What are the cons and pros of this change for users?
Particularly, how will this affect the 1BTC payout? And, just out of curiosity  what is the reason for this change?

It doesn't affect the 1BTC payout, because as soon as the balance (the sum of the credit of all deposit) reaches at least 1BTC, it gets paid back.

Cons: almost nothing.
Pros: it's more fair for everyone.

Reason? If someone has a big account (example 1000 btc), and it gets completed, actually if it sends other 10 BTC, he will obtain results at the speed of 1010 BTC (now it doesn't matter, but as soon as hardware will start to fail, he would subtract hashing powers from new deposits). After the change, he will gets rewards at the 10BTC speed, so every deposit will have the ~10 months return.

The new feature will just "expire" old deposits when calculating the allocated MH/s per account.

However hardware will be kept at work for Pyramining, and the result is that there will be a better MH/s per BTC for everyone.

That explains a lot for me, thank you.

2) Deposits will be kept separated inside the account. Now all deposits are joined in one single balance. Soon they will be kept separated inside an account, and it will be possible to see the completion % of each single deposit.

This will not change anything for current members, it will affect only new accounts, made after the update.

What are the cons and pros of this change for users?

It was down for maintenance. I will manage a way to put up a notice for the next time. By the way, new infrastructure is online, I didn't finish yet but from now on, you should see an increase in rewards. I'll work hard Saturday and Sunday too.

I definitely see a change in my rewards. Already got three times my usual reward today!!

Great news Smiley

Yeah : We have superstatistics :   only 67 BTC for next GH/s    hashing power supposedly goes up to 14,8 MH per BTC  , 120 GH will be added.....so lets advertise!!

Its just that mining rewards are constantly going down day after day after day.....even as the first box was added, the break even time went out to 10 months

if thats the plan to return invested capital on the new infrastructure ......... we provide.......break even is put out to never been seen again....something fishy here

and its not even in the referral scheme Undecided

There is 3 days max left for the new hardware to be installed. So until then, nothing fishy is going on. Am I anxious to see the hashing rate double, you bet, but I am being patient.

Have faith, and imagine that what you want is already there, instead of producing negative energy Smiley

Any idea of around when the new infrastructure will be ready? I know it's probably a lot of work, but I'm just wondering.

I'm working in making all the stuff ready. Tomorrow the first box should be ready and it will be connected and in the following days I will connect all the others. In a few days they will be all online.
Excellent.

Why is it necessary to enter a captcha during log ins if people can do is check stats? There are no options to change so there is no reason to bot it or anything.

You get to see more stats, and most importantly you see your payout address and your referral links.

Why there are no accruals or payouts today? My balance is still at 0.84 and not moving. How soon you will migrate to new infrastructure?

Here is a quote to answer your question.
Can't wait for the new hardware (the near-near future upgrade) Smiley

Yesterday I tested the pre-production units (prototypes), they were working as expected, in ~ 10 days the new hardware will be ready.

So, according to my calculations the new hardware should start mining around 1st or 2nd of July.

Both points will be fixed in short time (less than 3 weeks, I explained in previous posts the actions I am taking to keep ROI times aligned to expectations). Meanwhile if P2Pool keeps it's low efficiency, I won't point new miners at it, so its performances will not hit Pyramining.

For the future things can only improove, and ASIC technology can only positively impact Pyramining: new infrastructure will be bought at even better price/performance ratio.

Can't wait for the new hardware (the near-near future upgrade) Smiley and really glad about the news about ASICs, makes a lot of sense: it shouldn't matter what hardware is used for mining, the abstract of the service stays the same.

Anybody knows how today's Butterfly announce of the ASICs is going to affect pyramining deposits?

Here is a thread dedicated to this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87934.0

I think this is a bit suspicious. There is no announcement on the butterflylabs.com, which to me is a red flag. But I really hope to be wrong, because those numbers are unreal   Grin

I have tried a lot of sites that give you a fraction of bitcoin, and I found that I like this one the most: http://www.freedigitalmoney.com/en/Bitcoins

What I usually do is go straight to the videos on the RadiumOne tab, if there are any. The videos give 1 bitcent for clicking the play button. And sometimes you can get over 10 bitcents in one session Smiley)) If you are based in USA, you are more likely to see advertisement videos. All other offers take waaaay too long to be worth your while (but I do sometimes go for easy email submits). Enjoy!

I don't know if it's worth to mention, but on the roof of the facility that hosts Pyramining there is a PV plant (PhotoVoltaic) of 70KWp, producing a bit more than 60000 kW/h per year . It has been installed previously for other reasons, and doesn't feed equipment directly but injects power into the grid. Pyramining is consuming actually ~25000 kW/h per year, and the whole infrastructure (that exists beside Pyramining) is still under 60000 kW/h per year, so actually I can say it's running on green power.

http://pics.agaland.it/~pyramining/photo/photo_thumb.php?dir=505620706c616e74

It's password protected, password is:   sunpower!

If Pyramining will keep growing at this pace, this plant will not be enough to support it completely. In order to prevent pollution, I will take actions to expand it by installing PV cells over other buildings. I can't guarantee that Pyramining will always run only on green power, but I will do my best efforts to try.

All I can say is That is inspiring! Smiley))

I intentionally designed links to expire. There are several reasons for this, for example, it wouldn't be nice if someone posts a link in a "lucky" place that comes out as the first link on a google search: he would get a lot of referrals while others not. Another reason is that it would be a waste of resources if someone posts a link somewhere, his account gets completely rewarded (and then inactive until he deposits again) and he still keeps getting referrals without gaining anything from them due to the "inactive" status of his account. I think that this way is better, everyone has to actively "grow" his referrals portfolio, keeping an eye open on what happens.

Ok, cool. your reasoning is to my liking Smiley

Just wanted to say it's incredible to be able to see the changes to infrastructure happen in one day with no interruption to the service. Way to go pyramining!

Also, pyramining, I had a question about referral links: is there a chance that an account could have just one link, that unlimited amount of investors could join through? Or is this something that you intentionally designed like this to prevent abuse?

I think you mentioned that for now funds are just added up when deposited, but in the future when new funds are deposited they will be put into a separate (parallel) account. How would that work? And if I intend to reinvest part or all of my pyramining payouts back into my accounts, will it be practical to do with the new infrastructure or will it be better to deposit larger amounts?

Would you (pyramining) eat the cost incurred by quitters? Or will this be covered in the exit fee? Or will we simply see the "equivalent Hashing Power" drop?

What is the worst case scenario under which you (pyramining) will still generate profit?

Pyramining doesn't support "quitting", I am just considering an agreement with "The Rock", which is a separate independent company.

The cost incurred by "quitters" is "eaten" by The Rock (Eliale), who becomes the owner of the position previously open by the quitter. On the Pyramining side nothing would change, the account remains active with its owner replaced.

Equivalent Hashing Power doesn't drop, and nothing changes to other members.

The only case scenario that is coming on my mind, under which Pyramining could not generate profit anymore, is where for an unexpected natural disaster all the equipment gets destroyed. I think that the chances are _extremely_ low.

If Pyramining business will grow big enough, I will geographically distribute all the mining resources ro further reduce those risks.

Thanks for clarifying. Makes sense. Smiley

Well, newbies, I figured you all might want to get your first few bitcents. They might not seem like much at first, but they'll give you better interest than a bank. Plus, they add up, especially if you bookmark and do them every day. For most of them, you have to look at a few ads (click on a few, makes money for the site owners) and enter a CAPTCHA and a receiving address. Then, just wait a while- as many as 24 hours depending on the service- and there you go! It's quite the run-around, I know, but free money!

Bitcoin Faucet (Once, I think): https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
Bitcrate (Daily): https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
Daily Bitcoins (Daily, duh) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
CoinAd (Daily)  https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
MyCryptCoin (Hourly!) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
FiveMinuteCoin (Twice Daily) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
24 Hour Coin (Daily, be sure to click the ad)   https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
Bitcoin Dispenser (Basically a free-to-enter lottery) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
CoinSlot (Daily, never actually gotten a payment) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
CoinWorker (Do boring, menial work for BTC) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
Bitcoin CAPTCHA (Solve CAPTCHAs for BTC) https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
BTC for shortening links: https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php
BTC for completing surveys: https://bitcointalk.org/annoyance.php

Great list. I am especially intrigued by the CoinWorker.

And IMHO http://www.freedigitalmoney.com is much better alternative to http://www.freebitcoins.org/

And here is a link to my recent favorite for making profit from BitCoins in the long run:
http://www.pyramining.com/referral/eksc9g4qz

Coinworker's great, but one word of advice: Don't do anything worth less than five points. The best ones are near the bottom and say "Answer a few questions about a website", but all of the 10+ point ones are worth it.

Thanx for a tip!

First of all, I want to say thanks for creating this service pyramining! I was thinking about investing into btc mining, but the price of entry is too steep. This service is great for me because I don't have to buy any hardware, and do anything really. I wish it to run for the long years to come.

3) You do some activity to find referrals, and someone joins using you as their sponsor.
You start with the bonus like in points 1) or 2). Everytime someone joins using you as sponsors and deposits any amount, your bonus will increase. The exact increase can be calculated with: ((sum of referral deposits / your deposit) / 10) ).

Also, I have a question about the 3rd point. Let's say I deposit 0.01 BTC and my referral deposits 10 BTC. Given your formula, the result is ((10/0.01)/10) = 100; The question is, am I right to take this number (100 in our case) and multiply it by the amount I deposited to get the final reward?  So if there are no more deposits, my reward would be 1btc Smiley

Also, do you have any pointers on where is a good place to get some referrals (other than this forum)?

David_Benz:

A friendly note. You continue to pretend that physical violence will ever come from threads here (childish as all hell) and you continue to state things that are completely ignorant but appropriate for a passionate newbie.

Take some friendly advice and take everything with a grain of salt, do some homework, and stop listening to the conspiracy theorist loonies on this forum. Not every successful company is of Free Masonry, witchcraft and evil. You'll also have to prove your claims that any of it -is- evil because so far I'm just seeing a random nobody on a forum who thinks he's Atlas reincarnated.

We don't need another Atlas. We already have more than one (everyone is Atlas!)

On that note, you seem to be passionate about "saving" bitcoin, but I wasn't aware it was failing. Do you realize that your argument is insulting to everyone on both sides of the arguments? We're either supporting a failed concept (because it needs saving) or we're supporting evil (because you said so). Get a grip.

(And yes, I'd gladly tell you to get a grip to your face, in a cage, in a tree, on a box, with green eggs and ham etc who cares where or how)

Cool confidence is way more convincing than sensationalist rant Smiley
I'm going to continue using MtGox, in homeopathic manner...so if something does go awry I won't lose that much.
