You should sell it for less than how much you paid for it, in USD, and accept the BTC equivalent. Now, you may add a premium on top, for your "assembly fee" and software installation or whatever, even if you've tweaked it for hours, it still won't be much.

But good luck, I'm sure someone will still buy it.

I can do escrow if you want.

Thank you Dabs, will contact if escrow needed.

You can't find 7950's right now, and if you can they are over $500 bucks a piece.

Not intending to thread hijack here, but if this actually is the case I've got a Sapphire 7950 3GB DDR5 975mhz core 1300mhz memclock card that I'd be willing to sell. Especially if the price is in that sort of range  Smiley

The card is still under warranty, was purchased in march 2013 has mined, but never continuously for long periods, has also never been overclock and never ran hotter than 69*C

The 79xx series has been discontinued, and the supplies went dry, so yes it's true you can hardly find them.. but people are panic buying these cards when they don't need to. The R9 280X series is a rebadged/better 7970 going for $300msrp right now.

MSI 7950's (the best of the 7950) were going for $200ish until they went dry. No need for people to pay crazy prices for these right now.

Can you find me 12 in stock R9 280's? Looks like your best bet for those will be early January. Wonder what the difficulty will be then.

Re: Looking for a Chinese partner to arbitrage with

Remember how BTC-E has always had low prices? There's a reason for that: hard to get money in.

And you know how now BTCCHINA has really high prices? There's a reason for that, too: hard to get money out.

If it was easy to do, people would already be doing it and we wouldn't see as large a gap as we do. China is a Communist country, and they have a strong hold on their currency. Just doing some quick Googling, Chinese residents can only send $50,000 per year overseas.

So, let's say you put up $45,000 to buy 150 coins. Send them to China, sell for $340 each, split the $6,000 profit with your Chinese partner, and have them wire back $48,000 (while also possibly paying taxes and bank fees, etc).

Oh, and don't forget to add in your trip to China  Cheesy

So you might make $3,000 for the year. You could exceed the limit by having your Chinese contact's friends and relatives send you transfers in their names, but it seems like that would require even more trust.  And if the price of bitcoins goes way up and the price difference stays the same, you'll hit your limit earlier and make less profit.

It's a nice idea in theory, but I don't think it will pan out as well as it looks. Please let us know if you do try it, though!  Smiley

Thank you, I was not aware of the oversea limit of $50k! If anyone knows a way around this.. let's talk. I can think of a couple..

automatically arbitrage Or manually ?  Are you a programer? More details plz Grin

Manually for now, looking to trade a couple hours a day and send transfers once a day, or every other day. Ideally looking for a 50/50 partner, but would be willing to pay transactions fees instead. I'm also learning to use API so in the future we can definitely try to automate more.

Hi all, I'm US based and I'm looking for someone with a BTCCHINA account that would be interested in arbitraging with me.

I would be willing to fly out to China to meet in person and go over all the details and figure out a way to make sure the whole process is safe and secure for both of us.

If anyone is interested in talking about this please let me know.

Thank you!

Crypto Financial receive approval for banking application??
by
btcbvi
on 05/11/2013, 15:11:19 UTC
Hi all, first post in the newbie section. I joined to find out more about Crypto Financial (CFIG) traded through Havelock Investments. I have been following the thread in the securities section but do not see any discussion of their banking application and whether it has been approved, or if any guidance has been provided from regulators.

Any news or information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you
