I saw on MTGox.com that the date to claim is until 28th November this year. How do I do that? I mean, they have all the details, is there a form to submit or something like that? Please help I want to submit my claims,
Thank you,

Should I "participate" and enter my gox related email, and other information? If I won't, will I be left out of the settlement if such is reached?
I want to participate but I am afraid, with all these hacks and identity thefts going on... Please advise,
Thank you

What is going on with Gox.com?

It used to redirect to MTGox.com and now it seems to not load, any thoughts?
So, to sum this up... it looks more and more like there is/was a federal investigation that allowed authorities to both Gag order gox and also freeze their bitcoins. Now, for the GAG order to actually work, there needed to be a cover story - and the TID was a the mechanism to blame for everything, while the investigation is underway. IMO this is related to silk road/s.
If what I said is correct, then almost all of the Bitcoins should be "found" and it fits well what Mark said... the bitcoins are not lost - just temporarily unavailable. He put a link to a site called "gag" and a directory named gag on that almost same note.
So imo that's what's going on, but I could be MILES off, as there are many questions marks about this whole thing - as you would expect there be if this is the case anyway.

is there proof they own 530,000 BTC? back when peopl talked about the 180k-200k address, I saw the entire trail and it was proven way befotre Gox released the statement. So my question remains: are there similar proofs for the 530,000 you are talking about here? Keep in mind I don't click links for websites I don't know so I did not check the url the OP added to the post.

please note that the reasons for their disappearance and the exact number of bitcoins which disappeared is still under investigation and that the above figures may still change depending on the results of the investigation.
This caught my eye...
1. They call it "disappearance" instead of stolen. 2. They kept a window to further "adjust" the figures in the future...
This, to me... feels like they know a LOT more than they are telling us. Either because they are forbidden to disclose / gagged, or maybe financial reasons etc. I think that this "investigation" that is going on has to do with freezing gox's assets (in this case BTCs).

works for me too, I guess the 2nd authintication is disabled because the login only allows you to view the funds and not withdraw/trade

Actually.... if you read what he wrote... he said (oddly enought) "stolen / disappeared" why would he use the word "disappeared....." I'll let you answer that one.
... Earlier this month Blockchain bought RTBTC, a big Bitcoin exchange. On top of that, in a few weeks, Blockchain claims to be able to announce the biggest takeover ever in the history of Bitcoin.
IMO, since there were takeovers using more than 140,000BTC we will see 150-250K btc takeover by Blockchain in the next few weeks, and since the biggest company that seems to be in troubles and needs a takeover is MTGox, I think there's high probabilty its MTGox they are buying. Furthermore, blockchain helped MTGox with the fixing of TXID and they know the business well, and they have/had good/friendly relationships.

IMO this is a good thing - as I would like to see Gox back up and creditors repaid without involving the "justice system". This increases the likelyhood of them getting back to business.

I don't understand. OP, you held that many BTCs and left the unencrypted hot wallet in plain sight on your computer? Knowing this, you still opened a blatantly obvious virus/trojan?
What do you possibly think you can get from opening a MtGox2014 file? I think if you gotten a program that was named walletstealer.exe, you'd open that too.
Dude. Don't kick someone while he is down. In fact don't kick someone EVER.
A guy was rubbed after getting hammered by the Gox incident!!!!
OP: I'm very sorry to hear about your losses and I feel bad for you - thank you very much for sharing and warning everyone with your personal experience.
