FYI

The asicseer "SSH Restore" does not work with newest firmware for s9. It runs, says it was successful, but port 22 is still closed.

Need to downgrade to March first. Instructions added: https://asicseer.com/page/security-restoring-ssh

Haven't ever used Veldt, but I like that they accept multiple cryptos directly (and would prefer to support them specifically for this). Called them up and was able to speak directly to the CEO/Owner (without even asking--just had a question about stock). Glad to have stumbled across them, placed first order today. Will continue to add using them.

Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Cryptocurrency cloud mining - thousands of rigs available!
by

So.. still waiting on the refund that you guys said I was due from 2 days ago. No response still.

To anyone else thinking about renting here: I'd steer clear. Rented a large rig, performance was horrible. Tried 3 different (major) pools which he kept claiming were the "issue" even though all the other large rentals were fine on them. Used his pool (which defeated the whole purpose of the rental as I didn't want to mine one of the 5 shitcoins directly on his pool) and still got performance that was less than advertised by a significant margin. Betarigs offered me 10% back.. wow thanks.

Besides the fact that the performance of the x11 rig sucked, Betarigs should have some sort of option to cancel the deal if your main purpose for renting the rigs does not work and the owner doesn't mention it up front. I didn't want to mine BlackCatCoin or Hirocoin directly, but was forced to because this shit rig couldn't handle Blackcoin Pool, TMB, or anything similar. Mind you I have almost an identical amount of Scrypt hash pointed at the same pools and they handle it fine. I don't want to be locked into wasting 0.2BTC because this farm admin doesn't know how to properly tune his rigs.

I would have been 10x better off just buying .2BTC worth of any of the coins I wanted after this garbage experience.

I will also say the support staff here is incredibly slow to respond to any issues, unlike the other rental site that I've used.

Which mint made these coins?

NWT

I've spoken to them and apparently with the holiday they have been running behind schedule but it looks like they will be shipping to us sometime next week. This order will consist of 300 coins. 150 of those coins have already been preordered. So we will have about 150 give or take a few available to purchase/ship next week. I also placed an order for another 200 last week so we should start to have a steady flow of coins coming in each week beginning next week.

I sincerely apologize for the delays. I now understand why Mike (Casascius) always stated shipping could take a few weeks.

Do you guys have a website or anything to buy any of these or just via forums?

Yes my miners have been slowly losing hash rate until they shut down completely on CM.  So I switched to ipominer, CINNI and they had problems with cinni servers and again my miners shutdown, but never switched to backup.  So down all day.   Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

So I switched back to CM and gridseeds shutdown again.   Not sure what is going on?

What software/os on the grids?

lol.

Who said crypto's are supposed to bring "fairness"? Where did this idea come from that I see spewing out in the alt coin forums so often? What is "fairness"? Nobody said it was socialistcoin where we all get equal amount evenly distributed from some central authority. No matter what your medium of transfer is, someone/group will always end up benefitting more due to one advantage or another (informational/phsyical/whatever).

I think many of you are confusing a de-centralized governing authority and fully transparent ledger with "fairness". Besides, if you think the coin has legs or might go somewhere--buy some. To be honest, buying some on the dips will probably give you more return than some of the miners renting the hash got. Not to mention significantly easier. Too many butthurt kids whining because they couldn't mine on their nvidia's during minute 1.

I know, lots of communists are coming into cryptocurrency  Angry

haha  Grin

They're more than welcome to come--but they can't complain about how a coin operates (based on capitalistic principles currently). If they want a truly "fair" coin they can make their own and just give them out, problem is they'll quickly realize how that system doesn't work and cannot support itself. It has to have some sort of value (whether the value is being backed by money or costing money to create) for anyone else to value it.

Again, a little too deep for the majority. I guarantee it's just crowd noise that is sad because their parents made them get off the computer to go visit grandma for Easter and they couldn't mine it.

Why is no one talking about this coins horrible distribution? NXT had a distribution of less than a month which is still much higher than Cinni.

How will a coin with such a small distribution ever achieve widespread use?

This is obviously just a gimmick to make the coin appear scarce and valuable in the short term, but will only hurt it in the medium to long term.
It had a better distribution than many other pos coins even better than Nxt that's why noone is talking about that.

If you need Cinnis you can bought the coins on any exchange available.

Better than NXT? Are you kidding? Atleast you had plenty of time (relatively) to buy into NXT rather than 3 days for cinni. Especially over easter weekend when people are busy with their families.

I could say the same thing about NXT, if you want them you could go buy them. But you won't, neither will anyone else.
Why? Because who wants to use a currency that is controlled by such a small group of people?

Learn to fucking economics.

Cryptocurrencies are supposed to bring fairness to a corrupt and greedy financial system.
Way to innovate Mr. Cinni.

Welcome to proof-of-stake, all you've said is a fallacy. If you want to mine signup here: http://www.hashco.ws

Have a blade, have already compiled software and been messing around. Had no idea it didn't work with blades, but it definitely sees them Smiley

I would be more than willing to work with you and get this ironed out. CGMiner is terrible for me (on the blades) and BFGMiner is alright, but slows down.

May i make a suggestion, It would be best if your system included some sort of escrow that would guarantee its customers would indeed receive the service they paid for.

They basically do that in-house already. Rig owner's don't get the BTC until 24 hours after the completion of the rental period, assuming there are no tickets or flags raised. That's already plenty of delay to sort any issues out in my opinion.

Excellent choice again, ipominer. I've moved a big chunk of my holdings off and into bittrex for quite a gain. Cinni seems like a decent coin, but as a miner with costs gotta lock some profit in. Your pool has been fantastic and as always I appreciate your constant updates.

This coin should be renamed WhaleCoin.... the average Joe will not have a chance at getting Cinnis with the giant GPU/ASIC farms operating.

Amazing how it turned out to be most UNFAIR  distribution possible !

Cryptosapiens that could be said of any Scrypt coin launching recently.  Trick is to get in early before the big guys notice it, coins like WC & CINNI both had a good day of mining before the nethash spiked to crazy levels.

Sounds like a lot of whining. You can do what a lot of the "whales" are doing and rent hash and speculate on a coin, or just buy it directly on the first exchange it hits. bluewhackadoo is 100% right though, I was only using ~10-12MH/s of a personal farm and WC & CINNI were great early on.

Great to see the updates put in so quick for the renters! I would also ask for the ability to switch pools without having to cancel/recreate orders (I think thats probably causing the biggest amount of order spam) but I also know with the way your system is setup it might be hard to switch that info without an actual "reset" of the order.

Anyways, great stuff. I like your approach to renting.

ipominer just wanted to drop by and say fantastic service, thank you for your hard work. I know it can be tough and people turn quickly when profit is at stake, but you've been super active and I like the idea & effort in your pool. I'll definitely be looking to switch more hardware over and take on a bit more risks with the IPOs. All the WC that was mined in the .000002XX range has really paid off--and continues to do so.

Is there a donation address for the pool/you? I'd like to send some WC over as a thank you.

Few comments from a renting perspective:

Pleeease let us limit hash rate. It is cool to see 1GH/s fly over to a pool, but it is really not worth it--especially as you grow bigger. I would much rather be able to calculate and rent 100MH/s for 24hrs instead of getting everything you have for 25 minutes. This is especially annoying because most coins (esp new ones) are not PPS so unless you get incredibly lucky, you're throwing the money away.

This would also allow you to fill more than 1 order at once. If there are 7 people trying to throw BTC at you to rent rigs, it would be nice if you could take all of their money simultaneously instead of just 1 at a time (and risking that person going to another renting site to lock their speed down for set times). I think it would also help so you aren't ping-ponging the hardware around to tons of pools constantly.
