Nobody can guarantee that any project will succeed even when developed with very good intentions, so the fact that some reputable sites list some good bounties and airdrop doesn't guarantee success either. Do your own research before joining any project.

Re: Germany gives tax exemption for bitcoin exchange operators

Germany is now a major cryptocurrency friendly country that I know. I am feeling that some people may relocate from their hostile countries to Germany or any other cryptocurrency friendly country. It will be far better for cryptocurrency if we have governments that are selfless and ready for innovation.

Re: Does it even matter if governments and banks accept cryptocurrency?

I agree with the statement that cryptocurrency provides more security than government and even banks but government still remains a force to reckon with when it comes to have an enabling environment for cryptocurrency. There will be a better result when governments are in love with cryptocurrency.

So many issues relating to the mass adoption of bitcoin would have been solved by the time there are adequate number of merchants accepting bitcoin for goods and services. Until that time, several people will be limited to using cryptocurrency only for trading and investment.

There are many companies offering virtual products and they have been in existence for years. Besides this, these companies have earned trust of several people owing to the reputation they have built over the years. People used to have utmost trust for ICOs until many turned scam.

If you are a type who is always looking for free money, you are most likely going to be a victim of scam. There are clones of major exchanges but if you pay attention to details, it will be easy for you to spot some differences between the cloned and the real exchanges.

Re: Sell car for Bitcoin
by

I want to believe that your friend sold one of his cars, meaning that he has a spare car which translates to spare cash. If that is the case, he won't feel bad for the fact that price of cryptocurrencies have been in decline for long and he may not be able to realize his $500,000 per bitcoin dream on time.

Nobody can do without money. We need money for virtually everything in life. The only thing that money cannot buy is life itself. So many people are still able to leave for years despite having diseases because they have money to pay heavy hospital bills. We are all here because we need money.

Re: A Billion People Will Be Using Cryptocurrency in 5 Years: Brian Armstrong
by
brooklynian

More than a billion people is possible within the next five years. The major challenge I see here is adoption. By the time a huge number of merchants adopt bitcoin, people from all over the world will be naturally compelled to use cryptocurrency for payments.

There are instances where we read that bitcoin featured in money laundry, terrorism and child pornography but I later read that this things are not as rampant as those negative news portrayed it to be. In fact, we have more of this with local currency. All I know is that there are scam done with bitcoin, especially through ICO.

I can't advise anyone to venture into bitcoin mining for now because it doesn't seem profitable in any way in my view and majority of the cloud mining firms are scam. You are likely not going to get all your money back. Bitcoin is cheap now, to buy and hold.

Several ICOs have turned exit scam after this and so many people lost money. Unfortunately, getting the people behind the scam is always difficult due to the anonymous nature of cryptocurrency. It is very important to do your due diligence and be thoroughly convinced before investing in any ICO.

Re: Do you HODL because you believe the price will go up? Or are you lost too much?
by

Whether you HODL in the hope to sell when the price skyrockets, there are times one has no choice but to sell because situation such as urgent need for money can compel you to sell. I have had that experience before. I will rather leave my coin in my wallet if there are no pressing need than to do panic sale.

Those governments are enemies of decentralization who feel threatened by the fact that people may start neglecting fiat currencies since cryptocurrency is not under the control of the government. Some governments believe that this will affect their economy severely.

Re: How the Bank works to make money?
by

Banks make money in a lot of ways. They earn commission on all the services they render, including some services that are supposed to be free. They earn interest on customers savings by lending it out at an interest higher than what they pay the depositors.

Re: stupidity is so close to poverty
by
brooklynian
on 22/11/2018, 19:58:26 UTC
It is enough to say that stupidity can breed poverty but not all the people who are poor are stupid. Don't forget that fortune won't just smile on some people so we can't call them stupid for that reason. But there are some people who will never try. Some think they know so much when they know nothing and yet remain poor. These are the stupid ones.
