Is this accurate?

Why are you starting a witch hunt based on a wallet address that was already debunked as having anything to do with SM?

The reason there is whatever .666 there is because this idiot sent it there thinking he found the scammer.

You posted a BTC-E wallet address as seen in the following links.

mybitcoin.com potential lawsuit
by

on 21/06/2011, 17:55:11 UTC
There is probably a potential lawsuit against mybitcoin.com for negligence.

Numerous users have complained about the theft of bitcoins from mybitcoin.com
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=20427.0

If they were aware of the potential security breach and did not take adequate measure to protect their members they could be liable.

They would be held to a reasonable standard.

It seems Tradehill and Mt. Gox halted trading until passwords were reset to protect their members accounts.

That is the standard they should be held to.

I am not clear if mybitcoin went that far.

They have this message on their site:

IMPORTANT NOTICE - PLEASE READ!

MTGOX was recently hacked. Their password list was stolen and leaked to the internet. If you have a MTGOX account and the password is the same as your MyBitcoin account you MUST change your password immediately or risk having your account compromised. You have been warned.

If that is all they did it would not be sufficient compared to what reasonable competitors did, and was not sufficient as many users lost their coins.

Kevin,
MagicalTux says you logged in and placed the .01 cent order 3 minutes before the selloff began.

  Is this true?

You should also consider including in the timeline the Mt. Gox passwords purportedly for sale on Friday

http://securityforthemasses.blogspot.com/2011/06/mt-gox-db-purportedly-for-sale.html

and people reporting coins stolen from Mt. Gox accounts over the weekend:

"Limit 10 per customer".  Do you think mining had anything to do with that?

1) & 2) Any chance of pricing the contract in USD/BTC?  The forum thread called "rally" is about the BTC getting stronger and USD/BTC increasing.  Most look at it this way.
3) and 4) I don't think you get a choice but the contract should indicate whether they settle in dollars or BTC, I assume BTC.

10+ eBay.  How do I get the .01 BTC to start?
It does not seem like this is for brand new people.

Make it happen.  There are numerous posts in the marketplace in the last few days of people wanting to buy BTC with paypal.

There has to be a better solution than the six days it takes for $  >> dowalla  >> Mt Gox  >>  BTC

A bigger Mt Gox problem may be that it is the one dominant place to convert to BTC.

If it is taken down there would be a real problem bringing more dollars into BTC.

I am interested.

What to you estimate as the start up costs?

You should try talking to whoever is running Mt Gox to determine the regulatory hurdles and problems in running an exchange.

There does seem to be hoarding.  Perhaps more selling to reduce volatility and additional exchanges like Mt Gox would reduce volatility and increase credibility.

"Animated graph showing from which point in time coins have moved and stayed unused. Analyzed directly from the complete blockchain. You can see some fairly large (+200kBTC) chunks of coins being moved forward at once multiple times around the end. Coins from the first 240 days are barely moving. About half of the coins generated between the 300 and 700th day after the chain started have been transferred forward at this point. 22% of all the coins have moved in the past 30 days."

The exchange rate goes to $5USD / BTC, or in our terms .2 (BTC/USD).

Why are your terms different than the exchange rate?  Seems like it would make more sense to people to have $ strike prices.

Most likely you will have to submit as a jailbreak app.. in which case, evaluate if there are actually enough users to justify the project.

There are currently 110 million iPhones and 10% of those are jailbroken.  So 11 million is a pretty big market.
