Around 4-5am EST the price dropped for an instant, i'd say around 5-530am EST it was closer to 450-500 USD and then slowly crept up to 600+
Is this what those day traders at BTC-E wait for? I guess I can see how it could be profitable but sitting at a computer waiting for something abnormal to happen seems pretty dull.
Bobsurplus: Which exchange did you use to execute that trade?
BTC-E
When did BTC-E drop to $200? The avg price is still around $600.

Is bitcoin's value dropping because of the halt of withdrawals at Mt. Gox? If so, does that mean the $600 range and most btc growth is dependent on the performance of the top exchanges? Where would btc be if we lost all the main exchanges?

Thanks for the advice! I'll contact Coinbase and Bitpay to see if they have any solutions.
Can anyone think of another way of doing this? I'm open to all ideas.

I'm a gold and silver buyer working out of a retail location. We would like to offer customers the option to be paid in btc when they sell us their precious metals. Is this something we can work with Coinbase or Bitpay to implement? We don't want to invest capital in keeping a large inventory of coin on hand because of the price fluctuation and our initial test on btc interest in the area was low.
