Re: Aqua wallet - Bitcoin, Lightning, Liquid
by

I just installed it and received some lightning bitcoin sent from muun wallet.

I think the aqua lightning wallet is also on the liquid network, so not sure of the mechanics going on in the background, but it seems like sending lightning from regular lightning wallet to one on liquid network is no problem. I did get hit with a $6 transaction fee on the Muun wallet side, but that was expected because of the way they do lightning transactions and was a reason for me moving my balance to a new wallet with cheaper fees. I dont think the high fee was because of liquid network, but maybe someone else has more info on that.

@mrcash02 Generally I would agree with you, holding seems to be less risky and more profitable.
Maybe OP can give more information on the profitability.

Re: As a miner, why do you mine rather than buy and hold?

I constantly get told that it makes more sense to buy and hold than mine yourself - wondering what is your experience as miners.

I stopped mining with my own hardware when I saw that I would be in possession of much more bitcoin than I had, if I had just kept it, instead of risking it with mining. Yes I eventually got my ROI, in terms of the value of the miners when bought vs the value of the bitcoin I mined, but the total amount of BTC used to buy, vs the total amount of BTC mined, was not always correct. I got ROI many times on the fiat value, but not always on the BTC value. Now I only hold....but I am always looking to see if its still possible to make a profit mining again...

So at current difficulty you would get 256 dollars per month minus 2,925 per day is 168,25 dollars per month of income.
That's an ROI of about 10 months if the difficulty doesn't rise.
So since the difficulty does rise....what is the average rise in difficulty? I mean, how can you calculate a ROI date properly, is there an average percentage the difficulty goes up each year for example, that can be use to guestimate ROI?

Re: Is Bitcoin Mining Still Profitable?

Hello, is there anyone who can say if Bitcoin mining is still profitable. I just invested 100€ to cloud mining.

If you invested in a cloud mining company, you more than likely went for a ponzi scheme or scam site, since there are so many of them around. If you did a lot of research, its possible you found a legit cloud mining company, the problem with those though, is they are not as profitable as you want them to be. Bitcoin mining profit margins are normally pretty slim, and if a cloud mining company is promising great returns, its an even bigger red flag.
Try to see if you can withdraw your profit each day...scam sites normally dont allow this, or want you to re-invest your profit for more hashing power. This is where they catch you....you see great profits (on the screen) but keep re-investing and dont withdraw. What is really happening is they keep getting users to put more money in, and never withdraw anything because the numbers look too good. Eventually if its a scam or ponzi, they will vanish with all the bitcoin, and you will be left with nothing.

The best way around this is to make sure you can withdraw daily, and do that immediately from the beginning. Never ever re-invest profit, until you have withdrawn more than you put into the site. Only then have you really made any profit at all. After that time, you can try alternating with one day withdraw, one day re-invest, so that you get some money out as well as push up your hashing power.

Is your investment amount in BTC? If so, is 1 BTC invested with ROI of 2.95%, a profit of 2.95% in total? The amount of days, is that how long it took you to get ROI? How profitable are these contracts...I was thinking of starting one.
Have you ever just purchased a miner on hashnest instead? I really want to try mining again, but am super weary of not breaking even.

My first bitcoin was bought on bitcoin OTC on 18 June 2011....I ended up buying it with Linden dollars. I transferred the L$ to a player in the Second Life game.

I see some people talk about mixing bitcoins...why dont people just swap bitcoin? EG, Say I have 10BTC and I'll swap one of mine, for one of yours. I give you a wallet address to pay, you pay it, and provide a new address for your coin, which I then pay with one of mine.
Is that not a good way to make your bitcoins a little harder to track?
Why will I ever want to swap my bitcoin with anyone, what will it profit me since we would send to each other the same price, I don't think that is a very good idea
Why do people use mixers?

Got 7 entries for this. How many total entries does this already has from all participants anyway? Shouldn't that be available to see on gleam dashboard?
Anyway, goodluck and more power in our service. Hope that I can win. Smiley

There is not a lot of entries, hence trying to get more people to enter. Only 3 days left
