[FREE ESCROW] Free Escrow service - No escrow theft risk
by
btcinstant
on 15/11/2013, 22:42:33 UTC
Hi I'm BTCInstant
I'm going to offer my escrow service but I'm not going to manage any money I'll just decide if there will be any kind of dispute

So how it works

I'm going to use this website bitescrow.org

Example
-User A has some apples that wants to sell to User B

-Users A and Users B contact me and I'll give them an Invitation Code (one for User A and one for User B)
(Do not tell the invitation code to the other user untill you receive what you have bought)

-Users A go to Bitescrow.org and click on "Payee" he put his  "Escrow Invitation Code" and then click on Generate Payment Invitation and he'll get "Payment Invitation" and "Address"(to receive the money)

-User A send to User B "Payment Invitation" and "Address" ( Do not send those info to me or I could withdraw your btc )

-User B go to Bitescrow.org  and click on "Payer" , put his  "Escrow Invitation Code" and his "Payment Invitation Code" if it doesn't give errors he can send btc to the address provided by the User A

-User A check using Blockchain.info/address/ if the User B has made the payment to the address provided and the he send the apples to User B

- If User B get the apples can give his  "Escrow Invitation Code" to User A

-User A go to Bitescrow.org  and click on "Payer" and put his "Escrow Invitation Code" , the "Escrow Invitation Code" of User B and the "Payment Invitation"  then he will get private key that he can import in his client

-(if there will be any kind of dispute I'll check proof and then I will decide to give an "Escrow Invitation Code" to one users so he can get him money)

As you can see it's really safe for both party because I can't steal your bitcoins

You can contact me by PM
-Minimum escrow 25$ in BTC
-Maximum escrow 10.000$ in BTC

PM me for any kind of questions Smiley

It's quiet easy,

If I wasn't totally flat out with work i'd be seriously thinking about it. I'm actually supprised that nobody's doing it already, maybe someone's thought it through and hit a snag?

Ya not really sure. First thing I thought of was trying to crowd fund a few of these ATM's ...I have to think about this.

Has anyone considered crowd funding a bunch of those new Robocoin ATMs?
https://robocoinkiosk.com/

It's not something i'd like to setup myself (i'm busy enough), but surely it's viable?
If nothing else, those machines would make western union branches obsolete.
Bitcoin ATM shares anyone?
I was just thinking the same idea maybe you can use http://www.bitcoinstarter.com.

Looking forward to what you come up with!  Grin

This may be how my Bitcointalk forum account was hacked...I just saw this thread, and considering the guy that hacked my account was clearly a forum member already...this makes some level of sense.  My account was hacked back on July 10th, and I had been using the listen to bitcoins site prior to that at work because I thought it was cool to hear my money becoming worth more with the low tones indicating large purchases.

Thought that mystery would stay a mystery, but I have a strong feeling this is how he got in.  Now if only we could figure out who he is...tar and feathers at the ready men!

Currently I have a bitcointalk account  that was hacked  and still waiting to get into it.

Re: Super Bowl Commercial for bitcoin?

I'd like to see short spots that show off the state of fiat currencies.  No need to mention bitcoin directly.  There are other organizations that might be willing to contribute.  Something like this near the end of the game would be nice.  (Switch Euros and other currencies for Dollars in the appropriate regions):

Quote
Dollars printed by U.S. since kickoff today:
     xxx,xxx

Dollars printed by U.S. since 1/1/2014
     xx,xxx,xxx,xxx

  Total U.S. dollars in circulation:
     xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx

Total U.S. dollars backed by gold or silver:
     0

(I don't know what the actual numbers would be, so "x" above is obviously a placeholder for what would be researched values.)

ugh - I meant to include - The value of $1 you saved since last year's Super Bowl:  0.xx

I figured everyone would do chargebacks on ANY product right away if it worked everytime. There must be some safe guards since I've never done it either.

I'm actually shocked this isn't already happening.  My company has a lot of experience dealing with credit card processing on the merchant side, and I can tell you that the chargeback situation is getting worse and worse for merchants every day.  People are figuring out that you can, in fact, go on a big shopping spree and then charge it all back.  If you consider the incentive structure involved, you can see that it is likely to only get worse:

* Any customer can initiate a chargeback on any purchase.  Whether he received the merchandise, signed for it, or even bought it in person and provided a copy of his photo ID along with a signature does not matter.  His card issuing bank will accept the chargeback request and immediately deduct the funds from the merchant.

* The merchant will have an opportunity to provide the customer's card issuing bank with supporting evidence that the customer's claim is without merit.  What is accepted as evidence is arbitrary and subjective.  (I can provide you lots of specific examples that would make you really angry at the injustice of this system.)

* Statistically, card holders who dispute a charge are more likely to default on their credit card debt.  Card issuers lose money when consumers don't pay their credit card bills.

To put it more concisely, the bank who gets to decide whether or not to uphold the chargeback will tend to lose money by finding in favor of the merchant.  Banks will always choose the course of action that makes them the most money, not what would be seen as fair or ethical to honest men.

I'm absolutely amazed that everyone isn't charging back every purchase all the time.  Perhaps we'll get to that point once people realize there's nothing stopping them.  The situation reminds me of a line from George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones: "Power resides where men believe it resides...[power is] a shadow on the wall."  If people start to realize en masse that there's nothing stopping chargebacks on absolutely everything, other than a "shadow on the wall", all hell could break loose for credit card payments.

Here's something I posted a couple years ago about some of the other problems with credit cards for merchants:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36729.0

Starting to think of opening a service that allows people to post chargebacks automatically upon purchase lol....

they say they didn't and you can't prove it

This scenario ^^ but I can prove it.  Now, it will be a point where they won't bother doing a chargeback since it will be so obvious ( actually, the cardholder will see it themselves that is the case ) . I'm assuming it won't stop all chargebacks I was just curious.

But I hear what you are saying D & T.

Most likely you are wrong about proving it.   Just about any proof you think you have a scammer has figured out a way around it. You don't have proof, you only think you do and thus will lose the chargeback.

Amazing if you think about it. I suppose this is why credit card fee's are so much.

Yes, not speaking to ID fraud that is different more so "friendly fraud".  I mean you are saying some will claim a chargeback on product x  even though it will show they received the item?

Once again how EXACTLY will you show the CARDHOLDER not someone claiming to be the cardholder received something.  Please be specific.  If you just use vague terms like "show they received" well the answer is "you didn't convince the card issuer and they side the with cardholder".

No,no I'm not talking about someone claiming to be the cardholder  I mean just in general chargebacks. Someone claiming they never received the product x WHEN clearly it will be evident they did.
