Ok, after informing the team of my status and waiting an additional 24 hours, I've got a slight status update to release to you all re: 1.2.2 update / hard fork.

After running numerous tests, we basically have 3 options to make this fork happen that have succeeded in every single test run I've done.  I have 3 separate builds of the wallet with which I've been testing, all of which are release-ready as of about 3 hours ago, each one implementing a different technique for making this reward drop a reality.  I've also been brainstorming some additional ideas with which to extend the longevity of the mining period and after this fork is complete I'll be speaking with the team about it and we will likely hold another poll to see how the community feels about these changes.

We are slightly (a couple of days) behind schedule now due to some unforeseen issues that came up during the testing/debugging period, but I'm happy to report that we're back on track, and as soon as I have had the chance to meet with the rest of the team, we're ready to release the 1.2.2 wallet.

This wallet will be a mandatory update in any case as it will implement a new hard fork of the blockchain (this was unavoidable), however, which method we're planning to use to deploy said update is still up for team discussion.  This prevents me from releasing any information on the specifics for the time being.

Also, I've been looking at a target block window of ~96 hours (still a bit short for my tastes) for the hard fork block target.  I'd like to get some community input before I set a hard target block.  How long do you all feel is a sufficient period to allow for exchanges and pools to update?

Let me know either here or via PM, and I'll discuss your feedback with the rest of the team ASAP.

Apologies for taking so long, I just needed to be 100% ready before deploying such an important update.

Full changelog will be included with the wallet for anyone who "has to know" what's new immediately.

All of that said, it is currently 4:58 am here in US/Eastern, and I'm exhausted.  This release will happen some time after I've had a bit of rest to prepare for the chaos that is sure to ensue.

We are very grateful for your tireless efforts. Wink

Hey community... Remember the ignore button... Unless you are enjoying the show... I know our community is far too mature to fall for any fud...  It's still 2 to 1 buy pressure... People want this coin!! Hold steady and don't fall for any negative talk... Everything is great... The features will be rolled out when they are ready... If you are in this for a quick buck then you are in the wrong coin... Anyone concerned about the price right now shouldn't be... Heck even Bitcoin is a long term investment right now... And cryptos in general are still in their infancy... When our dev's realize their vision to make this coin modular that's a very big deal... Because many new features will be able to be built into this coin without effecting the core... That's huge... I predict you will be reading articles about this feature in the near future!!

Stay calm and hold on!!

Cheers,

Ghosty

I just hit "Ignore" for 2 more clowns this morning, but I still have 4 more pages to read to be all caught up from yesterday morning, when I went to sleep....

Yes, this point you also make about FEATURE all being OUTSIDE the core is ground-breaking and makes us UNIQUE. To my knowledge this coin is the FIRST! I, also believe they are correct to keep things secret the way they do. Other coins realize we are a threat to them, and maybe would copy stuff. It is a legit concern and their secrecy should be applauded. It is the right choice.

Chinese would get to a point were ROI was not there anymore and its only good news for the crypto world as I see it.
One of my main markets is china and they have for years been a pulling factor, but the last year the pulling has changed to EU. Electricity has sky rocket in china so the mining marked is more equal now. US is still the cheapest  besides Sweden.
LTCD is a strong coin already and with the releases we will put out shortly even more.

Xircom

Mining machinery manufacturers, cheap to deploy their giant mine, with the help of some trading platform launched the short lever products, sold their own also not digging into BTC or LTC, lead to price collapse. This problem is particularly prominent in Chinese

I was checking the logs and looks like all the ip addresses are coming from China......

They want to blackmail me, I do not agree, so the attack site!!!!!

Shield off China's IP ,,please!!

sorry!!!!

Please explane in the forum what was happend.

Protection fees 2000RMB, I do not agree, then the attack
This kind of thing is very common in the Chinese, because competition

I do not compromise
I hope you can hold on

Expression may not be accurate, forgive me
If you really could not bear, I'll pay it, because it is my responsibility

I worry that, even if paid, there will be other people's attacks because LTCD have visibility of

So we have to make the site more robust, no longer under attack

DEV Team: When is the block reward reduction scheduled & what new rewards rates ?

Yesterday we had a meeting by Skype. The team agreed what the new block reward should be. I can't tell you yet what the new rewards are and when we role it out. But I can reveal it happens sooner than you think.

Also the Chinese version of the white paper and roadmap coming out very shortly....

White Paper Chinese version has been completed

I do understand the reasoning as to why to lower the amount.

That said; please consider that there are folks just getting into  crypto mining who don't have alot of hashing power and don't rent rigs for whatever reason (I am one of them. I just branched into scrypt coins 4 weeks ago using a 5-chip grid seed).

I get ~12 coins/day avg since the halving. Now compared to others here, that is a pittance.  I buy hardware as I can afford it.

My concern is that if it is reduced too much, new entry level miners won't stick around.
New miners are the ones that are gonna help grow the coin.   Don't cut them off.

I was mining a coin that was only cpu/gpu. At it's 6 month date; it switched the algo so only an R9 GPU could mine it. That forced me out as I was mining it on a laptop.
That Dev never replied to my PM and the community basicly said... too bad too sad goodby don't let the door hit ya on the way out. They said it had to be so to up the overall hashrate of the coin.

So when you make the changes to the block; plz keep in mind how this will impact the small miners and try to minimize the impact on them.
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Buying the coins is better way to obtain LTCD rather than mining

I have bought the 10BTC in bittrex

As a miner, any coins I mine I can convert to another coin or sell for USD w/o having to be subject to FinCEN rules as long as it is for personal use.  Converting USD to crypto coins is a grey area and my understanding of FinCEN rules is that you are transferring (converting) money and then are subject to licensing rules.  That is a can of worms I want to avoid.   In a previous post pages back; I have posted the link to the FinCEN info.

Yes, initially mining LTCD, now mining is better to buy cost-effective

Sorry, my English is not good
