Re: Time to buy more and HODL!!!
by

Right now, too many people are afraid of buying Bitcoin because of... the price. I remember that they were complaining in December because of high price. Also, they were saying that they could have bought when the price was lower. Well, now it's a proper time but most of them sold their bitcoins with a loss. I think I'll buy more. $6000 dollars seems to be a bargain which we won't see in the future.

Re: Bitmain edging close to 51%
by

I don't think that they are irresponsible, they won't perform 51% attack. They earn a lot of money on selling ASICs and mining Bitcoin. There is no point for them to increase the panic among the investors. If they actually performed that attack, it would be disastrous for our community. People would say that cryptocurrencies have failed and they would not succeed for the next few years.

Re: Is cryptocurrency help to expand the world business?
by

Cryptocurrencies will have a huge impact on businesses. They won't have to worry about their bank accounts being frozen by the government and transactions sent by them won't be stopped. Cryptocurrencies created a lot of new jobs and types of products. Creating and selling ASICs will be a huge business in the next few years, especially if a certain country decides to create their own crypto and replace fiat.

Re: WIll ETH pass BTC in 2019 ?
by

Ethereum won't surprass Bitcoin because it is worse when it comes to scaling. Currently, the whole transaction history of Ethereum is way bigger than Bitcoin's which causes a lot of problems. People don't synchronize their nodes fully which means that Ethereum network might become less secure over time. Bitcoin will continue to be number one thanks to Lightning Network.

Re: Time to stop using Bitcoin as a form of investment and start using it as payment
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 26/06/2018, 16:36:06 UTC
That's impossible to achieve, at least now. Many new investors buy Bitcoin only because they want to sell it for slightly higher price. Not to mention ordinary people who will dump Bitcoin if its price decreases. People will treat Bitcoin as a currency if there will be more shops accepting Bitcoin. Lightning Network should help us with that but it will take a couple of months more for it to become popular.

Re: My small advice about crypto market
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 26/06/2018, 15:46:23 UTC
There are many people who don't understand that this kind of things happen very often. They all want to earn as much as possible without losing money. That's not possible. Cryptocurrencies are actually something new and that's why people panic so much. Every person can easily buy Bitcoin and sell it at any time which makes it easier for the price to decrease vastly.

Re: Do you think other coins can come to close bitcoin value in the next year!!
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 26/06/2018, 15:25:24 UTC
No, they can't. Even Ethereum didn't manage to reach the price of Bitcoin despite large user base. Bitcoin price will continue to increase in the next few years. Altcoins will always be less valuable than Bitcoin. Usually when Bitcoin value goes down, altcoins also lose their value because of FUD and people exchanging their coins to BTC which they can easily sell.

Re: The truth about bitcoin
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 25/06/2018, 11:09:02 UTC
It's not only about Bitcoin but also about many different assets. People tend to buy Bitcoin even though they don't understand cryptocurrenncies or they don't even bother to read about them. People panic right now because its price is constantly decreasing without any particular reason. Don't focus on the price, focus on the technology.

I have seen many people talking about Blockchain without even knowing what it is. Usually, they were promoting scam projects and they wanted to draw attention by using cryptocurrencies. Thanks to the media more and more people have a chance to learn about Bitcoin. The interest in Bitcoin seems to be lower than a few months ago probably due to lower price. Let's hope that they people won't ditch Bitcoin because of decreasing price and focus on the technology.

Re: Know Your Customer

I'm trying to avoid KYC as much as possible. I don't want anyone to store my private information. There have been many leaks of such information. KYC is meant to prevent money laundering from happening but we all know that it won't help. Not every exchange force their customers to go through KYC. Many ICOs also demand verification for no reason.

Re: 5904 banks frauds in 3 months in India
by

How do India citizens feel about banks? What about the media? If I was living in India, I would consider using a foreign bank or keeping my savings only in cryptocurrencies. Fortunately, banks in my country rarely freeze accounts and steal money. However, I don't trust banks anymore. What a shame that crypto isn't accepted anywhere, many people would prefer to use it.

Re: ARGENTINA TO USE BITCOIN FOR INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 24/06/2018, 19:24:02 UTC
Current international banking system is way to centralised. Some countries have power to decide which countries should be excluded from the system. This has been already abused many times and it's not going to change unless we decide to switch to decentralised currencies such as Bitcoin, Monero and so on. It's a matter of time for some countries.

Re: Buy BTC half a year, loss 50%, how should I do
by

You should have been aware of the potential loss. Cryptocurrencies are not only about profit, you should invest in them only if you understand the basics and believe that they will play a huge role in the near future. I personally think that they will replace fiat and that's why I'm buying Bitcoin. Also, I find it interesting to learn about crypto.

Re: Cryptocurrency could help your business or not?
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 19/06/2018, 11:11:46 UTC
I'm not running any sort of business but I think that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could help some of them financially. If you have a shop in a large city then accepting Bitcoin would be something that could attract more customers. There are even websites which are forced to closed because of banks and PayPal closing accounts. Your Bitcoin address can't be blocked or deleted.

There are many other cryptocurrencies which would be easier and more secure as a money laundering tool. Bitcoin is not completely anonymous and it is possible to track transaction. Bitcoin is not only about money laundering but it is also an important currency which will be widely used in the future due to its adoption and growing value.

by

People don't do their research properly and believe in everything that was written on some website which is not even reputable among cryptocurrency investors. I don't see anything wrong in someone buying a few thousand bitcoins. Keep in mind that there are about 21 million of them. The price can be still easily manipulated but it is a matter of time before the market becomes more stable.

Replacing the current system will take a lot of time because of governments and banks resistance. People are also slowly getting used to cryptocurrencies and they will soon want to use them in their every day lives. There will be people who will choose web wallets instead of stroring their private keys on their own due to "security". People won't blame themselves for their mistakes, they will try to find someone who they can accuse. The new generation is going to adapt cryptocurrencies pretty fast.

Re: Do you spend less bitcoin/alts now?
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 13/06/2018, 18:38:38 UTC
There are two groups of people. Those who spent their BTC no matter the price and those who try to avoid using their bitcoins which isn't good. If the vast majority of Bitcoin users decided not to spend their BTC then hardly anyone would be interested in accepting Bitcoin as a payment. There would be people who would like to sell bitcoins (miners, investors) but it doesn't matterif there is no liquidity. Gold and silver is very popular in any country and can be easily exchanged to fiat in certain points.

Re: Ripple CEO: Bitcoin Is Controlled by China
by
brickafterbrickwalldpt
on 13/06/2018, 17:18:24 UTC
Bitcoin is controlled by China? Not really. The vast majority of ASICs is being manufactured and used in China but it doesn't mean that they control it completely. We could easily fork to allow GPU mining and disable ASICs but it won't happen. Developers are not from China and they can't control what will happen to Bitcoin. They couldn't force us to increase the blocksize, we chose SegWit.
