Yeah it's a lot of money to just swap on bitcointalk without a trusted intermediary, thanks for the pointer

Friends with Bitbills
by

Many years ago, back when Bitcoin was about $1, I gave some friends 1 BTC bitbills. They all still have them.

Is there still a premium for these? I have seen past posts about grading and so on, any pointers on the best way to have them graded and sold?

Luckily the default settings are too cold for batch3 so it will not harm your device, just crank the fans up to maximum.

Actually it quickly exceeds the default cutoff temp and shuts the chips down, oscillating as they cool down and warm back up. Only harm is lost mining time.

Watch out, the 2013-08-14 image seems to get rid of the temp cutoff settings in the Avalon GUI, make sure you add the appropriate command-line settings, especially for batch 3.

Just got mine this morning, up and running! No luck with btcdig.com, now using ozco.in.

Getting the cover on and off is a bit tricky. Don't really like the design. Is there a trick?

Running my 4-mod with a Corsair AX1200. Doesn't fit in the case. Sad

Got a text and a call yesterday from DHL re: my 4-module non-PSU Avalon. Said it was to be delivered today. Currently status is 'scheduled for delivery as agreed'. It's still a state away according to tracking though. I'll be impressed if it really arrives today.

Anyone's tracking info show any progress yet?  Mine just says "Shipment information received" in the beijing and surrounding area.

Mine's already in Hong Kong, DHL doesn't mess around.

Having run a room full of GPU miners, best method on the cheap is: room temp intake, shunt the exhaust outside. Done. No (increased) A/C costs.

If you read through and understand all of the lies they told, you'd understand they're a bunch of amateurs.

IMO 'lies' implies intent to defraud. I don't think many will disagree about the amateur bit though.

#8XXX, 4-module, no PSU. Still processing. I have a change-of-shipping method ticket in as well that hasn't been touched since it was lodged in March.

The main reason I ordered an Avalon was to have my vote in the BTC system, it's not just about ROI in BTC. I don't know if that matters to any of you, but it's something to keep in mind. All of your BTC are subject to the whims of the people running the network with their hash power. I had a large stake in that with GPUs until recently, and I don't intend to let it go. No refund for me, I'll take it when I get it (hopefully sooner rather than later of course).

April 15 update:
We are ramping up and the shipping of batch two has indeed begun, albeit not up to speed, we expect this situation to improve in a week or so once the equipment finish installing and the new, additional crew get use to the process. we are in also the process of merging many earlier problematic orders, if your order still does not show up in the store by Friday of the 19th please open another ticket.
Those who wish to trade in your FPGA generation Icarus or Lancelot: it is time to package and RMA those units back to us.. The bold text is probably when they will be starting.

Source? I wish they'd use their web site news to post updates.

4 modules, no PSU, 89XX. Chose EMS but I need DHL (oops). Paid 3/26.

BTW I've been trying to contact anyone (email, support ticket, PMs on here) about the above issue with my shipping method. Does it normally take them some time to respond to tickets?

EDIT: Country is US, sorry I forgot to add that.

Re: So THIS happened (burnt mobo pins), what should I do?

I described this problem some time ago along with the fix here: http://blog.brocktice.com/2011/05/10/too-much-power/

The problem is you need high-current-rated molex sockets on the ATX 12v pins. It's a cheap and easy fix. Even high-end PSUs like the Corsair AX1200 do not have these pins, an issue I bugged their tech support about.

H/T ArtForz for telling me about this in IRC ages ago.

Re: [ANN] Bit-Pay is now officially BitPay.com - New website, new features

I finally decided to use the magento cart plugin, but I get a message that the api key is invalid. I know the SSL is all set up correctly.

One problem I have is that the SSL SHA1 fingerprint field is only long enough if I strip the : characters out of the signature, so I have to either remove the :s or use a truncated version of the fingerprint. Could this maybe be a bug from the new site design?
