I have an Antminer S2 with a broken base board (only 5 of the 10 slots are active)
I'm hoping to find a replacement, but Bitmain had nothing to help me out with regards to that.
1 chip was damaged in shipping, but I have 4 that work fine but simply have no working slots to place them in.
If you have either:
1) A replacement base board to sell
or
2) Interest in buying the 4 remaining chips
please PM me!!

It would have to be a country... as any country we tried to do this in would steal everything we had in the name of justice or terrorism or really w/e as the masses are really stupid and believe anything.
I think it should be an enormous floating Bitcoin city, that could travel the open ocean. If these could be feasible and repeated the world would avoid overpopulation issues.
So wait, let me get this straight. By using bitcoins, I'm actually helping overthrow some alien overlord at the behest of a different alien overlord? If that is the case, what the hell is the point? In such a situation wouldn't it be prudent for humanity to just commit mass suicide and screw both aliens over? Further, the fact that they are so advanced that they could engineer us from the apes, would suggest that no matter what we do, we could not overthrow them. After all, they could just engineer those traits out of humanity. Why would they use some primitive lab rat as their proxy war?

Think you hit the nail on the head there. I've been reading through some of the OP's post on other sites and he seems to be a little bit off his rocker. I just honestly can't see how any alien race is benefiting from our existence, but who am I to tell you he's wrong.
I think if anything Bitcoin is awakening people to the control system that does exist,(whatever/whoever that might be) and love to see people on here not accepting the mainstream FUD anymore. Free your mind!
Did you ever figure out how to fix it? Having same problem with 5x R9 290x on windows 8.1 with catalyst 13.12 drivers. used the newest 14.xx driver but hashrate dropped about 100 kh/s.
My rig detects the wifi adapter that I am using (D link dwa 131)in the network manager, but when I try to get on to the web browser, it is saying there is now internet connection. Currently running Ubuntu 12.04. Would installing wicd help this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Difficulty Connecting to Wireless Internet (xubuntu 12.04)

I am currently trying to set up a miner on xubuntu 12.04 with a D-Link N 300 dwa-131 wireless adapter, on a MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard. My wireless network is detected, but when I try to use the web browser, it says that there is no connection. I have tried to hook it up with a wired connection as well, but that does not seem to work either.
Has anyone had any similar problems?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I am planning on purchasing the KnC Mercury miner and looking for 1 to 2 people to split up the cost and risk. I will take no cut for setting up the purchase and distribute all profits purely on percentage contributed to the pre-order costs.
