Re: Need help recovering a Dogecoin wallet

Hello! About 2 years back I created a Dogecoin Wallet( I don't remember whether it was an online wallet or a desktop client) and got a receiving address and linked it to my freedoge.co.in account(Dogecoin faucet) which sent weekly automatic payouts to my dogecoin address. I just checked that my address has accumulated 292,000+ DOGE. I think I have hundreds of referrals on this faucet which earned me that. This is a significant amount and I no longer have access to it.
My address: DRoEhzn615a2FT141Tcf6Eb4YRPdpMGtDv
Is there any way to know which Wallet provider or Exchange this address belongs to so I start searching for any prvt key/login details I may have stored in my old laptops.

you can check your old emails during 2014-2017. if you created dogechain.info wallet, there would be emails from dogechain.

Re: Dogecoin recovery? Can someone please help

Hi all,

On my old laptop I had my doge wallet installed. When I open the wallet i cannot locate the key file anywhere.

So the wallet cannot open any file. Every file produces an error, I must have accidentally deleted the wallet file.

I have my private key and password saved but cannot use it due to the wallet file missing.

I was using the dogecoin core wallet for Windows.

Is there a way I can get to my dogecoins?

Thanks

maybe your key is protected by your password.

Hi guys,
I have a question about dogecoin wallet recovery from the dogechain website. I lost the e-mail it was connected to, so I cannot get a 2FA code. Their support is also not responding at all.
Unfortunately I only found this article now -
https://news.bitcoin.com/how-to-recover-a-lost-dogechain-info-wallet-password-and-unblock-2fa-keychainx-expert-explains/
Does this method still work? I can't get the encrypted wallet from the api response now, maybe I'm doing something wrong
How would I decrypt the wallet, with which tools?
Unfortunately the article is not very specific on this.
Thanks in advance for the help!

if you know your Wallet ID, you can try to contact privacy@dogechain.info ask them to send you the encrypted backup of your wallet. it is protected by your password. there still a chance to recover the doge although it needs a lot of work to do.

Now you can access to your dogechain.info wallet again till 31 December 2024. they reopened the wallet service now.

there are two kinds of keys actually in old days.

1. the raw private key. it start with Q or other number+ letters. You can use this on dogecoin core wallet. just import and do a rescan. the address will show on core wallet. then you control the dogecoin again.

2. in old days, Dogechain allow you export a backup, which is encrypted by the password. which start with: salt(+xAbcdef+abcd/efg...==)
can only be used on dogechain.info wallet before. but now there is no such option. have to do coding work on it to try to recover the Raw private key to control your doge.
wish this helps.

I'm not sure I understand your line of thinking, OP.
Do you believe Multibit's authors purposely inserted bugs in the software to prevent users from accessing their own wallets?

I discovered Multibit last year only and I'm curious since I've been researching various approaches to help a friend recover his BTC from Multibit 0.5.18.

I ended up succeeding using scripts to bypass Multibit altogether.
Personally, I don't know if Multibit author's intentions were malicious or not.
What I know is this:
- the BTC were still in the wallet and there had been no transaction since the 3 original ones from 2014 and 2015. If their goal was to steal, they didn't succeed.
- my friend told me that the password I discovered was based on one of his old personal passwords
- BUT the working password had some unreadable unicode characters in it, the kind he wouldn't even know how to type on a keyboard (would require ALT+[XYZ] to generate on Windows)
- when I tried pasting the working password inside Multibit's UI input field (including the unicode characters), as a regular user would to export the private keys, I still got this message:

Quote
The wallet password is incorrect

Not sure I'm being clear, here's a screenshot:
https://imgur.com/a/4E3rDZY

So at the moment, I do believe Multibit 0.5.18 stores user passwords in a flawed way, preventing users to access their wallet even with the correct password.

You're not in this boat alone. I hope it helps you move on or try a new approach.

Good luck.
This is caused by the bug of old multibit wlalet. if you still have the backup. there is still chance to decrypt the key file

Re: Multibit: Corrupt Wallets

I have wallets created with Multibit Classic (specifically, v0.5.14).

Shortly after creating my wallets, I added passwords to them. Later, on one wallet, I changed the password.

Flash forward some years and these wallets do not unlock even though I am 1000% using the correct password.

When I compare these wallets to other Multibit wallets (without passwords) by File Size, they are much smaller.

When I attempt to unlock these wallets with the correct password I receive the error "Provided AES key is wrong" whereas all other strings return "Could not decrypt bytes"

Since the software can distinguish between a correct and incorrect password yet cannot make sense of the contents, I can only conclude that this means the wallet is corrupted, and that the corruption occurred in the encryption process and not on the filesystem afterwards. I have tested HardCorePawn's utility on GitHub (https://github.com/HardCorePawn/multibit_recovery) and similarly I receive different output when entering the correct password, proving that the password is right, but the contents are corrupt.

This is a very big deal. We're likely talking about an eventual 100's of millions if not billions of dollars in BTC between all the Multibit users who will have been struck by this issue, many of whom probably still hold out hope of one day 'cracking that password'... not knowing it isn't the password that is the problem.

I'm looking at broken software that corrupts precisely the wallets you most want to protect, simply by using the software as was intended. And as a modest person and true believer, I trusted that one day I'd be able to come back to those wallets, but now I see.

My question is, what now?

This is a pretty gutt-wrenching thing, my heart goes out to everyone else facing the same. I just hate the feeling of 'well, that's it, there's nothing I can do'...

This is a bug of the old wallet. unless you have made backup, there is low chance to recover it as the data is corrupted. if you have other files, there is still chance to recover it.

you may post some screenshot of the wallet you used. if you really have btc on the wallet, there should be balance when you check the address via blockchain.

Hi

My wallets have just disappeared after I have restarted my Mac yesterday.
I have saved the wallets however I did not export the keys nor encrypted them.
Now when I am trying to open a one of them (say #07) I am getting this message:

Opening wallet "/Users/media/Desktop/CV/#08-20130630223650.wallet"...
... done.
Opening wallet "/Users/media/Desktop/CV/#09.wallet"...
... done.
Opening wallet "/Users/media/Desktop/CV/#10.wallet"...
... done.
Synchronised with network.
Opening wallet "/Users/media/Desktop/CV/#07-20130630223650.wallet"...
Could not load the wallet file "/Users/media/Desktop/CV/#07-20130630223650.wallet".
The error message was "com.google.protobuf.InvalidProtocolBufferException Protocol message tag had invalid wire type."

Has someone guys had a similar situation ? What is causing this ? Is there any chance to recover the wallet\get the private keys ?

Your help much appreciated

l3sny

Bitcoin, Bitcoin and stay with Bitcoin, because it's the safest for you as a beginner. If you can't do the research yourself, holding bitcoins is best. But if you've watched someone over the years make a good living with crypto, why don't you follow him and wake up now. You may be too afraid of risk to have more desire to get into crypto. Don't use minimal knowledge, you have to learn the basics of crypto and it needs to be done. Don't ask which crypto is good for investment, but ask yourself if you are ready with crypto and all the risks.

true, in the long time view, bitcoin maybe not the one with highest return, but the most secure coin to invest.

if you want to invest for a long time, choose the POW based coins. dont choose POS tokens. the POS tokens could be very risk and prepared to crash to zero. just the DAO and FTT. when there is problem with the stake, then the tokens is useless. some tokens issued by specific organization, company or some individuals also is very risk. after they got enough profits, may sell all tokens. then most investors will get burned. you may try to diversify your packaged investment with top 10 coins. not financial advise, just what i did on my own.

at least $doge wont crash to zero like those shit tokens as it adopted the Proof of Work rather than the POS. POS is not a fully decentralized token at all. there is hidden risk for long term holding. for speculation, shit tokens is ok, but it need much luck or insider info. it is more like betting but with lower odds than betting.

recovered your spending pin on btc wallet for android

Bitcoin Client Software and Version Number: bitcoin wallet on android, ver 5.31, source code https://github.com/bitcoin-wallet/bitcoin-wallet (sorry idk if that's helpful)
Operating System: wallet is on my Samsung galaxy s7 edge
System Hardware Specs: n/a
Description of Problem: i lost my spending pin somehow and ran btc recover for 4-7 character pins (all numerical btw) to no avail. I'm guessing my pin is 8 digits or higher (I'm betting on 8 ) and I am having no luck finding help from even the wallet recovery services people who charge 20% of your total wallet. if anyone can help me I will reimburse you, I realize this is time consuming. thank you.

generally,  the spending PIN takes more difficult way to encrypt. so it is very harder to get decrypted. according to my personal experience on 2 cases. there is still possible to recover the 10-12 digits, even longer one with special skills and experience plays more important role.
i would advise the users to set the spending pin to protect the btc in case your kids set it to a random PIN by accident.

Why Dogecoin can't hit $1, and how? 🕸
by
btc2doge
on 22/02/2023, 15:49:41 UTC
When i open my twitter, there are tons of new feed on doge. Many people is promoting and posting. however, the price of doge is under $1. i think the main reason is that most of them did not even understand the definition of Currency and the Most basic function of a currency:
1.store value
2.medium of exchange.

BTC is capped @ 20million. thus BTC can serve as a medium to store value🔥, while Doge with a inflation rate each year. the bigger quantity is suitable for daily transaction and daily use⚡. currently, the basic fee is only 0.01 doge/kb, the speed improved very much. but the price still near $0.1 recently. not even mention those $1, $8 claims. just a dream.

To make doge break $1 or $8. the only way is to promote it to be adopted by stores worldwide. Just use it!. this is the only intrinsic value of doge. tipping is a past as every doge make sense.

if you have chance go to China. you will be surprised that everyone use Alipay/Wechat to pay everything. buy food, car, apartment etc. about 10 years ago, 90%😲 of Chinese mainly use bank card, POS to pay big and cash for daily life. now, 95%+👀 Chinese people only take a phone to do everything. this is adoption.

If i was the owner of the top 1 holder with about 30 billion doge. I would spend/spread 5-10 billion doge to promote it worldwide for adoption. it is easy to make 100x return and the price of doge will be more stable. This is the only way to make doge valuable. otherwise, it has no other competitive advantages. then your 30 billion only is a number and hard for you to cash out at a Good price.

IF doge wanna break $1 or $10, the wide adoption is the only way. posting on twitter is foolish.

without wide adoption, it will never hit $8, even hard for $1 in a short time. it is only a picture.

if you doge wanna break $1 or hit $10 in reasonable time
then do,
1. To promote doge to be adopted worldwide > posting twitter
2. The big boss need take action to promote (donate Big to charity, college, contest, etc) if not, many other tokens will dillute the market making your ~30billion doge @ lower value😨.

大神你好,用litecoin-qt转帐几笔莱特币,有一笔未确认,用了 -salvagewallet 命令后显示有币转到别的地址,因该是失去了找零地址的密钥,造成损失了,现在怎么办能找回吗。

可以嘗試“
1.rescan”,不行再試試第二
2.removeprunedfunds “交易ID”

現在都是HD錢包,只要沒成功發出,一般不會丟幣

You can use Btc recover to bruteforce. this is the only way. managed to recovered one with 10 digits number and one with 12 digits number. this require big computing power. sometimes, you also need luck.

do you recovered the Spending PIN. had solved a 10 digit, 12 digits spending PIN for my clients before. let me know if you still get locked.
