I recall them posting positive stuff about bytecoin and its clones which was complete crap. The coins were all from the same group.

Coin Telegraph was started shortly after ByteCoin was "discovered". Apparently, ByteCoin had been around for years but was just found. It claimed to only work on CPUs, not GPUs or custom stuff. It was a scam.
CT were proponents of ByteCoin and ran positive stories. Someone associated with them bought my CPU hash website (see above) and quickly added CT advertising which is still there. Why is that old, outdated site still alive?
Read this old post regarding ByteCoin and the related coins. There may be a few small errors but is generally correct.

As i said, there are a ton of sites out there and the "coincidents" are readable but not prooven, so i think we should skip bytecoin as it has evolved to monero. As i recall an interview with fluffy he said "The DEV of bytecoin was brilliant but an asshole!" I think it is time to move on and leave bytecoin with the other copies of monero behind, hence those are nowhere near monero, so that is enough proof for me

Is CT a legit source of news? I always thought they were run by the Russian Bytecoin group.
Years ago someone bought my site http://cpucoinlist.com and immediate added the CT logo.

Interesting question. Doing fast and cheap is very hard. May be easier with a larger amount like $1000.
Several places (Coinbase, Bitstamp?) accept Visa/MC. Using a debit card would make it instant.
Getting it from BTC back to the bank may be harder.

I can comment only upon exchanger. My definition of exchanger is someone that exchanges one type of currency for another. That currency can be fiat or crypto.
The answer is that it depends on the country you live in. I can only comment on the US. It is difficult. You will constantly have your accounts shut down. You will be scammed. The IRS needs its cut. It is like gambling.

Wall of Coins allows same day purchase with cash of BTC and Dash. You search on the page what the local offers are and which bank to deposit the cash.
Going to the bank can be a major PITA (pain-in-the-ass) in my area. So many people!
I tried bank deposit once at a BofA. I was told the branch would not allow me to deposit in another person's account.

I haven't tried anything that required wire transfers until today. Just sent $ to Gemini. I didn't realize I can wire money from my online bank portal.
Kraken says they work in my state now but there is an error. I have contacted support again.
I have tried many other methods in the past for buying but none were reliable for long-term. Western Union, MoneyGram, PayPal, various credit card transfers. They all start asking questions after certain limits.

I tested Gemini in the past and found $60 in my account! I will probably go back to them but I hate having funds tied up for 3-5 days.

Someone should really do some serious editing of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CryptoNote which misrepresents the whole CryptoNote/Bytecoin story.
The wikipedia article appears to have been written by the Bytecoin/Cryptonote team.
