTF...all the way back down to where it lifted off from..actually lower than this morning.   XMR just can't get a proper rally/pump going on.

It did hit new USD ATH during this pump, which is something but a 100% retrace is just absurd, given the bullish crypto market environment.

I added to my position this retrace.

XMR just hit $500,000,000 market cap, according to Coinmarketcap.com.   I believe it is at an all time high in USD terms.

It is indeed - we just jumped over Stellar to no. 8

But this seems to have legs.  I am reaching for the popcorn....

Yes been a battle between Monero and Stellar lately.  Bytecoin is coming up fast too and could pass both of them, although hopefully that pump will die out before long.

But nice follow up surge and $532,000,000 market cap.  Now we just need to push to new ATH vs BTC and will really be rocking it.

Nice 10% spike on XMR to barely take out the old USD ATH.  If there is some follow through, then very bullish but if it was manipulated up there to make a double top, then bearish.  But right now, go to think it's a positive development.

It's a bad news in a thread when people start talking about their fantasy dream prices in the future and not what the present reality is.  It reeks of desperation and that is not encouraging.

XMR underperformed in the recent alt mania, but it is still up over 50% in about a week in USD terms, so I'm trying not to complain too loudly.  I wish there was more aggressive active development around this coin, but I still believe in it and I have a large chunk of my funds invested.

The market doesn't seem too enamored by it at the moment.  Maybe that will change or maybe not, but time will tell.

XMR is only about $1.00 USD from All Time High.  It shows it at $27.75 on Trading View - March 17.

for the record XMR has just smashed the ATH in terms of USD

According to Trading View chart, USD ATH js about $27.75, so still a ways to go to reach that level again.

Total crypto market cap continues to surge higher:

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/

XMR is a Top 10 coin and it will likely continue to rise, along with the rest of the top ones.  Of course some will drop and some will rise, but the anonymous nature of Monero is a big plus and DASH/XMR/ZEC are the Top 3 there.   So great long-term prospects for XMR.

And short-term, it has sold off quite a bit and due for more of a rebound and then to higher highs.

Open letter to Bitfinex and my apologies if this has been covered in the thread already, but I haven't check posts in awhile:

"Hi I am a Bitfinex customer and I noticed you made several changes to the site recently.  One reason I prefer Bitfinex to your competitors is that you seem to be continually working to tweak and improve it to make it even better.

However one of the recent changes I feel is negative so wanted to give you some feedback.  It seems that the default view for "My Active Positions" and "My Active Orders" is to be closed, so you can't actually see your positions and orders.

For instance if I am looking at BTCUSD Exchange and want to go to Margin Trade, it automatically collapses them and I have to click on the little arrow to show them again.  If even go between Margin Trade BTCUSD to LTCUSD, it hides them again too.

As you know, speed is of the essence with trading and this just slows everything down. Also if you have an open position and open orders, it's important to be able to see them and act on that information that is displayed, so I'm not sure why you choose to hide them repeatedly, so have to take valuable time clicking and displaying them over and over again.

Please consider changing this so the default is to have them visible, or at least add an option in Account Settings to allow for this default to be changed, per user.

Thank you for your consideration with this matter."

The whole world can't start using BTC tomorrow.

What is the solution?

Gov'ts in China and India just took care of that for us.

you don't need to provide your SSN, just an ID with western union i believe.

have you considered buying amazon gift cards for when you want to cash out? or possibly spending your BTC to buy something.

Yes, but I would then have to buy something with the Amazon gift card and re-sell that right? Thought about doing that with iPads but it takes a bit of work and you could lose money in the process. ie I buy an ipad air for $500 and am only able to resell for $450.

There isn't really a market for reselling the gift cards here on craigslist and I'm hesitant to do business on ebay since it's paypal.

Yes you have to give your drivers license to pick up WU which is just about as bad as SSN.

Be careful with Amazon GC as people can buy them with stolen credit cards and then they reverse them. Or if you haven't applied it to your acct immediately, they can cancel them at any time.

Re: "BTC Is backed by nothing while the USD is backed by 'full faith' of US gov't"

BTC is backed by the laws of mathematics and the power of cryptography.

USD is backed by the 'full faith' of the US govt.

I sure as hell know which of these two I trust more.
only the supply side is backed by mathematics and cryptography, demand side is backed by market demand only, by all of us believing it is useful as a currency, without demand BTC is worthless no matter how rock solid it's supply is
That's not the kind of backing we're talking about here. Is the demand side of the USD backed by the US govt? No, if there is no demand, there's no button the US govt can press to magically create or enforce it. Sure they can attempt marketing, political P.R. and propaganda but in the end, nothing is guaranteed. So much for "backing".

Yes exactly...and a good example of this is that during the 1930s, people didn't value their USD enough, so FDR made it illegal for anyone to hold gold and all US citizens were ordered to turn in their gold to the federal gov't or face possible prosecution.   This was done to prop up the dollar because the "demand" wasn't enough.

You seem to be the only one who was aware of it.  The rest of us do not frequent "those" types of websites.

Until goodchristians.org takes bitcoin, we will not notice.

It's amazing how I read this all the time, but it makes no sense.

How does the USA back the value of the dollar??   There is no gold standard any longer.  If there is hyperinflation and your dollars become close to worthless, what do you think the US gov't is going to give you to "back up" your dollars?

They aren't going to give you gold.... land..... or even more dollars...they aren't going to give you anything.  Maybe an insincere "sorry, we screwed up" but most likely not even that.

Am I missing something here or are people who say that just as dumb/clueless as I think they are???

That concept "the rest of the world will save us" really doesn't seem to be working anymore. I think it's not working because most of the worlds governments/regulatory systems are as dysfunctional as the US system.

Yes exactly...China and India have already both come down hard on BTC.  Those are the two most populous countries on the earth and something like 2.8 billion people.  So next is #3 to come down hard on it and that is the USA.

And no it won't "kill" bitcoin as we all know you can't really kill the protocol but it will kill the chance for many more hundreds of millions of people to use it to make their lives better.  And it will also hurt the value/price of BTC of course.
