Claymore 10 + blockchaind drivers aug11 + patch + Win 10 creators + rx580s = the most stable mix until now!

When -r 0 no more system freeze, it just restart the miner smoothly. Fans are back in control when set the temp, voltage can be controlled (I have to figure it out why I can't go lower than 0.938 v). Overall, this is the most stable version ever. Thank you man!

you are correct I also just noticed this, no more system freeze.

just noticed a beta tab has appeared on the FE driver download page

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/frontier?os=Windows+10+-+64

So this has the same issue of no mem speed control.

But found a nice little speed upgrade.

Enable HBCC support in Applications/Global settings.

kill the miner first

mine went from 30-31/2250dcr to 34-35MH/2500dcr
Same power same settings
c1200/m945 (don't think power settings are working so they are default right now)

Thank you. Will try some of thouse. And about the tstop 75 is just additional, the cards are running mostly around 55c

The ULPS was already checked.

edit: Seems to be more stable with the ethi 4
edit2: not dual-mining

1160/2020

Honestly, if you have stability issues at anything above ethi 4, I think you have another problem. I've built over 20 rigs, all downvolted and optimized, they all run ethi at full speed and dual mine. I never have this 4Mh/s issue.

Set your core clock to 1100, 1160 is just not necessary. Also open up a HWinfo and check your cards for memory errors at 2020 frequency. If you have bazillions, then you will need to downclock the memory. Also, I don't know what brand of memory you have on your cards?

the 4Mh issue was because the monitor was not plugged into the pri gpu? normally the one in the first x16 slot. happens to me every now and then when I plug the dummy plug in the wrong gpu.

speed report

9.8/latest AMD driver (dag fix)

480/8G = 29MH/900MH dcr
470/4G = 28.8MH/635MH dcr = issue with stable hash, keeps dropping to 14MH
570/4g = 30MH/660MH dcr = issue with stable hash, keeps dropping to 14MH
Vega FE 16G = 37.5MH/1.3GH dcr = issue with heat, any thing over 60c throttles down to 32.5MH/900MH dcr

Cards used: REF 480 + Red Devil 8G 480 + Nitro+OC 470 and 570 4GB + Vega FE 16GB Air.

Boysie

I had the same observation.  With genoil, 1602MHz core and 1100MHz hbm2, before 60C it would report 41MH/s.  Over 60C it would report 31-36MH/s.

Have you had any luck setting a lower core clock?  I've tried changing mine and it drops the GPU down to 852MHz core and reported 31MH in genoil and 36MH in claymore.  In my house at the current temperature if I run claymore's miner at 1602/1100 it gets up to 70C and reports about the same hash rate as I get at 852.  I really want to play with down clocking but so far no luck.  So for now I'm running 852MHz core clock to keep my temps at 60C.  my ambient is 40C.

seems to be a windows driver issue, Wolf0 says it works in Linux.

Water block on the way will fit end of aug when it arrives and try and keep this baby cool and run at 40c and see if I can get it over 40MH but I suspect the mem speed will limit me, unless its heat limiting the mem in which case I might be able to stretch a little more from it. once they release rx vega there should be a driver update and hopefully down clocking core will be available and heat will get even better

Hi Claymore,

Are you working on getting your miner to work for downvolting with the dag driver fix that was posted yesterday? In other words, is there something you can do about it? I'm just asking because cvddc does not get applied with it, kind of a pain to go undervolt with Trixx and I don't want to mod the bios for this. Not that I don't know how, but it's just easier to undervolt with your miner.

That explains a lot although I didn't think any of the tools worked, I will check a few more

This might also explain the unstable hash on the 470/570 I have as I would be relying on the miner to set the power.

Finally I can test and confirm that AMD has fixed the issue with slowdown at high DAG epochs for Vega/Polaris/Fiji cards. They are going to release new drivers in a few days.

but if the new drivers are like 17.7.2 nothing works to set clocks/mem/pwr/temps/fans unless they fix this or a new claymore release works with new drivers.

Guys, I just tried the new AMD crimson driver 17.7.2, I would recomend to not update, it breaks compability, It's not possible to adjust anything other than the fan speed in 3rd party overclocking software such as Msi afterburner which is what I am using.

Nor does the claymore miner detect the temperature and fan speed anymore.

My GPU is a RX480 for anyone who wonders.

Best regards
Harry
Yeah i have the same problem, i go back to 17.7.1

Agreed same here, back on 17.7.1 with all working again.

Still no support for vega? I thought Claymore was working directly with AMD on it.

Claymore has indicated that vega support is a couple weeks away.  I have two vega fe's, so I feel you!
So do it
Looking forward for Vega hashrate

^^ That That and that!

Thank you for your early numbers by the way, they helped me make the decision to buy two!

I think they stand a really good chance of being awesome. but like most amd releases they well underperform until drivers get sorted and the mod world pulls it apart and works out how to make it run more efficiently and more than likely quite a lot faster. I think the rx500 days are very limited

hi, I'm getting an issue with pricing of coins be very far out and updating coins some times fixes it but rarely does.

any thing in the works to fix this? it kinda breaks quite a lot if you cant rely on the price being correct.
It looks like it's the exchange rates (listed in the status bar) are a bit old. In the Options dialog, Statistics section, do you use Coinbase as source? What if you change to Bitstamp?

I haven't changes it from any default settings.

I included the full screen as you can see the data/time it last updated at the bottom.

If I click update now it updates but stays the incorrect price, some times it changes to the correct prices and another click of update now will revert it to the wrong prices...so not really sure what's going on

And yes its set to coinbase.

Boysie, isn't it a shear disappointment 33mhs tops.
When 1080Ti is doing 40MHs with new code optimization?

Its an AMD card...as usual, don't be surprised if it get 50% better result
after few driver iterations

one bug that exists already is core clock cant really be changed. clock it down and you will half the perf with only 1 reduction, increase it by 1 and it will crash. this was the same sort of bug the 480 4gb had with its mem although no idea if its the same, they had the wrong multiplier so any changes were 100 for every 1 changed.

So I have managed to get a Vega working with almost all miners apart from any claymore so it seems its just claymore that's not working

lets hope he is feeling rich and got him self one or knows why its failing, maybe its due to recognising it as a gfx900

with no tweaking its using 250-270w @ 33MH but it gets hot and in a hot room its gets really hot and is throttling back and settling down at 25MH Sad although it uses less power its doing less

It has the same issue the rx 480 had with the card controlling the fan where by it would prefer to thermal throttle back to go slower than ramp up the fan, I guess this is a more quite option but it impacts the perf by quite a lot

You can get round it by setting the min fan speed at 80% and max at 100% and up the power to 20% but then its using 350w but is stable at 33Mh 1600/945

I'll play more and hope @claymore can fix the issue with his software, both zcash and eth/dual and night

What is your ZEC hashrate with your VEGA?

assuming you have read above what miner would you recommend testing zec with?

not really you are comparing a previously released and honed card to a newly released buggy default setting like a founders edition card..that's not even meant to mine let alone game on. And I can get 40Mh with some tweaking of some basic settings. Anyway early days and we can get this hardware to work for it self, remember the rx480 was some what a disappointment at the start until we got bios mods and starting play with the timing. we could easily see 40+ on this card with tighter timings.
